Ling Feng put away the Chaos Sword, then slowly exhaled a turbid breath.

Chao Yan looked at Ling Feng, who had just killed Jin Wei with a single strike, a bit shocked. Although Jin Wei’s skills weren’t particularly strong, if Chao Yan hadn’t been sealed and restricted, he could have easily killed Jin Wei too.

However, for Ling Feng to kill Jin Wei so cleanly and efficiently still required some real skills.

Chao Yan walked up to Ling Feng and exclaimed, "Truly impressive! You must be a prodigy of the Human Race, right? Just like me, a genius of the Demon Clan. Unfortunately, I ran into that unreasonable Lu Wutong..."

Ling Feng waved his hand to stop Chao Yan from launching into another long speech and calmly said, "Now that I’ve killed the Demon Mirror Spirit, what should I do next?"

Chao Yan was slightly stunned, then smiled and said, "Next, it’s simple. You just need to shatter these pillars and take the Magic Mirror, and my seal will naturally break."

Ling Feng nodded. He had been away from the cave for too long, and although he knew Ling Yao would likely not disturb him while he was "healing," he still had to hurry back, or he wouldn’t know what might change with the Shui Clan.

With a thought, Blade of the Apocalypse and two other divine weapons shone brilliantly, instantly slicing the pillars into countless fragments. As Chao Yan watched the pillars that had accompanied him for a hundred thousand years turn to fragments, his face showed an excited expression.

Then Ling Feng walked up to the Magic Mirror, touching the mirror’s surface. After a ripple flowed through it, the Magic Mirror emitted a colorful radiance, very similar to the colorful ripples in the surrounding void. Then the Magic Mirror suddenly became smaller, almost shrinking to half its original size.

After some thought, Ling Feng finally decided to place it in his ring, together with the Fire Lotus he obtained from the Huo Clan.

Once Ling Feng had put the Magic Mirror away, the island began to tremble violently. Ling Feng summoned Little Fei, jumped onto its back, and hovered in the void.

"One hundred thousand years! I, Chao Yan, am finally free! Hahaha!" Chao Yan released endless power, covering hundreds of miles of the surrounding void. He laughed wildly before retracting the power back into his body after a long while.

At this moment, although Chao Yan’s face still had only one eye and a mouth, his body was no longer weak and fragile. Now his body was incredibly strong, infused with immense power everywhere. It seemed that the hundred thousand years of sealing had not only failed to limit his cultivation.

In fact, it had made this demon’s cultivation even more refined.

With his body restored, Chao Yan approached Ling Feng and smiled joyfully, "Where do you want to go now? I can tear open a space rift and send you there directly."

Ling Feng simply said, "Just send me back to that original cave; I have many things to do there."

"Alright!" Chao Yan wasted no words, using his sole eye to shoot out a black light, tearing open a rift in the void. The two of them entered it, disappearing from this void.

As Ling Feng and Chao Yan completely left, a deep pit suddenly appeared at the spot where the Magic Mirror was originally placed. Then, a small wisp of light shot out from it, circling the island before suddenly speeding towards the direction of the Netherworld Void.

After this wisp of light flew away, the island completely collapsed, disintegrating into countless stone fragments in the void.

...

Meanwhile, on a bustling island an infinite distance from the Netherworld Void, an old beggar was lazily sunbathing by the roadside, occasionally receiving a few copper coins from passersby in the bowl before him.

Whenever someone tossed a coin, the old beggar would nod slightly in acknowledgment but showed no flattery or concern for the disdainful glances from those around him. He continued to sunbathe in the corner against the wall.

Suddenly, the old beggar opened his eyes, filled with endless sharpness, staring intently at the bright sky in the distance.

Then a white light flew at high speed from the sky, but the surrounding people seemed oblivious to it.

The old beggar extended his hand, and the white light descended into his palm, revealing itself as a wisp of light.

The old beggar’s expression changed, then he picked up the broken bowl in front of him, leaving the corner where he had been soaking up the sun for several days.

Some street thugs had noticed the old beggar on this street for several days, knowing he had collected quite a bit of money during his stay, and they became greedy, planning to rob him in a secluded area.

The thugs watched as the old beggar wandered into a secluded alley, feeling smug. Wasn’t the old man courting death by walking into such a desolate place?

The thugs followed him into the alley, spotting him with his back to them, ready to mock him first. But in the next second, they saw the old beggar suddenly disappear before their eyes.

The little ruffians rubbed their eyes, and, not wanting to give up easily, ran over to check, but they didn’t see a trace of the old beggar. Other than the distant exit, there weren’t any small passages nearby.

The little ruffians felt a strange sensation inside; could they have seen a ghost in broad daylight?

Just as the little ruffians were still puzzled, a lazy voice came from behind them:

"Are you looking for me?"

The ruffians, already on edge, were startled and quickly turned around to see the old beggar smiling at them.

"You old coot, are you trying to play tricks on us?" The gang leader felt mocked and waved his fists intending to teach the old beggar a lesson.

However, just as the fist was about to reach the old beggar, it suddenly stopped in mid-air, and the little ruffians found themselves unable to move.

The old beggar looked at them expressionlessly and said: "Alas, if I didn’t have matters to attend to, I’d play with you properly. But since you’re just a bunch of idlers who’ve done nothing too wrong, just a group of kids, really,"

"I won’t punish you this time,"

As the old beggar spoke, his ragged clothes started to change. The tattered outfit of a beggar began transforming from the pants, gradually becoming a light-green robe.

The old beggar’s appearance also began to change. Originally full of wrinkles and covered in dirt, his face transformed into that of a young man with smooth, fair skin. Even his tangled white hair turned into the long locks of a chivalrous knight.

Now, the old beggar could no longer be called an old beggar; in a few breaths, he had transformed into a barefoot young man. Strangely, though barefoot,

the mud and weeds in the alley didn’t stick to the young man’s feet at all.

The green-robed young man slowly walked up to the three little ruffians, and with a gentle smile, he said: "Although I can’t punish you, I also can’t let you remember what happened today, so I’ll just erase your memories for now..."

The little ruffians, seeing the strange sight before their eyes, finally showed fear on their faces.

The green-robed young man raised his hand, and a faint white light appeared in it, splitting into three white orbs that flew into the heads of the three ruffians, causing them all to fall unconscious.

The smile on the green-robed man’s face remained as he turned and disappeared from the spot.

The next moment, the green-robed young man suddenly appeared in the endless Netherworld Void, walking barefoot on the colorful flows and black waves, as if strolling on flat ground.

The closer the young man got, the more he saw countless island fragments floating in the void. The smile vanished from his face as he circled the fragments several times before finally concluding:

"Looks like that demon escaped!"

Then, an immense amount of temporal energy suddenly emanated from around the young man, and numerous time-space fragments poured into his eyes, flashing scenes before them:

From Ling Feng appearing in the Netherworld Void, confronting Chao Yan, to finally killing Jin Wei, taking the Magic Mirror, breaking the seal, and then leaving the Netherworld Void with Chao Yan.

The young man sighed softly, then extended the ring and middle fingers on his left hand to perform calculations. After a long while, he suddenly sighed deeply and murmured to himself:

"Alas, it’s ultimately the destiny’s arrangement. Since fate wants that demon to be assisted in escape, so be it..."

"But that guy named Ling Feng is quite interesting, with such ability, skills, and courage at such a young age..."

"Perhaps he could replace that kid as the most suitable candidate for my successor..."

The young man shook his head: "Alas, why think so much? Since my true form has been revealed today, I might as well take another trip to the Abyss!"

The young man turned around and disappeared once again into the void.
