The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2725 - 2724: Naive Youngsters
A cool aura that did not belong to the Lava World flowed out from the passage, and a world that looked like it was painted appeared before Ling Feng and the other two.
Yan Yun was a bit dazed as well. Ever since the last great battle, the passage had closed and a seal was set; it had never again seen the scenery of the Water Wave World. Although the environment of the Water Wave World was much better than that of the Lava World,
the bloody memories left behind by that ancient war still lingered in Yan Yun’s mind and refused to fade.
Ling Feng looked at the spatial aura rushing toward them and couldn’t help but laugh. "Looks like my intuition was right. Turns out someone on the Shui Clan’s side also wants to open the passage."
Ling Feng patted Yan Yun’s shoulder, then laughed loudly. "Little guy, this is where we part ways. If I someday find a way to leave the Nine Nether, I’ll drop by the Lava World to visit you. Don’t miss me too much, okay?"
Yan Yun complained inwardly, "Like hell I’d miss you. You jinx, hurry up and get lost! And don’t ever come back."
Even though it was cursing Ling Feng in its heart, on the surface Yan Yun still wore a grin, even pretended to wipe away nonexistent tears from the corner of its eyes, and then said "reluctantly":
"Mm, mm, fine, go on. Take care of yourself, and protect the Fire Lotus. Don’t let those Shui Clan bastards snatch it away. I gave this thing to you, so you have to guard it well. It’s a very important treasure!"
Even though the earlier words were all snark, what it said later about Ling Feng protecting the Fire Lotus was Yan Yun’s true feeling. The Fire Lotus was indeed important; it didn’t want to see the supreme treasure that it and the Fire Dragon had guarded for hundreds of thousands of years get lost the moment it left its embrace.
Ling Feng gave a sly smile. "Relax, I won’t just keep the Fire Lotus from getting lost, I’m going to stir up the Shui Clan world while I’m at it. If they have any treasures over there, I might as well pocket them too,"
"These clan secret treasures only breed slaughter and lies. Better to let me keep them safe. After all, I’m a lone wolf—no one around me to kill each other over secret treasures."
Yan Yun rolled its eyes dramatically, then, even though it feared Ling Feng’s abilities, still snapped, "I’ve never been to the Water Wave World either, how would I know what secret treasures they have,"
"If you’re planning to rob them of a few secret treasures, I advise you to be careful. The Shui Clan is really not to be trifled with. Back then, even though the war was vaguely suppressed by the Huo Clan, their strength was still nothing to scoff at!"
Ling Feng nodded casually, then, together with Song Ruozhao who was traveling by Sky Command and Little Fei who carried Ling Yao on his back, entered the spatial passage, heading for the Water Wave World.
The spatial passage wasn’t really a passage at all—at best it could be called a door. The three of them practically stepped from the Lava World into the Water Wave World in an instant.
But what caught Ling Feng off guard was that barely had they stepped out of the door when they saw a group of blue-skinned people surrounding the spatial passage outside.
These people were obviously from the Shui Clan. They all held identical weapons, riding fierce Water Wave Devil Beasts, hovering in front of the spatial passage, glaring hostilely at Ling Feng and the other two who had just come out.
At their head was a young Shui Clan girl. The moment she saw Ling Feng and the others emerge from this spatial passage, she immediately raised the weapon in her hand and aimed it at them, not bothering to consider Ling Feng’s group’s strength at all, and shouted directly:
"Capture all these Huo Clan people! Don’t let a single one escape!"
Watching them charge over, Song Ruozhao had originally planned to simply wipe them all out. He felt they had already wasted too much time along the way; he still wanted to return to the Nine Provinces to take revenge on those Dao Sect people and the Human Emperor, and he couldn’t afford to waste his time here.
But Ling Feng stopped Song Ruozhao. He looked at the Shui Clan people rushing toward them and smiled lightly. "Brother Song, let me handle this. You don’t need to lift a finger."
Song Ruozhao glanced at the utterly confident Ling Feng and didn’t say much more, prepared to just watch coldly from the sidelines.
Ling Feng immediately shouted, "Brave warriors of the Shui Clan, don’t attack yet! We’re not from the Huo Clan! We only passed through the Lava World! Stop, don’t attack!"
The girl at the front stretched out her hand to halt the attack, frowned slightly, and fixed her gaze on Ling Feng.
Ling Feng grinned and said, "May I ask this lady hero what your name is?"
The girl gave a cold snort, but still said, "I am Shui Xia of the Shui Clan! You truly aren’t Huo Clan people?"
Ling Feng kept smiling. "Miss Shui Xia, we definitely aren’t from the Huo Clan! Just look at us—our skin isn’t red, and we don’t have flames burning all over our bodies!"
The young man beside Shui Xia leaned over and said, "Miss, they really don’t look like Huo Clan people. The books say Huo Clan folk all have red skin, and each and every one of them looks fierce and savage, like they eat people for breakfast!"
"These people don’t have that look at all. Could they really not be Huo Clan?" Shui Xia was wavering too, and murmured softly.
A knowing look appeared on Ling Feng’s face; he’d heard everything clearly. So it turned out these Shui Clan people—especially that girl—had never actually seen real Huo Clan folk.
Though that was only natural. The two clans hadn’t gone to war in ages, and judging by how young these Shui Clan people looked, they’d obviously never taken part in the war, and naturally had never seen real Huo Clan warriors.
"Ahem! Then who are you? Why did you appear inside the passage between the Huo Clan and Shui Clan?" Shui Xia coughed twice awkwardly, then questioned them sharply again.
Ling Feng had already seen through this girl’s lack of experience in handling matters. Spreading his hands, he chuckled lightly. "We’re passersby who happened to go through the Huo Clan’s territory. Huo Clan people are simply too treacherous and vicious—they tried to steal the treasures on me,"
"We fought with everything we had and only managed to force a Huo Clan person to open the seal so we could flee to your Shui Clan world. Don’t tell me you’re just as bad as the Huo Clan?"
Shui Xia shook her head. "Of course not! Our Shui Clan is full of good people." Shui Xia nodded, then whispered to her companions, "What they’re saying sounds true. The Huo Clan really is awful—the books say so. Could it be..."
The young man glanced at Ling Feng, then said again, "But the Clan Leader told us to guard this place. If someone opens the passage, we open it too, and no matter who comes out, we’re to capture them directly. We can’t just let them go, can we?"
Shui Xia hesitated once more. She stared at Ling Feng for a long time, and his smiling face simply wouldn’t stir up any feeling of disgust in her. She kept thinking that a man who smiled this kindly probably wasn’t a bad person.
But the clan rules and her own principles still won out over Shui Xia’s emotional side. She whispered, "Then let’s take them back for Grandpa to look at! Let Grandpa decide!"
"Mm." The young man nodded.
"All right, I believe you’re not bad people, but you still have to come with us. If you truly aren’t evil, we’ll naturally treat you well!" Shui Xia shouted.
"Sure!" Ling Feng’s face was full of smiles. Young people really were so simple!
