The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered

Chapter 313: A Mouth Smeared with Poison

  • Next Chapter

Stifled laughter came from behind her, and Yvonne Lowell turned back to glare at them, annoyed.

“What the hell is so funny? You’re interrupting our little reunion.”

Everyone quickly stifled their laughter. ‘But could you blame them? Even her insults were so damn creative.’

Only Nina Jennings was unfazed, saying with a wide grin,

“I couldn’t help it, okay? Your words are so venomous, it’s like your lips are coated in crane’s beak red. You could poison someone to death just by opening your mouth.”

“Hmph. Don’t worry. I’m not cursing at you, and I’m not kissing you, so you’re safe from my poison.”

Yvonne Lowell rolled her eyes at her.

Nina Jennings crossed her arms, glancing at a certain someone with a smirk.

“Well, I wouldn’t mind. Besides, I know the antidote.”

‘Hold on, what kind of shameless things are you two talking about?’

‘This is The Killing Zone, not some No Man’s Land!!’

‘Besides the half-dead guy on the ground, there are other men here!!’

‘Oh, wait, scratch that. Everyone here is a guy except for you two!!’

‘And don’t you both have acquaintances present?’

‘You know, the kind of friends you kiss.’

Regardless… the guys all gave Leo Grant a thumbs-up in unison.

‘He’s already getting desensitization training. He’ll be immune to all poisons in no time.’

Leo Grant: ‘…Wow?’

The burning gaze from the man on the floor was hard to ignore. He was trembling in pain, his eyes rolling back in his head, but he was still glaring at Yvonne Lowell.

Yvonne Lowell slapped her forehead as if in sudden realization. “Oh, look at me. I was so happy to see you that I got carried away chatting and almost forgot the most important part of the procedure. Thank you for answering all my questions tonight. And oh, your deep love and longing for your father, Caesar… it truly moved me. So, as a token of my gratitude and as a blessing, I’ve decided to let you experience firsthand just how he died.”

“Ngh!”

Lance Young squirmed, trying to back away, but his back was already pressed against a wooden crate.

Although Caesar had brainwashed him successfully, and he did feel a sort of innate, child-like love for the man, he had also inherited all of Caesar’s worst traits.

He could tell himself day and night how good Caesar had been to him, he could constantly recall their past moments together, and he could even plot against Yvonne Lowell for Caesar’s sake.

But wasn’t it all, in the end, for himself?

He reminisced about Caesar because he needed an emotional anchor to keep living. He targeted Yvonne Lowell because as long as she was alive, the past would constantly eat away at his mind, reminding him of just how powerless he truly was.

Ultimately, the only person he loved was himself.

“Shhh, don’t be afraid. I’m not going to kill you. I’m just letting you have a little taste.”

Yvonne Lowell placed her index finger to her lips and stared directly into his eyes, where silver vortexes suddenly began to swirl.

THUD.

Lance Young collapsed to the ground in agony, his face beet red and his eyes rolling back in his head as his body began to convulse uncontrollably.

Nolan Crawford nudged Zachary Jacobs with his elbow and whispered,

“Holy crap, my eyes have truly been opened today. So this is the true power of a Spiritual Ability, huh? Compared to this, the way she helped Warren Lynch awaken his superpower and how she interrogated that person last time seem like child’s play.”

Hypnosis, Illusion Realms, direct attacks… If she wanted, she could even use her superpower to control her target’s mind and body.

Not to mention her spiritual power was absurdly strong.

Offense, defense, and support… Who the hell gets a power-up this broken?!

Zachary Jacobs gave him a cryptic look. “Easy there, kid. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

‘In fact, if Yvonne Lowell had wanted to, she could have killed him the instant their eyes met.’

‘But the dual torture of body and mind, forcing someone to teeter on the brink of death, is often far more agonizing.’

‘At a time like this, death is what he would truly want.’

Nolan Crawford opened his mouth, but in the end, said nothing. He just silently took a step back.

‘Can’t mess with her. Definitely can’t mess with her.’

Seeing that it was about enough, Yvonne Lowell retracted her superpower.

She smiled sweetly at him and said, “So? How was it? Not too bad, right? Now look at the burn marks on your body. Every single one corresponds to a stab wound I left on Caesar all those years ago. Anyway, that’s how Caesar died. I’ve given you a full demonstration now, so don’t you dare doubt me again, okay?”

‘Back then, she had only just awakened her superpower, and her spiritual power was unstable. Just knocking Caesar to the ground had left her drenched in a cold sweat.’

‘Plus, she had to conserve her strength to escape, so she’d simply grabbed the dagger he carried and stabbed him with it relentlessly.’

‘She had long since forgotten the order and the exact number of stabs. Oh well, he’d just have to make do with a rough approximation of the pain.’

Lance Young: ‘A rough approximation… ISN’T MY LIFE WORTH ANYTHING?!’

Hearing this, Leo Grant froze for a second, his gaze subconsciously drifting to the blackened burn marks on Lance Young’s body.

A resigned smile touched his lips. ‘Looks like I was just part of the audience for her little game,’ he thought.

“Nghh…”

Lance Young’s body was still trembling uncontrollably, his eyes filled with despair.

‘After all these years, was he still no match for her?’

‘He had finally managed to get a new identity to live on, with an education, a job, a comfortable life… He had just started a new chapter of his life.’

But all of it was about to burst like a bubble, because he knew with absolute certainty that he wouldn’t be leaving this place alive.

‘Maybe he shouldn’t have come to Aurelia to provoke her. At least, not yet.’

“Alright, I’m done playing with you. My dad’s waiting for me to come home.”

Yvonne Lowell was about to stand up, but she suddenly paused, leaning in closer to him to whisper,

“By the way, remember what I told you earlier? About how I’ve always been Number 1? I wasn’t lying about that part. It’s just not that worthless title you coveted but could never get. After all, I wouldn’t be caught dead with it. Let me formally introduce myself one last time… Hello. I am Aurelia’s TE-Rank Commander, Number 1, Yvonne Lowell.”

With that, she ignored his stunned expression and stood up.

She even made a zipping motion across her lips, a gesture for him to keep her secret.

Lance Young: ‘…Did you forget you gagged me? And I’m about to die! How the hell is a dead man supposed to leak secrets?!’

Yvonne Lowell tossed the gun in her hand to Zachary Jacobs. “I’ve had my fun. Your turn.”

Zachary Jacobs caught the gun and was about to chamber a round when he realized the safety was already off.

“Holy shit, it’s hot?! Doesn’t my life mean anything to you, Lowell?!”

“Look at you, what a coward. You think a gun I designed would accidentally discharge?”

Yvonne Lowell rolled her eyes in annoyance.

‘Fine… Getting chewed out whether he was right or wrong. That was just his fate.’

Zachary Jacobs took out his phone. Seeing the time—12:27 AM—he hesitated no longer, pulling the trigger on Lance Young again and again.

He didn’t stop until the magazine was empty.

Lance Young’s body was riddled with bullet holes, his breathing long since ceased.
