Chapter 327: Chapter 327: Trouble at the Orphanage

Sun Yanzi listened and nodded.

"Jiang Fan, I won’t try to talk you out of it. You’re a man with your own ideas, and I believe in you!"

Jiang Fan smiled knowingly. Sun Yanzi’s words put him at ease.

"Yanzi, why are you still working on a proposal this late at night?" Jiang Fan asked, looking at her computer.

Sun Yanzi sighed. "Ugh, don’t get me started. The National Day event isn’t even over, but the response has been great. So now everyone at the company is working overtime to plan the next collaboration with Yuefan Group. We’re trying to completely seize Fengming Group’s market share."

"So, the event isn’t even over and you’re already rushing to plan the next one? Isn’t that a bit too much of a hurry?"

Sun Yanzi shot Jiang Fan a look. "Shouldn’t you be asking President Yin and Manager Li about that? Manager Li demanded we come up with a novel proposal within a week. You’re the one who broke her heart so badly she can’t even pull herself together. So, naturally, the heavy lifting falls on us, doesn’t it?"

"Ah... well, Yanzi, you can’t really put it that way, can you?"

"You little devil. I’ve been working myself to death today. Aren’t you going to reward me properly?"

"How should I reward you, Yanzi?" Jiang Fan asked, his face flushing.

"By..."

As Sun Yanzi spoke, she pressed her body against Jiang Fan’s.

Jiang Fan couldn’t help but swallow. Before he could react, Sun Yanzi’s lips were already on his.

The passionate and uninhibited Sun Yanzi was hard to resist, especially for a virile man like Jiang Fan.

In an instant, Jiang Fan felt himself surrendering to her...

The two moved from the sofa to the bed. After a fiery bout of passion, Jiang Fan lay in bed and fell into a deep sleep.

When Jiang Fan woke up the next morning, it was already ten o’clock.

Sun Yanzi was no longer in the room. However, Jiang Fan saw a message from her saying she had already gone to one of Xuerong International’s brick-and-mortar stores.

Jiang Fan rubbed his eyes. He noticed that Li Muwan had also sent him a few WeChat messages. But when he opened the chat, he saw that she hadn’t said anything—she had sent a total of four messages, then retracted them all.

Jiang Fan didn’t think much of it. He stretched and got out of bed.

After washing up, he sat on the sofa and saw the breakfast Sun Yanzi had prepared for him on the coffee table.

Just then, Wu Qiang suddenly sent Jiang Fan a voice message.

"Fan, that hot pot yesterday was totally worth it. I passed my physical, and Bao said he’s putting me on the surveillance team. It’s a three-shift rotation with a base intern salary of thirteen thousand. With perfect attendance and all the subsidies, it’s almost twenty thousand! In my free time, I can even learn Sanda and combat fighting from them. Once I level up my skills, I can become a personal bodyguard, making at least thirty to fifty thousand a month!"

"Holy shit!" After listening to Wu Qiang’s message, Jiang Fan was filled with nothing but envy.

He hadn’t expected Su Qingci to be so reliable, arranging such a great gig for Wu Qiang.

"Qiang, you’d fucking better do a good job. Don’t you dare embarrass me!"

"Don’t worry. I definitely won’t embarrass Miss Su, and I won’t put you in a tough spot!"

"Good. Go get ’em, Qiang!"

Jiang Fan had a lot of confidence in Wu Qiang.

He had asked Su Qingci to place Wu Qiang in a security company precisely because he believed in Wu Qiang’s abilities.

Although Wu Qiang had never had any formal training, he was in peak physical condition, with an eight-pack and incredible agility. Jiang Fan had once personally witnessed him get into a conflict with several other delivery drivers while waiting for an order. He had single-handedly beaten up three of them and almost ended up at the police station for assault.

Wu Qiang replied that he was starting work, then didn’t message Jiang Fan again.

After breakfast, Jiang Fan took the bank card Yin Ruxue had given him yesterday and planned to head to the bank. He was going to transfer the money back to Rong Anyao.

Of course, he didn’t mention to Rong Anyao that Wu Qiang had been scammed. He only said that Old Niu hadn’t managed to secure the storefront, that Wu Qiang had found another good job, and that their plan to open a shop together would have to be put on hold for now.

He went to the bank, withdrew the money, and transferred it back to Rong Anyao’s card. Just then, his phone suddenly rang.

He took out his phone and glanced at it. The call was from Li Qian’Er.

"Hello, Qian’Er!" Jiang Fan answered, his brow furrowing.

Jiang Fan knew that Li Qian’Er wouldn’t call him unless something was wrong.

Sure enough, as soon as the call connected, Li Qian’Er said frantically, "Jiang, something terrible has happened!"

"What happened? Calm down and tell me slowly," Jiang Fan said in a low voice.

Li Qian’Er explained, "Jiang, you know how there was construction going on next to the orphanage when you visited? So many orphanages and kindergartens have contacted us that the three dorm buildings on the Hidden Dragon Academy campus aren’t enough to hold everyone. We decided to use this new site for an additional dormitory and a temporary building for teaching and offices. You remember, right?"

"Yeah, I remember. Is there a problem?" Jiang Fan asked.

"Construction was going fine the past few days, but this morning a group of people showed up and blocked all our construction vehicles! They’ve taken over the site and all the equipment!" Li Qian’Er started crying as she spoke.

"Something like that happened?" Jiang Fan gritted his teeth, anger flaring up inside him. "Who did it?"

"I don’t know! A whole group of them just showed up early this morning!" Li Qian’Er said, her voice trembling. "I tried calling Junyue, but her phone won’t connect, so you were the only one I could call!"

"Wait for me. I’m on my way," Jiang Fan said coldly.

After hanging up, Jiang Fan didn’t hesitate for a second. He got in his car and sped directly toward the Grand Orphanage.

When he arrived at the Grand Orphanage, Jiang Fan could see from a distance that the construction site outside was surrounded by people—at least forty or fifty of them.

The crowd was split into two groups. One side was armed with all sorts of baseball bats, steel pipes, and shovels, and was led by a heavyset man with a full beard.

The other side was unarmed and outnumbered. Standing at the very front was Li Qian’Er.

The two groups were in the middle of a heated argument, but it was obvious the bearded man’s side had the upper hand. He stood before the crowd, brandishing a steel pipe, while the group of workers in hard hats on Li Qian’Er’s side kept their heads down, not daring to fight back.

Without a word, Jiang Fan drove his car right up to the crowd and got out.

"If any of you dare touch a single thing on this land today, I’ll crack your damn skull open!"

The moment he got out of the car, Jiang Fan heard the bearded man shout.

"Jiang!"

Seeing Jiang Fan get out of the car, Li Qian’Er quickly ran over to him.

"Qian’Er, don’t panic. Tell me slowly, what’s the situation?"

Jiang Fan stepped forward, and Li Qian’Er hurriedly pointed in the direction of the bearded man. "Jiang, this land has always belonged to the Grand Orphanage! It used to be a vegetable patch, you should remember. We’ve had the land use rights since Grandpa Director was still here!"
