Chapter 2741: Seven Days Later

A crack tore open in the cave behind the waterfall near the Shui Clan’s residence, and Ling Feng and Chao Yan emerged from it.

Chao Yan glanced around at the surroundings and exclaimed, “So this is the place. It seems we’re truly meant to be here, as not just anyone would dare come in and jump into the cave to make a deal with me,”

“It appears that heaven intends for you to set me free,” Chao Yan said with a laugh.

Ling Feng said coolly to Chao Yan, “Now that you’re out, keep a low profile in your future actions. If that Lu Wutong is really as formidable as you claim, then most likely, ten thousand years wouldn’t be enough to deplete this powerful human’s lifespan,”

“If he did indeed survive to this day, I surmise he already knows you’ve escaped!”

Hearing this, Chao Yan’s expression changed; it truly was a possibility. Lu Wutong was so powerful back then that he dared to venture alone into the Abyss to challenge numerous Demon Gods. Chao Yan found it hard to imagine what level of power this guy could have reached after ten thousand years.

Chao Yan utterly believed Ling Feng’s view: Lu Wutong could not possibly die in a mere ten thousand years. Such a prodigy would have long surpassed the bounds of normal natural lifespans, living longer than anyone could imagine.

Seeing Chao Yan’s expression change, Ling Feng knew the guy agreed with his thoughts and continued, “So it depends on how deep his grudge against you runs. If ten thousand years pass and he still intends to pursue you, then you need to be cautious,”

“Even though you’ve improved being sealed for ten thousand years, Lu Wutong would only be stronger than before. It’s not impossible for him to obliterate you with ease. However, I suspect he may not know your current whereabouts, so all that’s needed is some restraint, and he might not find you.”

“But remember, you must not return to the Abyss now—this is for safety!” Ling Feng warned.

Chao Yan nodded, finding Ling Feng’s words reasonable, and then looked at Ling Feng with gratitude, “Thank you for the reminder; I wish you master all the power of the Chaos Sword swiftly, though I know it’s difficult,”

“Once this phase passes, if you ever need anything, you can come to the Abyss to find me, though not for free assistance—only if there’s a suitable deal involved. I love making deals more than anything.”

Chao Yan pulled out a dark, murky mass from his body, which then transformed into a black token in his hand.

Chao Yan handed this token to Ling Feng and calmly said, “This is a token forged from my aura. If you ever go to the Abyss, holding this token will allow you free passage within.”

“After all, as the second Demon God, I still hold some sway in the Abyss,” Chao Yan remarked confidently with a grin.

Ling Feng looked at the dark token and raised a critical question: “You’ve been sealed for ten thousand years. Are you sure your influence in the Abyss still holds?”

Chao Yan was slightly taken aback, feeling a bit awkward, “Though the competition in the Abyss is fierce, I’m confident that the landscape hasn’t changed too drastically over the years, and you’re not planning to visit me in the Abyss just now, are you?”

“Once my strength fully recovers, I’ll reclaim everything that once belonged to me in the Abyss!” Chao Yan’s eyes radiated determination.

Ling Feng was momentarily stunned, then chuckled dryly, “Well, then I wish you good luck. I’ll definitely seek you out in the Abyss if a deal arises in the future.”

Chao Yan nodded, then tore open the crack behind him and departed.

After Chao Yan left, the cave entrance on the ground closed up, and now it appeared as if no crack had ever existed—it looked as if the door had never been there.

Ling Feng speculated that the Magic Mirror and the island sealing Chao Yan in the Netherworld Void had vanished, thus causing the entrance to disappear naturally as well.

At this moment, he couldn’t help but ponder why there was such an entrance and passage in the back mountain of the Shui Clan. Ling Feng believed that neither Chao Yan nor the human Lu Wutong were likely people of the Nine Nether, nor were they probably from the Nine Provinces.

Chao Yan came from the rebellious demon clan of the Abyss, while Lu Wutong could perhaps belong to another world’s human race. Such powerful beings typically commanded great strength but lacked profound backgrounds, and Ling Feng always felt that prominent clans wouldn’t produce such seemingly maverick geniuses.

Ling Feng pondered while glancing up, noticing that the hole in the wall still existed, emitting a faint ripple outwards.

Ling Feng was slightly confused; he had suspected that this entrance in the wall also led to Chao Yan’s sealed location, but that assumption was now negated. The entrance on the ground had shut tight; the island had crumbled, and the Magic Mirror had vanished. If the hole on the wall also led to the Netherworld Void, it should have closed by now.

Yet, it remained open. Ling Feng gazed at the entrance, hearing no sound from within. The portal looked odd; the last time Chao Yan had lured him in with the Chaos Sword to unlock the sword, which was why he had entered.

This time, however, there was nothing about the portal attracting Ling Feng inside. He even doubted whether he could leave if he went in. After all, he had relied on Chao Yan’s space-tearing abilities to exit the Netherworld Void earlier, otherwise, he might have struggled to get out.

Thus, when Ling Feng saw the portal still open, he had no desire to enter. He didn’t even want to look at it because each glance made him feel as if his soul was being sucked inside.

While Ling Feng sat cross-legged on the ground, eyes closed, contemplating recent events and resting, the portal suddenly echoed with Ling Yao’s call:

“Feng, how are your injuries?”

Ling Feng opened his eyes and, after some thought, ultimately decided to leave. Although he felt his healing time was insufficient, since he had explored most of the cave’s circumstances, there was no need to stay any longer.

As for the hole in the wall, Ling Feng decided he’d examine it again after resolving the World-breaking Transmission issue.

He adjusted his clothes and stepped out, feeling the warmth of Ling Yao’s concerned gaze.

“Feng, are your injuries better?” Ling Yao inquired.

Ling Feng nodded, “Though troublesome, fortunately, they’re still treatable.”

Upon hearing Ling Feng’s words, Ling Yao sighed with relief and nodded, “You scared me! You’ve been in there for several days with no news, and I didn’t dare disturb you. I even feared something might have happened to you.”

Ling Feng’s face changed dramatically, asking in shock, “What? You said I’ve been inside for several days?”

“Yes! Counting today, it’s precisely seven days,” Ling Yao nodded.

Ling Feng was greatly alarmed; clearly, he had been in the cave for less than a few hours, so how had it already been several days? From entering the cave to entering the Netherworld Void and then emerging, it took barely three hours.

How could it possibly have been seven days?!
