Chapter 387: Chapter 157: The Turnover That Scared Fellow Apprentices to Tears
SLURP~
With a single slurp, Sui Po sucked the plump soup dumpling completely flat.
GULP~
Then, in one more bite, he swallowed the entire dumpling, with its thin skin wrapped around a filling of meat and crab roe.
He gave a perfect demonstration of the proper way to eat one: first, open a window; then, drink the soup; and finally, devour it all in one go!
Seeing this, his fans all assumed he was finally about to start his review.
To their surprise.
SLURP~ GULP~
In less than five seconds, another dumpling was gone in one bite.
"This isn’t quite enough..." Sui Po mumbled. "Um, could I get five more dumplings? I won’t bother picking a crab this time. I’ll just take the ones that are ready."
Zhang Li said, "The ready ones are also made fresh to order."
Sui Po chuckled. "Of course. With how fast the food comes out, it’s impossible for you to have any stock."
After all, even people who had queued up to get in still had to wait a while after ordering to get their dumplings.
Besides, he had just seen it himself. Boss Su was nonstop, making dumplings by hand. The moment they were steamed, they were brought to the customers’ tables without a second’s delay.
"These crab soup dumplings have to be made and eaten fresh. If you let them sit for even a little while, the texture is completely ruined."
Since it was a fresh order, Zhang Li quickly reappeared with five more dumplings.
SLURP~ GULP~ SMACK SMACK!
For a moment, the stream was filled with the rhythmic sounds of eating. Combined with the camera zoomed in on his face, the sound and picture were quite a combo.
"Holy crap! I thought Teacher Sui was a food reviewer, but now he’s just a mukbanger?"
"Not a single word of commentary, he’s just focused on eating. Is this how a food reviewer is supposed to act?"
"Heh, you think that’s funny? Teacher Sui is holding back. You should go check out Old Tang next door. Grease is dripping down his chin, like he hasn’t eaten in 800 years."
"For food reviews, you gotta watch Old Sui, but when it comes to mukbanging, Old Tang is definitely winning this round!"
Seeing these comments in the chat, many fans switched over to find Old Tang’s stream. And sure enough, when they opened it...
On screen, Old Tang held a bowl of rice in one hand while frantically piling food into it with the other. Once it was full, he shoveled both rice and food into his mouth. He looked absolutely ecstatic, too busy eating to say a single word.
Whether they were new fans or old, everyone who saw this was a bit dumbfounded.
"Folks, you really can’t blame me for not reviewing anything for you. This food is just too damn good. I can’t stop eating!"
After Old Tang single-handedly polished off seven or eight dishes, he finally felt like his stomach was about to burst.
No matter how delicious the food was, it was still real, solid stuff filling up his stomach!
And these home-style dishes were especially good with rice. Old Tang had already eaten three whole bowls of it.
"I can’t, I can’t! If I eat any more, my stomach’s gonna explode! No more, no more!"
"I’ve basically tried every dish on this table. I ate more of the ones that suited my taste, and a little less of the ones I didn’t like as much!"
With his belly full, Old Tang finally started chatting with the folks in his stream.
"And when I say I didn’t like some as much, it’s not because Boss Su’s cooking is bad, it’s just a matter of my personal taste! I’ve gotta say, even though Boss Su didn’t cook these home-style dishes himself, Master Wang told me that all the chefs have to go through rigorous training with Boss Su before they’re allowed to send out food."
"All the flavors that are supposed to be there are there, and many dishes even transcend their usual taste. The texture is flawless, and it goes without saying that all the ingredients are fresh."
Then, Old Tang panned his camera around the third floor. "Just look at this sea of people. How could the ingredients not be fresh?"
Generally speaking, the better a restaurant’s business is, the less you have to worry about the freshness of its ingredients.
They can sell everything they have, so naturally, they get fresh ingredients delivered every day.
It’s the restaurants with poor business you have to watch out for. What do they do when they can’t sell yesterday’s ingredients?
They have no choice but to make do and use them!
"I especially have to recommend the Mapo Tofu to you folks. It’s simply unbeatable! I’m not exaggerating when I say that for 88 yuan a plate, you won’t find better Mapo Tofu than Delicious’s anywhere in the country! I’m calling it right here!"
Old Tang gave a thumbs-up. "Let’s go! Time to walk this off! I can’t eat another bite, so I’m going to climb some stairs to digest. I’ll let my assistant go try the dumplings on the nineteenth floor!"
He left the third floor and headed for the stairwell entrance.
When Old Tang saw the dense crowd ahead, he was stunned. "How are there still so many people?"
There was one comforting thought, though.
Even though the crowd was huge, the line to climb the stairs was moving much faster than before.
Mainly because after going inside, most people couldn’t be bothered to pick out a crab and just chose the standard-priced crab soup dumplings. That way, not only could they eat sooner, but they could also spend less money to enjoy the same delicious Cthulhu dumplings!
The stairs weren’t very wide. On the right were people queuing to go up, and on the left were people coming down after eating their dumplings.
"Nice! Boss Su’s queuing method is really something."
Old Tang looked up through a gap in the stairs. "You get full on the third floor, come out to climb some stairs, and then you can eat a couple of dumplings on the nineteenth floor. After eating the dumplings on the nineteenth floor, you can walk down to the third floor and go in for a bowl of rice! Brilliant, just brilliant! All you other business owners out there, take notes!"
Just as Old Tang said this, Teacher Sui happened to be coming down the stairs. "Old Tang, I think you’re just trying to lead people astray with that advice!"
"Boss Su’s dumplings are worth queuing like this for. If any other business actually tried this, wouldn’t they go bankrupt?"
