The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2726: The Shui Clan's Prophecy
Shui Wu and the other guards of the Shui Clan brought Ling Feng and his party back into the Shui Clan’s territory.
Presented before Ling Feng was a massive palace made of crystal, with many large trees bearing green leaves and red flowers above it, and surrounding the palace were people carefully tending to precious herbs of unknown varieties.
Below the palace lay a river, around which people dressed in ancient attire were washing vegetables and fruits in the river, while others used the clear water to cleanse brilliant gemstones.
The emeralds and rubies, after being washed by the river water, inexplicably became more radiant, which left Ling Feng somewhat surprised upon witnessing this scene.
Although Ling Feng was personally not very interested in gemstones, seeing the river’s magical properties made him curious if there was something extraordinary above the river, or if the river itself was a magical treasure.
Outside the palace, groups of guards patrolled the area, and apart from the patrolling guards, there were also soldiers dressed in solid and luxurious armor practicing in the plaza in front of the palace.
Leading them was a middle-aged man wearing light blue armor with golden patterns that signified his noble status. There was a trace of battle-hardened aura between his brows, which vanished upon seeing Shui Xia, but returned with a furrowed brow when he saw Ling Feng’s trio.
The leader in blue armor shouted to the soldiers below: “Train harder; after completing five hundred squats and one thousand push-ups, you may disperse!”
“Yes!” the soldiers shouted back in unison.
Then the leader approached the group led by Shui Xia, saluted her, and respectfully addressed, “Miss!”
“Uncle Shui Ze, I’ve told you many times, you’re my elder, no need to call me ‘Miss’ or any such honorifics; just call me Shui Xia,” Shui Xia went over affectionately and took the leader’s arm.
Shui Ze smilingly replied, “Your grandfather is the Clan Leader and has saved my life many times on the battlefield, never asking for anything in return. You are his granddaughter, and I am the general of the Shui Clan; I can be indifferent to others,”
“But to you, respect must always be given!” Although Shui Ze’s tone was gentle, his words clearly conveyed his attitude.
Ling Feng glanced at Shui Xia, internally noting: Who would’ve thought this little girl’s status was so high, the granddaughter of the Shui Clan Leader, which makes her Shui Kong’s granddaughter. Shui Kong appears utterly ordinary, yet his granddaughter is so remarkably outstanding.
Besides admiring Shui Xia’s appearance and demeanor, Ling Feng was also quickly observing the surrounding scene and the assembly of people, particularly taking note of this general named Shui Ze.
Despite his apparent age, the decisive aura emanating from him hadn’t diminished at all, a kind of aura that ordinary people wouldn’t possess, clearly nourished through substantial combat experience on the battlefield.
Shui Ze directed his gaze toward Ling Feng’s trio, his expression changing to one of scrutiny and inspection as he asked in a somewhat unfriendly tone, “Who are these people?”
“Oh, these folks came out from the passage between us and the Huo Clan…”
“Hmm?” Instantly, Shui Ze’s body emitted a powerful aura, making even Ling Feng feel a bit of pressure.
Nevertheless, Ling Feng fearlessly met Shui Ze’s gaze, his eye contact and aura unwavering and unyielding.
This audacity and fierce spirit made a hint of astonishment flash in Shui Ze’s eyes.
Seeing the mounting tension, Shui Xia quickly intervened to ease the situation, saying, “Uncle Shui Ze, don’t get worked up. I think they don’t seem like Huo Clan members. They said they merely passed through the Huo Clan’s world, were pursued, and then came through the passage to our Shui Clan.”
“Besides, they don’t look like bad people. If they were Huo Clan villains, they would’ve immediately clashed with us when they first saw us. After all, we are only rookie soldiers, why would they obediently come here with us?”
Shui Ze admired Shui Xia with a glance, then nodded with a smile, saying, “Your analysis is reasonable, and from their appearance and demeanor, they indeed don’t resemble that vile Huo Clan group,”
“But since they came from the passage, whether they are good or bad or innocent must be determined by the Clan Leader. However, the Clan Leader is recently out, so the Great Elder is overseeing matters in the clan. You should go to the Holy Temple and consult the Great Elder later!”
Shui Ze looked at the smiling Ling Feng, then reminded Shui Xia, “Although their identities haven’t been verified, they are not those Huo Clan scoundrels, so don’t treat them like prisoners; be polite to them,”
“Those who come to the Shui Clan are guests, don’t lose courtesy and make outsiders think we’re barbarians… “
“Right, right,” Shui Xia said helplessly, “The Shui Clan is a nation of etiquette; Uncle Shui Ze, you’ve repeated that so many times I can recite it now.”
Shui Ze smiled at Shui Xia and nodded in praise again, saying, “Miss’s natural wisdom, subordinates cannot compare.”
Ling Feng watched their amusing interaction, his internal impressions of the Shui Clan’s customs and atmosphere subtly changing.
Shui Ze’s gaze shifted again, suddenly noticing Ling Yao holding the still unconscious Huo Hui, the general’s expression abruptly changed as he strode over to immediately examine Huo Hui’s condition.
Ling Yao saw Shui Ze, who was surrounded by Evil Qi, and just when she was about to stop Shui Ze from inspecting Huo Hui, Ling Feng halted her. Ling Feng shook his head, Ling Yao paused slightly, then nodded in understanding and handed the unconscious Huo Hui to Shui Ze.
Shui Ze examined Huo Hui’s physical features, and when he opened Huo Hui’s eyelids to see the child’s blue eyes, he no longer doubted. He held the child and asked:
“May I ask everyone, where did you find this child, and why is our Shui Clan’s child being carried here from the Huo Clan’s world?”
Ling Feng sighed, shook his head, and said, “To be honest with General Shui Ze, we accidentally discovered this child while passing through the Huo Clan’s world. At that time, this child’s skin was still red, no different from the Huo Clan people.”
“But later, some unforeseen events occurred, the coatings on the child fell off, and we also learned of your Shui Clan existence. Based on various characteristics, we speculated that this child might be from your Shui Clan, so we brought him out when leaving the Lava World.”
“Why is he in a coma? Is he injured?” Shui Ze continued to examine Huo Hui for injuries but found none.
“He was indeed injured initially, but having studied some medical skills, I took the opportunity to heal this child. Now the reason for his coma is that he witnessed the tragic death of the fire tribe elder who raised him, and from excessive grief, his body triggered a protective mechanism.”
“That’s why he has been in a coma until now. I suspect it is related to the environment of the Huo Clan world; the high temperature is unsuitable for your Shui Clan people to live in. The child’s body may have undergone some changes, which is why he hasn’t yet awakened.”
A flood of information filled Shui Ze’s mind, and the usually decisive General hesitated for a long time before finally shouting toward the dispersing soldiers, “Come here!”
A soldier who had just finished training ran over, sweating profusely, “General!”
“Immediately take this child to the clan’s doctor for treatment! Let Doctor Shui Sheng attend to him! That guy’s medical skills are the best!”
“Yes!” The soldier took Huo Hui and quickly ran away.
Shui Ze looked at Ling Feng with a stern face, then suddenly bowed and respectfully said, “No matter what, thank you three, otherwise, who knows how long the child of my Shui Clan would have stayed in that Huo Clan world and suffered.”
“Today I, Shui Ze, thank the three of you for saving my clansman!”
“Oh, it was a small matter, not worth mentioning!” Ling Feng waved his hand modestly.
The true situation of Huo Hui was mostly as Ling Feng described, and it was indeed Ling Feng who saved Huo Hui’s life, so he graciously accepted Shui Ze’s gratitude.
Shui Ze straightened up and instructed Shui Xia, “Miss, these three indeed don’t appear to be bad people, but I still suggest you take them to see the Great Elder, and then temporarily arrange for them to stay within the clan.”
“Apologies to the three of you,” Shui Ze clasped his hands at Ling Feng and the others, “Now is an exceptional time, as a war between multiple worlds is about to break out, we have to be cautious of all outsiders, so we have to ask you to meet with our Great Elder.”
Ling Feng nodded to indicate understanding, then followed Shui Xia into the palace.
Due to Shui Xia’s status, the group moved unimpeded within the palace, reaching its depths after passing through a long cliff corridor and then seeing a Holy Temple.
After Shui Xia opened the door, she shouted loudly, “Great Elder! Great Elder! It’s Shui Xia, I brought some outsiders for you to see!”
The group continued inward, seeing many eternal lamps, and at the very end was a meditation mat, but there was no one seated there.
“Great Elder!” Shui Xia continued to shout.
A blue phantom suddenly descended from the sky, landing on the meditation mat and transforming into an old man with blue hair. The old man squinted his eyes and spoke, “You’re here again, Shui Xia girl, coming to disturb your great-grandfather’s sleep, aren’t you!”
“Hehe, how come you’re calling yourself my great-grandfather again, didn’t you say I shouldn’t call you that?” Shui Xia mischievously smiled.
“Hmph! Because I don’t have a grandson like your grandfather, that brat after becoming Clan Leader has been acting increasingly recklessly, not listening to me anymore, and his stubbornness will soon drag the Shui Clan into the Abyss!” Great Elder Shui Nian snorted angrily.
“Oh, my grandfather is just like that, let’s not talk about him today. Great-grandfather, I’ve brought some people here, they came through the Huo Clan passage, and Uncle Shui Ze has judged they are not bad people but still asked me to bring them for you to see.”
“Hmph, that Shui Ze kid is no good either, always thinking I need to look, can’t decide on his own?” Shui Nian squinted slightly, scrutinizing Ling Feng and the others.
“Well, you are the Great Elder, no matter if my grandfather is here, many things within the clan still require you!” Shui Xia smiled.
“Hmph!” After carefully examining Ling Feng and the others, Shui Nian’s eyes widened, then suddenly pointed at them and exclaimed:
“The prophecy! The prophecy has come true! The prophecy’s person has arrived!”
