The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered
Chapter 311: That's Just Being Dramatic
Yvonne Lowell’s lips curled into a smirk. She did as he said, this time aiming the fire directly at Lance Young’s abdomen.
Oh, those tender arms, that soft belly, those delicate legs… The flames made a SIZZLING sound as they touched his skin, just like meat on a barbecue.
Immediately after, another round of bloodcurdling screams and howls erupted.
Nina Jennings bit her lip to stifle a laugh while hiding behind Silas Lynch. ‘Anyone who saw this couple would have to admit they were a match made in heaven, right?’
‘Both are just as twisted, just as crazy, just as deranged.’
It was obvious Yvonne Lowell was doing it on purpose. She wasn’t deaf. If something as simple as pinpointing a location by sound was too difficult for her, she’d have no business being Falcon.
It was nothing more than her wicked sense of humor flaring up, so she played along with Leo Grant’s little act.
By the time Yvonne Lowell had had her fun, Lance Young had nearly screamed his throat raw.
If he deliberately dodged, the flames would hit his unprotected skin directly.
But if he didn’t dodge, he’d have to face the terror of being burned by the fire.
Besides, having his body frozen was already agonizing enough. Forcing him to also experience the ice melting on his skin was undoubtedly a doubly compounded form of torture.
“See? Some people are just drama queens. I barely even touched you. I have no idea what you’re screaming about.”
Glancing at the useless heap on the floor, who was breathing more out than in, Yvonne Lowell turned to Nina Jennings.
“Aren’t you going to patch him up? If he kicks the bucket too early, how is Third supposed to have his fun later?”
“Don’t call me Third!” Zachary Jacobs dared to protest, but not with any real anger.
Zachary Jacobs: ‘Fine, fine. So even when you’re having a deep sisterly moment, you still have to drag me into it, huh?!’
Nina Jennings didn’t even spare Lance Young a glance, calmly stating,
“Don’t worry, he’s a tough one. He’s managed to cling to life for so many years; he won’t be dying anytime soon.”
Yvonne Lowell propped her hands on a wooden crate behind her and hoisted herself up to sit on it. She motioned for Felix Knight to pull the man up.
“Since you’re not dying, how about we have a little chat? Old friend.”
Felix Knight followed her lead, dragging Lance Young over to a nearby crate and propping him up against it, directly facing Yvonne Lowell.
The others also made themselves comfortable—some sitting, some leaning, some squatting. Only Leo Grant remained standing by Yvonne Lowell’s side.
The former was because they were short on time and the environment was too crude for chairs.
As for the latter… he had brought it on himself. Wearing a formal suit on his day off just to meet his future in-laws. Serves him right!
Lance Young was panting heavily. Hearing her words, he twisted his lips into a sneer.
“What is there for me to talk about with you?”
“Nothing to talk about with me? Fine, whatever. As long as *I* have things to talk about with *you*. After all, I have a lot of questions that I need you, the *former* Number 1, to answer for me.”
Yvonne Lowell deliberately emphasized the word “former.”
She had noticed that Lance Young seemed to care a great deal about that title. This was probably one of the reasons the bastard hated her.
Sure enough, Lance Young’s defenses crumbled again.
“Shut up! I am Number 1! I will always be Number 1!”
“Tsk, how can you be so naive at your age? You must have forgotten—that place is a revolving door. The fighting pit is permanent, but Number 1 is always changing,” Zachary Jacobs couldn’t resist retorting.
“What would you slaves know?! I was born different from you! My bloodline is far nobler than your wretched kind!”
Lance Young roared as if possessed, then suddenly broke into a savage grin, his eyes glinting with a pathological fury.
“If I hadn’t allowed it, you wouldn’t even be worthy of breathing the same air as me! How dare you have the audacity to speak to me like this now?!”
Yvonne Lowell discreetly made a hand signal, telling the others not to argue, and continued to probe him without showing any emotion.
“You were just like us, captured to be a Hex-worm. You were just there a few years longer than we were. What gives you the right to feel superior?”
“Heh, Number 7, I’m not an idiot. I know you’re testing me. What do you know? Even if they were raising Hex-worms, I was meant to be the final Hex King!”
Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help but twitch her lips. ‘Not an idiot? Really?’
‘Because he sure looks like one…’
Then, his tone shifted abruptly.
“But… in my current state, it seems I don’t have the right to choose. Fine. Since it’s come to this, I’ll satisfy your little request and answer your questions. Did you know? My mission was actually to kill all four of you little pieces of trash, one by one! And then kill all the other pieces of trash! I would have been the final winner! But I never expected it! I only killed the first one, and you suddenly grew so strong! Oh, no, that’s not right. When that girl died, you were still ranked below fifty. Then you suddenly shot into the top ten. I really, really hate people like you who improve at lightning speed! Everyone told me I wasn’t as good as you! On what grounds?! If I had known, I would have beaten those two to death as well. That way, you would have improved even faster, and then I could have killed you! Hahaha, everyone who gets in my way deserves to die…”
“Hold it.” Yvonne Lowell raised a hand to stop his unhinged rant.
“I’m not interested in your brainless little sob story. I just want to know, after I beat you to a pulp back then, why didn’t you die? And how did you take those photos?”
“Ohh, you mean that? Didn’t I just say? It’s because my status is higher than yours. I had more power in there, more than you lowly people could ever imagine…”
BANG!
Lance Young was in the middle of his gleeful sermon when a new, gushing wound appeared on his thigh. He jerked his head up to look at the girl opposite him.
“What are you doing?! Are you crazy?!”
“What, never heard of public decency? You’re a grown man, spewing filth all over the place. What’s the matter with you? You’re a public eyesore! Besides, can’t you even understand the question? Did you not hear what I asked? You get reprimanded for giving an irrelevant answer, you know?”
Yvonne Lowell said nonchalantly, leisurely twirling the gun in her hand.
Leo Grant glanced sideways at the two legs dangling next to him. ‘Tsk, he wanted to see the view from the top of the crate, too.’
Seeing that Lance Young seemed to be bleeding a bit too heavily, Nina Jennings reluctantly stepped forward with her silver needles and stuck him a few times.
She complained out loud, “Take it easy. You almost hit an artery.”
“But I didn’t hit it, did I? I’ll be more careful next time,” Yvonne Lowell shrugged indifferently.
“Besides, weren’t you the one who said it? The guy’s tough. He won’t be dying anytime soon.”
Nina Jennings pouted. ‘Oh, whatever. The kid’s still young; it’s normal for her to be mischievous and playful.’
‘A love for playing is in every child’s nature. Let her play.’
‘She plays until one of them can’t make a peep, and in the end, it’s me who has to stick them with needles.’
‘As if she, the great Divine Doctor, Michael White, couldn’t snatch that bastard Lance Young’s worthless life back from the King of Hell?’
‘Worst case, I could just send him back to His Lordship later.’
