Tidalview.

When Yvonne Lowell walked out of the bathroom, she saw a certain big shot lounging lazily on the sofa, playing with her beaded bracelet.

His damp, half-dry hair was plastered to his forehead. It looked like he had already showered next door.

Whether intentional or not, he had undone the top three buttons of his loungewear, revealing a hint of his fair chest and delicate collarbones.

’Tsk, I want to bite it. If that were a rack of braised pork ribs... it would be delicious!’

Yvonne Lowell paused drying her hair. "You’re up so early today. Are you two done with your chat?"

Ever since Leo Grant had returned from his business trip, he had become much more talkative around the Leogryph. Yvonne found his attentiveness strangely excessive.

Examples of his talkativeness included, but were not limited to:

Before leaving in the morning, after saying goodbye to her, he would have to give the lion’s head a good rub. "Leogryph, you take good care of Mommy at home. See you after work."

When he came home from work, he would start calling out the moment he walked in the door: "Sweetheart, Leogryph, I’m home."

After dinner, once the dishes were cleared: "Come on, Leogryph. Daddy’s taking you for a walk."

And these walks would last a minimum of half an hour, with no upper limit.

’Is my house really that big? How can those two, with their long limbs, not finish a walk in half an hour? Well, okay, I guess they really can’t.’

But in contrast, Grimfang, the little wolf cub he brought back, was just left all alone across the way for Silas Lynch and Ian Lynch to look after. Or he’d have Nolan Crawford take it over to play with Haha. Was that fair?!

If he hadn’t missed the trip back to her family home a while ago, Yvonne Lowell would have thought he’d been assimilated by that group of old patriarchs in the Lowell family.

But what Yvonne Lowell found strangest was that she had, on several occasions, seen the two of them sitting in the backyard, whispering to each other.

It was mostly Leo Grant talking and the Leogryph listening.

The Leogryph would even chime in from time to time, though not often.

She had asked the two what on earth they were chatting about, and she still remembered the excuse Leo Grant gave her at the time:

"You’re about to turn twenty, you know. I have to hurry up and get it on my side. What if it won’t let you go then? Maybe if I chat with it about life every day, say some nice things, and cultivate our father-son bond, it might work?"

So she didn’t ask any more questions and just let them be.

’After all, I’m the only normal one left in this house. I can’t let myself get infected too.’

’If you can’t beat them, run. That was her motto, a lifelong principle learned from experience.’

"It didn’t seem to be in high spirits today, so we didn’t chat much. I sent it back to its room."

Leo Grant put down the bracelet and shifted to the side. "Come here, I’ll dry your hair."

Leogryph: ’You’re so high and mighty, aren’t you? How dare you use me and toss me aside, then blame it all on me! Serves you right if you never get a wife!’

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow and compliantly went over to sit down.

"President Grant is so considerate toward the Leogryph. As its biological mother, I feel a little inadequate."

Leo Grant took the towel, gave her a light peck on the lips, and said in a husky voice, "Is Director Lowell feeling jealous of the Leogryph?"

"What’s there for me to be jealous of? I don’t even get jealous of people, let alone a lion," Yvonne Lowell said, rolling her eyes irritably.

’She couldn’t ask for a better free nanny for her "child," okay?’

"I can’t be so sure about that. After all, it’s not like I’ve ever managed to make Director Lowell jealous over another person, have I?"

Leo Grant said nonchalantly, skillfully drying the water from her hair.

Yvonne Lowell shot him a sideways glance. "You sure have a lot of tricks up your sleeve."

Leogryph: ’...It feels pretty helpless sometimes when your own mother spreads lewd rumors about you.’

’Come one, come all! Step right up and see! All you good and honorable sirs, come and judge for yourselves! Who’s the one who really has a lot of tricks up their sleeve?!’

"Can’t you think something good about me for once?" Leo Grant said, his tone flirtatious as he gripped her chin between his thumb and forefinger.

"But sweetheart, you seem to know a lot about this sort of thing. If you like it a little wilder, maybe we can do some exploring and learn from each other in the future? Hmm?"

"Let go! You greasy...!" her voice came out as a garbled mumble.

Yvonne Lowell raised a hand to slap his paw away, but he caught both of her hands, pinning them.

"Greasy? Like greasy pork trotters? Or fried fish? Are you hungry? I’ll have someone buy some tomorrow. How do you want them cooked?" A teasing smile spread across Leo Grant’s face.

"Tsk, that lisp of yours sounds just like when you wanted to kidnap me and take me home as a kid. What was it you used to say? Oh, right. You called me ’Deh-deh’. ’Deh-deh’ this, ’Deh-deh’ that. Why don’t you say it again for me?"

"Leo Grant! Let go right now, or I’m going to get angry!" she threatened, her voice still distorted by his hold.

Yvonne Lowell glared at him, her beautiful eyes burning with anger, and her feet weren’t idle either—she landed several kicks on him in quick succession.

Leo Grant barely felt any pain. It was more like being scratched by a kitten, sending a tingling sensation all over his body.

Still, he obediently let go. After all, if he really pissed her off, he wouldn’t just be sleeping in the guest room—he probably wouldn’t even be allowed back in the villa.

When he released her and saw the faint pink fingerprints on her cheek, a flash of remorse crossed his eyes, and his brow furrowed slightly.

"So delicate. I wasn’t even using any force."

"Pink is delicate and tender, which suits me perfectly right now. Little Leo, no more dawdling. Quickly, dry this one’s hair."

Yvonne Lowell waved his hand away and said lightly.

It didn’t actually hurt, or else Leo Grant wouldn’t still be sitting there in one piece.

’That was just her skin type—a natural beauty. What could she do? There was nothing she could do about it.’

"Yes, Your Highness. I will be sure to serve you well and make you comfortable tonight."

Leo Grant took the hairdryer from under the coffee table and stood up, deliberately emphasizing the last few words.

’If he’d known, he would have tied her to his hip and taken her to work with him every day.’

’It would save her from watching palace intrigue dramas all day. How many times had he played along with this empress-and-eunuch roleplay? Who the hell was that damn emperor supposed to be?!’

After drying her hair, Leo Grant pulled her into his arms.

"Sweetheart, the day after tomorrow, how about you watch a few fewer episodes of your drama and clear your schedule for me from the afternoon onward?"

"Oh? You want to ask me out?" Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. It’s been so long since we went on a date. Give me a chance?"

Leo Grant rested his head on her neck and nuzzled it, his short hair tickling her.

"Tsk, you Grant! Are you a reincarnated dog demon or something!?"

Yvonne Lowell irritably pushed his dog-like head away. She had no idea where he picked up this bad habit of nuzzling everything all day long.

Anyone in the know would realize she was in a relationship, but anyone who didn’t would think she’d gotten a dog.

Leo Grant rested his head on her again. "I may not be a dog demon, but I do have a powerful core. Isn’t that basically the same thing?"

Yvonne Lowell’s mouth twitched. ’Bad pun. Points deducted!’

"Silence means you agree. Let’s go, it’s getting late. Time for bed!"

Leo Grant swept her up in his arms and started walking toward the bed.

Yvonne "Giant Koala" Lowell: ’...Who am I? Where am I? Where am I going? What did I just say?’
