Chapter 2711: Chapter 2710: Intrusion

Ling Feng looked with suspicion and curiosity at the Elder who rushed down from the stone seat, wondering to himself: What on earth has happened? What prophecy?

The Elder walked around Ling Feng and the other two several times, continuously exclaiming, “Great! Great! Three foreigners, two men and one woman, a white-haired man carrying two sharp swords, and a young man followed by a pet…”

“It all came true! The prophecy has come true!” The Elder shouted excitedly and somewhat frantically.

Ling Feng squinted and asked, “Elder, please, what exactly are you talking about? What prophecy? Does it relate to us?”

The Elder seemed not to hear Ling Feng’s words, instead, he knelt in front of the ancestral tablets and prayed, “Thank you, ancestors, for your protection. The people of the prophecy have finally arrived. I believe the prosperous era of our Flame tribe is upon us!”

After paying homage to the ancestral tablets, the Elder finally regained his composure, coughing a little awkwardly: “Sorry, sorry, I lost my composure due to excitement. Please forgive me, everyone,”

“I am called Huo Yue, an elder of the Flame tribe in this Nine Nether Lava World. May I ask how each of you should be addressed?”

“Ling Feng, Ling Yao, Song Ruozhao.” Ling Feng introduced.

Huo Yue nodded, “Are you all from the world above?”

“Yes.”

“It’s exactly the same!” Huo Yue said excitedly, then looked at Ling Feng seriously and said, “You three are the prophesied ones for our tribe!”

“How so?” Ling Feng was still confused.

“Please follow me.” A flame rose in Huo Yue’s hand, which he pressed onto the stone he had just sat on, revealing a brilliant flame pattern, and then a hidden door appeared on the wall nearby.

“Huo Hui, stay at the entrance of the Holy Hall. Do not let anyone in. If anyone insists on coming in, lower the stone door immediately and inform me by sending a message!”

“Yes!” Huo Hui said somewhat awkwardly, “But Elder, I haven’t learned how to send messages yet…”

Huo Yue was momentarily stunned, then nodded, handed a red bracelet to Huo Hui, “Then just twist the pattern on the bracelet, and I’ll know someone is trying to break in.”

Huo Hui took the bracelet, nodded, and left the Holy Hall.

“Please, come in!” Huo Yue invited Ling Feng and the others to enter the hidden door first, followed by himself, and the door slowly closed behind them.

The hidden passage was originally pitch black, but when the door closed, firelights suddenly ignited, illuminating the path ahead.

Huo Yue led Ling Feng deeper into the passage until they finally reached a more open room, where flames rose all around, illuminating the entire room.

In the center of the room was a stone platform on which lay a yellow scroll quietly.

Huo Yue stepped forward, took down the scroll, and solemnly said to Ling Feng and the others:

“This scroll is the last prophecy made by our tribe’s most outstanding prophet in ten thousand years – Huoyu before his death. He sacrificed his blood to the Demon God, and described in great detail the catastrophe that would befall our tribe and how to resolve it three thousand years later.”

Huo Yue carefully unrolled the scroll, revealing numerous small red figures, representing the people of the Flame tribe.

On the other side, there were small blue figures all over their bodies. Huo Yue introduced, “These blue figures are people of the Water tribe, who are our tribe’s sworn enemies. We’ve been fighting for ten thousand years, each wanting to swallow the other and their world, but neither succeeded.”

The scroll depicted blue and red figures fighting each other, showing many fallen red and blue figures, obviously representing the death tolls from the war.

The casualties were about equal, nearly exhausting both groups, until a blue giant appeared behind the Water tribe, its immense power sweeping through the Flame tribe.

Seeing the Flame tribe about to be annihilated by the Water tribe, three prophesied individuals stood forward.

Although the prophesied individuals had no faces, their characteristics were visible: a leading young man followed by a pet, with a phantom aura around him.

A middle-aged man with white hair had two swords on his back, one gold and one green.

The other woman had no distinctive features but her entire body was in blue, matching the clothes Ling Yao currently wore.

These three individuals’ features matched Ling Feng and his group almost perfectly.

The appearance of the three prophetic individuals immediately led to the slaying of the blue giant, ultimately leading the remaining people of the Flame tribe to victory in the war.

The scroll ended with the three prophetic individuals and the remnants of the Flame tribe standing atop a mountain peak.

Huo Yue excitedly told Ling Feng and the others, “So you are the chosen ones from the prophecy! The ones who can lead our Flame tribe through this catastrophe!”

Ling Feng and Song Ruozhao exchanged a glance, seeing skepticism in each other’s eyes. Ever since they arrived in the Nine Nether, strange things kept happening, from illusions to prophecies, making them ponder deeply.

Both Ling Feng and Song Ruozhao were skeptical about this prophecy, as it seemed far-fetched to accurately predict events tens of thousands of years in the future, and even depict their detailed features so clearly.

Ling Feng smiled, “You say we are the prophesied ones?”

Huo Yue nodded, “It must be you. Huoyu also left the timing, exactly thirty-eight thousand years later, which is today, not a day more or less!”

Ling Feng feigned surprise, “That accurate? Did the prophecy mention why we should help you through your catastrophe?”

Huo Yue was taken aback, looked down at the illustrations on the scroll, and after a long while shook his head, “This prophecy did not mention that, but…”

Ling Feng extended his hand, interrupting Huo Yue. He shook his head, saying, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch, nor a free deal in this world. We are just passing through; why should we bother getting involved in your tribe’s wars with another?”

“What’s in it for us?”

Ling Feng’s words made the Elder blush slightly. After a long silence, the Elder sighed and said, “What you say is true…”

Ling Feng nodded, “I’m relieved you understand, Elder. You’re well aware we won’t act unless your Flame tribe offers us something of value. Then we might consider helping.”

Huo Yue hesitated for a long time and said, “Our Flame tribe has survived for ten thousand years, so naturally, we have some inherent treasures, but…”

“If Elder is reluctant to part with them, we won’t force it. We’ll leave right away, though I wonder if your Flame tribe can bear the consequences of that decision?”

Song Ruozhao glanced at Ling Feng’s back but finally said nothing. They were merely passing through without any ties or emotions with the Flame tribe, and without a deal, Song Ruozhao also had no desire to meddle. He wished to leave sooner for revenge.

“It’s not reluctance; it’s just that our tribe’s prized treasure is a Fire Lotus deep inside a volcano. It can serve as both a weapon and a foundation for cultivation, using the high temperatures of the flames to temper the body, significantly enhancing the speed and strength of cultivation,”

“This is our tribe’s most valuable treasure. However, many years ago, the volcano’s opening was occupied by a naturally born Fire Dragon. We cannot contend with it, so the Fire Lotus remains inaccessible, and we don’t even know if it’s still there…”

“So, there’s no treasure, is there? Let’s go; not worth our time.” Ling Feng said, signaling to Ling Yao and Song Ruozhao to leave.

Huo Yue grabbed Ling Feng’s sleeve from behind, then fell to his knees with a thud, kowtowing to Ling Feng and the others’ backs, “Please, I beg you. The years of war have exhausted all our resources, and we truly can offer no more treasures,”

“I implore you on behalf of the Flame Clan, save us!”

“Bang—bang—” Huo Yue knocked his head on the ground.

Ling Yao felt slightly moved seeing the elderly Huo Yue pleading with them, she glanced at Ling Feng.

Ling Feng, however, showed an indifferent expression and shook his head, indicating no desire to involve himself in this matter.

Song Ruozhao, watching Huo Yue kowtowing, raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Just as Ling Feng was about to refuse, another bracelet on Huo Yue’s hand began to glow.

Huo Yue noticed the bracelet’s response, surprised, “Huo Hui?! Someone broke in!”

A loud explosion noise then reverberated from the hidden room, vibrating the entire room heavily.

“Click—” The hidden door was opened.

“Hehehe,” A figure emerged from the flames below, laughing proudly, “Elder, is this the prophesied savior you speak of? An ugly group of foreigners?”
