"You’re clearly making an outrageous demand! What kind of unreasonable request is this?" Shui Xia waved her fist angrily, almost ready to swing it towards Ling Feng’s smiling face.

"Shui Xia! If you continue to act so irrationally and rudely, get out immediately. We’re discussing important matters here, so stop shouting! What kind of behavior is this?!" Shui Nian shouted.

Seeing that her great-grandfather seemed genuinely angry, Shui Xia slowly lowered her fist, and with tears of grievance in her eyes, she said:

"Grandpa, it’s obviously this guy who is being unreasonable! This isn’t negotiation; it’s taking advantage of a crisis!"

Seeing his great-granddaughter looking all wronged and on the verge of tears, Shui Nian softened and patiently explained:

"Sigh, Shui Xia, you’re still young, so you won’t naturally understand the weight and pros and cons of these matters. Compared to the survival of our Shui Clan, what do those treasures and information matter?"

"Your great-grandfather only regrets that I’m old and useless. If sacrificing myself could help our clan get through this disaster, I would go die right now, but it can’t be done; it’s simply unrealistic,"

"Now, it’s hard enough that the person from the prophecy has appeared; we must seize this opportunity to ensure our clan survives this greatest calamity in thousands of years!"

After listening to Shui Nian’s explanation, Shui Xia finally stopped making a fuss, but she wasn’t very convinced and still glared angrily at Ling Feng, sulking quietly by herself.

Seeing the young girl’s pouting and angry look, Ling Feng found it amusing, so he suddenly made a funny face to tease her.

Initially hating Ling Feng, Shui Xia saw his funny face and couldn’t help but smile, then realizing her inappropriate reaction, she glared at Ling Feng even more fiercely in shame and anger.

Whether Shui Nian didn’t see it or intentionally ignored it, he simply clasped his hands towards Ling Feng and said, "We can accept the two conditions you mentioned, but you must only get the treasures and information after helping our Shui Clan through the crisis."

Ling Feng nodded, "I promise you, Elder Shui Nian, even if I’m not the person from your Prophecy Scroll, I will still do my utmost to help you overcome the calamity."

"As for the treasures, there’s no rush; you can take more time to find better ones. You don’t have to give them to me right away, but you need to inform me in advance what the treasure is," Ling Feng said with a smile.

"If I’m dissatisfied, then I’ll just have to be content with this body."

Even though Shui Nian felt a lot of pressure, he nodded and agreed to Ling Feng’s request.

"Very well, let’s leave it at this for now. We’ll stay here with you, and when the disaster truly comes, we’ll take action."

Shui Nian nodded and instructed Shui Xia to arrange accommodations for Ling Feng and his companions.

After everyone exited the secret chamber, sudden noises came from outside the Holy Temple, and then a guard rushed in and shouted, "Great Elder!"

Shui Nian frowned slightly and asked in a low voice, "What has you so flustered? What happened?"

The guard immediately kneeled on one knee and replied, "Reporting to the Great Elder, the Clan Leader has returned..."

"That’s good news! How did that kid manage to return safely? Didn’t the Clan of Darkness finish him off?"

"But... but, Great General Shuiluan is critically injured and is on the verge of dying in the Clan Leader’s arms!"

"What!?" Shui Nian’s face changed dramatically, "Where are they now? Take me to them quickly!"

"They’re almost at the Holy Temple by now!"

The guard led Shui Nian out of the Holy Temple immediately. Ling Feng smiled at Song Ruozhao and asked, "It seems something happened to the Shui Clan. Brother Song, are you interested in taking a look?"

"Whatever, it’s pretty boring anyway." Song Ruozhao responded with his eyes closed.

Then, they quickly followed the anxious Shui Xia outside.

"Miss Shui Xia, may I ask who this Great General Shuiluan is? Elder Shui Nian seems less concerned about the Clan Leader’s grandson but very worried about the General’s safety?"

Although Shui Xia disliked the greedy Ling Feng, given that he was indeed the prophesied one for her Shui Clan, she had to give in despite her distaste.

"Uncle Shuiluan is the most powerful person in our Shui Clan, having achieved countless military successes. He has rarely lost in battles against other clans, always leading the charge himself in combat,"

"He commands great respect in the military and is very friendly and kind-hearted, treating every member of the Shui Clan well and never putting on airs. Many ordinary people love this straightforward Great General. I like him too,"

"As for why Great-Grandfather is so worried, it’s because Uncle Shuiluan is his favorite disciple!"

Ling Feng understood now; it seemed Shuiluan was a significant figure in the Shui Clan.

The distance was short, and soon Ling Feng and the others arrived outside the Holy Temple, where a large crowd had already gathered. In the center of the crowd, Ling Feng saw a familiar figure,

It was the Shui Clan’s Clan Leader, Shui Kong!

At this moment, Shui Kong was holding a blood-soaked middle-aged man in his arms, who must be Shuiluan. His eyes were closed, brows furrowed, and blood kept flowing from his body, looking in great pain.

And Shui Kong was also looking at Shuiluan with furrowed brows, his expression filled with worry and tension, vastly different from the confident demeanor Ling Feng had seen him display in the Huo Clan world. Despite his splendid clothes being stained red with blood, he continued to hold Shuiluan tightly, channeling his Spiritual Power to slow the bleeding.

"Grandfather, come save us! It’s your favorite Shuiluan!" Shui Kong shouted.

Shui Nian had already come to the center of the crowd. The old man first knocked heavily on Shui Kong’s head and scolded, "What did I tell you before? Think long-term, don’t go looking for trouble proactively!"

"Why wouldn’t you heed my words and lead our fine water tribe men to their deaths?" Shui Nian was furious.

"Grandfather, save him first. Once Shuiluan is out of danger, I’ll let you scold and beat me however you want. Just save him, please!" Shui Kong still shouted.

Before Shui Kong could continue to plead, Shui Nian was already kneeling beside Shuiluan, channeling his blue Spiritual Power into Shuiluan’s body to assess his condition.

But the more Shui Nian probed, the deeper his frown became, and as Shui Kong saw his grandfather’s grim expression, his heart sank like falling into an ice cellar.

"Where is Shui Sheng? Get him here immediately!" Shui Nian placed his hand on Shuiluan’s wound, stopping the bleeding, and then shouted.

"We already sent for Doctor Shui Sheng, but he’s out collecting herbs and won’t be back for a while." The guard reported, looking as grim-faced as well.

"Why did he have to be away now?" Shui Nian shouted angrily and then knitted his brows. "The injuries have damaged many meridians; even I am at a loss here!"

Upon hearing that even the Clan Leader and Great Elder were helpless, everyone else slumped to the ground, and Shui Kong’s expression became even grimmer; despair filled the air.

Suddenly, a cheerful voice rang out:

"I can save him!"
