Chapter 328: Chapter 328: What on Earth Is This Monster?

Jiang Fan nodded.

He remembered it clearly. Back when the old director was still around, he and Jun Yue, though only children, would help him in the vegetable garden.

Li Qian’Er continued, "The deed for the land-use rights is still with the old director’s wife. Not long ago, Junyue got the planning and construction permits for us, but this group of people is claiming the land is theirs and stopping our crew from working."

Jiang Fan gritted his teeth. He didn’t let Li Qian’Er continue, instead looking at her to ask, "Qian’Er, who hit you?"

A bright red handprint was visible on Li Qian’Er’s cheek, and the corner of her mouth was swollen.

Li Qian’Er touched her cheek and said, "I’m fine! It’s just that our construction crew..."

"Qian’Er, I asked you who did this to your face!"

"I did. What about it?"

The leader, a burly man with a thick beard, answered loudly.

"This land belongs to the Yutong Group. You can’t just start using our company’s land without so much as a heads-up, can you?"

"BAM!"

With a loud thud, the bearded man who had just been speaking went flying seven or eight meters away. He landed on the ground, spitting blood.

The impact knocked over several of the thugs standing behind him, and they fell to the ground, crying out in pain.

No one saw how Jiang Fan moved, but his leg was still raised, having just kicked the burly man a great distance.

"Who gave you the nerve to lay a hand on someone from the orphanage?"

"Yang, are you okay, Yang!" a few of his men shouted as they rushed forward to help the bearded man.

But the burly man only spat up more blood, glaring viciously at Jiang Fan from where he lay on the ground.

"Damn it, you’re asking to die!"

With that, the gangster waved his arm, and the whole group immediately surrounded Jiang Fan.

"Jiang, be careful!" Li Qian’Er cried, taking a worried step toward Jiang Fan.

Behind Li Qian’Er, the construction workers who had witnessed the scene quickly retreated to a safe distance.

"Qian’Er, get back. Don’t be afraid!"

Jiang Fan motioned for Li Qian’Er to hide behind a nearby tree.

Li Qian’Er was hesitant at first, but after seeing the determination in Jiang Fan’s eyes, she thought, ’I’ll just be a burden,’ and retreated several steps.

"Jiang, you have to be careful! I’m going to call Junyue!"

Jiang Fan sneered. Seeing the gangster and his men surround him, he remained completely unfazed.

The gangster and a few of the other thugs struggled with all their might to finally haul the burly man to his feet.

"Yang, are you okay? This kid’s got a death wish!"

The burly man gave a dry cough, and another mouthful of fresh blood sprayed from his lips.

He raised his steel pipe and roared, "Get him!"

At the burly man’s command, the thugs charged Jiang Fan in waves.

"Asking to die!" Jiang Fan grunted, lunging forward and kicking the nearest man.

The other men were all holding weapons, but in Jiang Fan’s eyes, their movements were impossibly slow. They posed no threat to him at all.

A few moments later, as the burly man and the gangster watched in shock, Jiang Fan had taken down eight or nine of the charging thugs in less than a minute.

The thugs writhed on the ground in pain, their pained, grimacing screams filling the air.

The remaining thugs looked from one to another, and all of them began to tremble.

"Dammit, what are you standing there for? Get him!" the gangster yelled at the men beside him, grabbing two of them and shoving them toward Jiang Fan.

The two men who had been pushed also raised their steel pipes and charged forward desperately.

The next moment, they both fell heavily to the ground.

"Come on! If you’re not afraid to die, then come at me!"

Jiang Fan bellowed, snatching a fallen steel pipe from the ground.

At that moment, every single one of them chickened out. The remaining thugs all ducked behind the burly man and the gangster.

A moment ago, Jiang Fan had taken down more than a dozen men with his bare hands. Now that he had a steel pipe, none of them wanted to go up and get themselves killed.

"Damn it, a bunch of losers!" the gangster cursed under his breath, though his face had clearly grown terrified as well.

The next instant, Jiang Fan was right in front of the two of them.

Before the burly man and the gangster could react, Jiang Fan kicked them both to the ground.

The burly man was now speechless, lying on the ground and twitching uncontrollably.

The gangster clutched his stomach, the gravity of the situation finally dawning on him.

"B-Boss... we were wrong. Please, don’t hit us again! *Cough, cough...*"

The gangster started begging for mercy.

Seeing this, the remaining thugs, already pale with fear, threw their clubs to the ground and began begging for mercy.

Watching the group of men—some lying, some kneeling—the construction workers were all stunned. They began to whisper among themselves, unable to hold back.

"Damn. Weren’t you all acting so tough a minute ago? What happened?" Jiang Fan taunted coldly.

The Jiang Fan of today was a world away from the person he used to be. This group was no match for him whatsoever.

Just then, a Mercedes-Benz drove up, and Jun Yue got out.

Jun Yue frowned as she took in the scene before her. Li Qian’Er had already run over, crying out, "Junyue, you’re finally here!"

Jun Yue scanned the area, her eyes finally settling on Jiang Fan.

"Qian’Er, Jiang Fan, what’s going on?"

Li Qian’Er pointed to the men on the ground and said hurriedly, "This group of people showed up out of nowhere, claimed this land was theirs, and forcibly stopped our construction!"

"So what’s happening now? I was busy, but I came right away when I saw your message!"

Jun Yue couldn’t believe the scene before her: of the thirty or so men, half were on the ground wailing in agony, and the other half were kowtowing to Jiang Fan, begging for mercy.

"Junyue, you didn’t answer your phone, so I called Jiang!" Li Qian’Er explained.

She then briefly recounted everything that had just happened.

After hearing the story, Jun Yue stared at Li Qian’Er in disbelief. "Qian’Er, are you sure Jiang Fan took down all these men?"

"It’s the absolute truth. All of us saw it!" said Li Qian’Er.

Jun Yue was stunned. ’What kind of monster is Jiang Fan?’ she thought.

’It’s a shame I arrived a moment too late to witness it myself.’

Jiang Fan, however, had no time to worry about any of that. He slowly walked over to the burly man and hauled him to his feet.

"I’m asking you, who sent you?"

The burly man stared at Jiang Fan in terror. He opened his mouth to speak, but a mouthful of blood choked his throat.
