Chapter 388: Chapter 157: A Turnover That Makes Rivals Cry (Part 2)
Old Tang chuckled. "So, Teacher Sui, did you eat your fill up there? Are those buns really that delicious?"
"You’ll know if you go up and try one," Sui Po said, his lips sealed tight.
’Trying to pry information out of me so you can go back and make a video?’
’Dream on!’
Even after reaching the third floor, Sui Po only glanced inside. "I’ve had my fill of buns for today. Let’s get back to work."
The few assistants following him looked completely bewildered.
’You might be full, but we haven’t even eaten yet!’
’Watching you eat those buns almost made us starve, and now you won’t even let us have some simple home-style dishes?’
But there was nothing they could do. After all, Sui Po was the boss!
The assistants could only swallow silently, their gazes lingering on the customers feasting inside the third-floor dining area. They reluctantly tore their eyes away and followed Teacher Sui out of Delicious.
Meanwhile, the line started to move faster.
Old Tang finally made it from the third floor up to the nineteenth, panting against the wall by the entrance for a good while before he could speak.
"I’m telling you, I’m still completely stuffed! Looks like I’ll only be able to have a small taste of these buns today." He turned to his assistants. "We’ll each order one, but I’ll just try a bite."
After arriving on the nineteenth floor, unlike Sui Po, Old Tang couldn’t be bothered to shell crabs, mainly because he wasn’t very adept at it.
Besides, with his assistants there, ordering a pile of crabs would mean they’d be shelling them until who-knows-when.
So, he simply ordered one of the "affordable" 98-yuan Cthulhu Crab Soup Dumplings for everyone.
The food arrived quickly. Less than three minutes after Old Tang ordered, Zhang Li came out with a tray. On it were four pedestal plates, each holding a single, jiggly crab soup dumpling in the center.
The moment Old Tang saw the dumpling, he immediately gave a thumbs-up and started praising it.
"This wrapper is incredibly thin! It’s practically translucent. I’ll taste it for everyone and see if Boss Su added starch to the dough. How else could something so thin hold all that soup inside?"
Since he was just "tasting" it, Old Tang took a gentle bite, tearing a tiny opening in the skin.
He smacked his lips a few times.
"Nothing wrong here. The wrapper is made of pure white flour, definitely no other additives. Now, I’ll try the soup."
SLLLUUURP~~
He put his mouth to the small opening and began to slurp enthusiastically.
The moment the first sip of soup entered his mouth, a strange expression came over Old Tang’s face.
"It’s this savory? Let me try some more."
SLURP SLURP SLURP~
After a few more slurps, he finished the soup and smacked his lips. "Wait a minute. I have to try the filling!"
He peeled back the wrapper to look at the filling and gasped, just like everyone else who sees it for the first time. "Whoa! This filling! It’s packed solid with pure crab roe, no fillers at all! And then there’s the crab meat and Boss Su’s secret ingredients!"
He shoved the rest into his mouth and chewed for a long time. "Savory! It’s so incredibly savory! Miss, bring me two more!"
Hearing this, the viewers in his livestream were shocked. The bullet comments were instantly filled with people trying to talk him out of it!
"Teacher Tang, you can’t be eating like this! You just said you were only coming up for a taste, how is it that one wasn’t enough and you’ve already ordered two more?"
"Holy shit! Old Tang just ate six or seven dishes and three bowls of rice on the 3rd floor. He said himself he was stuffed to bursting, and now he’s fucking demolishing these buns?"
"So he’s got Schr?dinger’s stomach, huh? ’I’m stuffed to death from the home-style food, but if it’s buns, I could eat a few more?’"
"Are these buns laced with something? Teacher Sui ate almost twenty of them and spent several thousand yuan, and now Old Tang is starting? They’ve definitely got to be drugged!"
However, Old Tang’s next move made everyone’s jaws drop.
For the first dumpling, he had made a hole to drink the soup before eating it. For the second, he seemed to think that was too much trouble and just popped the whole thing in his mouth at once!
Even though it scalded his mouth, making him juggle it around for a good while, he endured the searing heat and forced the dumpling down.
"These buns aren’t that big; two is nothing! Bring me three more!"
Old Tang himself was fucking baffled.
’Seriously, he was truly full, but for some reason, once he started eating these buns, he just couldn’t stop!’
’He just felt like he could always eat a few more!’
After a few more rounds, when Old Tang was on his eighth dumpling, he waved his hands in surrender. "No more, no more! If I eat any more, I’ll really end up in the hospital!"
He had just tried to stand up and leave with his assistants when he staggered and fell back into his chair.
"Xiaozhang, give me a hand..."
He handed the livestreaming phone to another assistant, and over a hundred thousand fans watched, wide-eyed, as Old Tang had to be supported by his assistant just to get downstairs. They were utterly dumbfounded!
’Who eats until they literally can’t walk?’
Fucking ridiculous!
The hectic pace continued until ten o’clock at night. If Su Chen hadn’t ordered Bai Xiaobo to put up a sign with their business hours in advance, the stream of customers probably wouldn’t have stopped even at ten.
Even so, when they were closing up, they were still met with protests from some of the diners.
"We only arrived a little late because of traffic! Why won’t you let us eat!"
"Exactly! We’re trying to spend money here and you won’t even take it? Is there no law? Is there no justice in this world?"
"Refusing service? Everyone, let’s expose this place!"
When Bai Xiaobo took out Delicious’s little blacklist notebook, this group of customers, who had traveled from afar, immediately hailed a cab and obediently left the Development Zone.
The scene left Su Chen not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
He knew that everyone had come to show their support after seeing the news online, and that their complaints were just jokes.
