The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2727 - 2726: Shui Clan’s Supreme Treasure
"Ah?" Ling Feng and the other two were almost simultaneously astonished. Why did this scene feel somewhat familiar?
Ling Feng remembered that not long ago, there was also an old man with fiery red skin and hair pointing at them, claiming they were the prophecy people, saying the prophecy had come true,
and then that old man named Huo Yue was beaten to death by his own people.
Now, what is this situation, a repeat of the old trick?
Ling Feng awkwardly said, "Elder, what’s your name...?"
"Shui Nian, my great-grandfather’s name is Shui Nian." Shui Xia, seeing that Elder Shui Nian was too excited to speak, awkwardly responded on his behalf.
"Oh, Elder Shui Nian, are you joking? What prophecy? We aren’t part of your Shui Clan, how could we be the people in the prophecy?"
But Shui Nian jumped off the meditation cushion, not even wearing shoes, and walked barefoot in circles around Ling Feng and the others several times, and then exclaimed:
"It’s you! I can’t be mistaken; you are the prophesied ones in our Shui Clan, destined to help us through this calamity!"
"Uh, this..." Ling Feng still felt a bit awkward, then scratched his head and asked, "Elder Shui Nian, could it be that your clan also has a prophecy scroll, depicting our features, and also scenes of the calamity..."
Shui Nian was stunned, hesitated for a long time before tentatively asking, "How do you know? This is a secret of our clan, known only to the Clan Leader and me..."
"Ah..." Ling Feng’s mind became even more muddled; is it really the same? Isn’t this identical to the Huo Clan’s prophecy scroll!
Shui Nian wasn’t too surprised that Ling Feng knew about the scroll; he quickly reacted and was about to drag Ling Feng and the others into the secret chamber behind him, which had slowly opened, to see the prophecy scroll.
Before leaving, he reminded his descendant, Shui Xia: "Go guard outside the Holy Temple, and no one is allowed to enter without my order, not even your grandfather!"
"Yes!" Although Shui Xia was hesitant, not understanding what exactly her great-grandfather was up to, she didn’t know what the prophecy was either.
Ling Feng, once again hearing such familiar words and instructions, thought to himself, hey, hey, hey, the last kid who guarded the door like this is still in a coma, don’t go! It feels like if you go, there won’t be a good outcome!
Even though his heart was filled with complaints about this familiar plot direction, Ling Feng maintained an unruffled exterior; he looked at Shui Xia and then calmly said to Shui Nian:
"Elder Shui Nian, I suggest that your great-granddaughter also come inside. I have an ominous premonition that if you let her guard the Holy Temple entrance, something terrible will happen,"
"so let her come inside with us."
Elder Shui Nian hesitated as he looked at Ling Feng, then at his great-granddaughter’s hopeful eyes, and finally shook his head: "Alright, since the prophesied one said so, Shui Xia, you come in with us,"
"Actually, it’s not that great-grandfather doesn’t want you to come inside, it’s just that he really doesn’t want you to get caught up in this storm; the storm is coming, and the curtain of war is about to open. Great-grandfather truly hopes our Shui Clan can stay out of it,"
"It’s best if you can also stay far away from all the bloodshed and death, but perhaps it’s destiny; our children of the Shui Clan aren’t ones to stand by and watch, fearing for their own lives!"
Walking ahead, Shui Nian muttered his worries and expectations for the Shui Clan, but though Shui Xia followed behind and heard the gist, her thoughts were actually on the murals on both sides of the corridor and the beautiful water wave formations.
Shui Xia, growing up, had never visited this secret chamber; she came to the Holy Temple almost every day, but didn’t even know the secret chamber existed, let alone any prophecy.
Ling Feng also paid attention to the scenes inside the secret chamber; although some places were different from the Huo Clan’s secret chamber, overall, they were largely the same, with no major differences. Soon, they reached the center of the chamber.
Consistent with the Huo Clan’s chamber, the Shui Clan’s secret chamber also only had a high platform, on which lay a blue scroll.
As Ling Feng approached the Shui Clan prophecy scroll, the Huo Clan’s prophecy scroll that Ling Feng had looted from Huo Tian inside his ring suddenly began to tremble. Although Ling Feng sensed the scroll’s strange movement, he remained unperturbed on the surface.
As the Huo Clan’s scroll began to tremble, the Shui Clan’s scroll also suddenly started to quiver. Shui Nian’s face changed as he approached, muttering:
"How strange, what is going on?" Shui Nian put aside his doubts, then chanted an obscure incantation, with a faint blue energy flowing from his fingers to the prophecy scroll, and the scroll finally stopped shaking.
Ling Feng, just about to forcibly suppress the Huo Clan’s scroll with his internal Spiritual Power, saw the blue Shui Clan scroll stop trembling first. Ling Feng watched Shui Nian with a scrutinizing gaze, then calmly walked over and asked:
"Is this the prophecy scroll?"
Shui Nian nodded, proudly picking up the blue scroll and introducing: "This is the prophecy scroll painstakingly created by our clan’s ancestors. The ancestor infused it with their own blood, beseeching the Demon God for our Shui Clan,"
"and only got a few prophecy phrases. However, the ancestor felt it was too obscure, fearing that future generations wouldn’t understand it, and that would be a disaster. So, several brilliant predecessors jointly sacrificed their lives to the supreme being depicted on the scroll as they died,"
"forcibly concretizing future events, mapping them onto this scroll, allowing us, the later incompetent descendants, to glimpse some relatively specific prophecy content and respond to it!"
Shui Nian slowly unfurled the scroll, and unlike the Huo Clan scroll, a refreshing aura wafted out, seemingly cleansing anyone who felt it.
Once the scroll was fully opened, it showcased prophetic images. Just like on the Huo Clan prophecy scroll, they depicted Ling Feng and the other two, with even the specific details being identical.
Though Ling Feng and the others did look like that, to match the image of Ling Feng and crew on the Huo Clan prophecy was somewhat miraculous.
Besides depicting Ling Feng and co. emerging from a passage, it also showed a dragon whose front half was black and back half red, spewing red-black flames in the sky, which were slaughtering the Shui Clan people massively.
Moreover, there appeared a figure with fiery red skin, mercilessly killing Shui Clan people too. The fire techniques used by this Huo Clan person were red.
Ling Feng was slightly surprised; the Huo Clan was nearly annihilated, with even the most powerful Huo Tian and his entourage being almost crippled by Ling Feng, their meridians and cultivation destroyed. Who could this fiery red person slaughtering the Shui Clan be?
Ling Feng initially suspected it was Huo Chou, but Huo Chou’s techniques, after Zhou Ming’s enhancement, should be black, certainly not such pure red.
Then, there was that half-black, half-red fire dragon. Since coming to Nine Nether, Ling Feng had seen only two dragons: a Black Dragon killed by Ye Yun and Song Ruozhao, and a Fire Dragon at Vesuvius Volcano in the Lava World that guarded the Fire Lotus but was later heavily injured.
The prophecy scroll continued to unravel, showing a mass of black mist appearing above the Shui Clan palace, nearly obliterating the entire palace with its power, even staining the river in front of the palace black.
Although the Shui Clan people fought desperately to protect their homeland, it was futile; though the black mist didn’t participate in the massacre, the Shui Clan still suffered numerous casualties at the hands of others.
Ling Feng, observing the shadow, firmly believed it was Zhou Ming, but he still didn’t understand why it would emerge to wreak havoc in the ensuing war.
Later, the scroll showed many creatures shrouded in mist, their shapes obscured. Ling Feng and Shui Nian couldn’t see clearly what exactly they were, but as soon as they appeared, Zhou Ming didn’t even need to act, and a large number of Shui Clan people fell dead.
Finally, it took Ling Feng and co. to eliminate those mysterious beings, and the prophecy ended there. Though there was still a large empty section at the end, it didn’t depict anything further.
Ling Feng pondered over the blank part of the scroll and then suddenly asked, "Elder Shui Nian, I heard before about the supreme treasure of the Huo Clan, the Fire Lotus. Do you have anything comparable in the Shui Clan, a treasure that rivals the Fire Lotus?"
Shui Nian paused, quickly understanding Ling Feng’s implication, and then led Ling Feng and the others out of the secret chamber to the Holy Temple outside. He opened a box on the altar, and the door, resembling a temple’s gate, opened to the sides.
An undecayed body was revealed to everyone.
Shui Nian introduced, "This is our Shui Clan’s supreme treasure, said to be the body of the primordial ancestor of all things in the Water Wave World!"
