“The world of the Huo Clan is the Second Layer of the Nine Nether, right? We descended from the First Layer. The Shui Clan’s Water Wave World should be the Third Layer. I want to visit the Third Layer to see what wonders the Nine Nether holds,”

“And it will also facilitate my continued tracking of Zhou Ming’s whereabouts,” Ling Feng gazed at Yan Yun, “Tell me.”

Although Ling Feng’s tone seemed to be requesting, Yan Yun clearly heard the command in it. Yan Yun sighed, feeling helpless. What choice was there now but to go along with it?

On the plain stood four towering stone pillars, each extending long chains which suspended a massive stone gate bound tightly by the chains. The gate bore a fiery lotus seal identical to the one on Vesuvius Volcano.

“This is a passage linking the Water Wave World and the Lava World, set many years ago by the clan leaders from both sides, intended to end the prolonged war between the two clans, and to prevent future generations from initiating new conflicts,” Yan Yun explained.

“Without the method of opening the seal by someone from both sides, it’s virtually impossible to cross into the other’s world.”

Ling Feng pondered, asking, “Why then did Shui Kong from the Shui Clan come to the Lava World? I don’t recall Huo Tian opening the passage then?”

Yan Yun’s face showed a smug expression, “Of course, that lad Huo Tian didn’t open the seal. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t because the right to open the seal was in my hands.”

“In your hands, why?” Ling Feng asked.

“Because ten thousand years ago, it was I who helped the clan leaders of both clans set the seal. The Huo Clan’s leader was gravely injured at the time, with little time left, knowing that future descendants would inevitably try to open the seal to wage war again.”

“So the old leader entrusted the control of the passage seal to me, and I promised him that no matter how future generations requested I open the seal, I wouldn’t open the passage to bring ruin to both clans.”

“Now that the Huo Clan has perished, such agreements or promises naturally don’t count. If you wish to visit the Water Wave World, I’ll open the Lava World’s passage.”

Having listened to Yan Yun’s narrative, Ling Feng added, “Another possibility is that there’s the influence of Zhou Ming behind the Shui Clan, and it’s due to Zhou Ming’s assistance that they could come to this world,”

“And also know many things they shouldn’t be aware of.”

Yan Yun paused for a moment and finally nodded, admitting that such a bizarre presence could indeed accomplish anything.

Ling Feng laughed, “Guess it’s an inside job then; such entities in our place never know how they die. I bet this Zhou Ming certainly won’t end well; I’ll wager a Fire Lotus.”

Yan Yun rolled its eyes, thinking to itself: After all, you hold the Fire Lotus, so whatever you say goes.

“Open it and try, my intuition tells me that someone from the Shui Clan is also coming…” Ling Feng said with a smile, nudging Yan Yun.

“Hmm-hmm.” Yan Yun nodded, then moved to the stone gate bound by chains. Yan Yun lightly recited an ancient incantation, causing the surrounding stone pillars to tremble slightly, and then the chains on the stone gate suddenly fell away, raising a cloud of dust.

Once the chains detached from the gate, they automatically swung around to wrap around the stone pillars.

Yan Yun’s body radiated bright flames, which then slowly flowed onto the stone gate. The Fire Lotus seal gleamed, and the stone gate gradually opened.

But it only opened halfway; just when everyone thought it would fail, the other half of the stone gate suddenly opened, emitting a cool breeze, revealing a vast blue world before their eyes.
