The Kind of Evil
Chapter 648: Restricted and Unrestricted.
Sanya entered the Land of Orthias with Lucifer and his brethren. Every Orthias was standing on guard to receive the guests, but there was no warmth, only hostility. They stared at Lucifer and the others, who possessed the bodies of their kin with coldness. The bodies that were supposed to disintegrate and be reborn into new Orthias, now they were being possessed by something vile in their eyes.
Lucifer glanced up at the dark clouds, where an immense amount of Mana filled the land. She was capable of manipulating Mana due to the nature of Orthias, the body she possessed. However, the Mana that veiled the land, it didn’t react to her or her bretheren. She realized the Mana in this place was being manipulated and wouldn’t be freely given to anyone that entered the land.
While Lucifer was still thinking of whom or what controlled that massive amount of Mana, the Mana within her body was being pulled out forcefully. She couldn’t prevent it from happening as if she had entered a domain where power and will were stripped and ceased to exist. She looked over her shoulders at his bretheren, and their Mana was being sucked out of their bodies as well. That feeling and moment, it reminded them of their rebellion against God, and it was an unpleasant feeling.
"I can easily push your existence out of that body that you’re currently possess right now, but I will not," Sanya spoke as she kept walking, guiding Lucifer and the others into the city of Orthias, where the buildings were like black castles that pierced through the sky. "Let’s just say we allow you to borrow them for now," she added.
Lucifer and the others were stripped of their power, and they were not stronger than mere humans. Hearing that from Sanya, Lucifer and the others felt insulted, but they chose silence because they were there as envoys of Satan. If only they possessed their old powers, they wouldn’t even bother to care about Mana being sucked out of their bodies.
They walked deeper into the city, and Orthias, that was already twice the size of humans, looked like ants inside the city because of how big the structures were. Lucifer only saw the land from Illidan’s memories from the body she possessed, but she never thought it would be this immense and it eerily reminded her of the heavens.
As they went further, there were no sign of Orthias around them, they were alone with Sanya. If she wanted them dead, she could do it and nobody would know, but she didn’t. However, their thoughts were distracted when they felt a faint energy coming from one of the buildings in front of them. The energy that didn’t belong to this land, and something they were familiar with, divine energy.
Sanya suddenly stopped walking as soon as she took a step on the stairs. She stared at the sky when she felt a faint disruption in the Mana she controlled. Her eyes flinched slightly and slowly she turned around and her suspicion was correct. She saw her again, the being who Lucifer and the others called Master, standing among them in the center with Ermaine standing beside her.
"My my... what a lovely place you have here," Satan admired the gothic architecture that pierced through the sky.
Sanya wasn’t the only one who was surprised to see Satan there, Lucifer and the others were shocked that she came. Unlike Lucifer and his brethren, Satan wasn’t affected by the law of this land. They all looked up and noticed the dark clouds were slowly covered in darkness, like it were being enveloped by shadows. Slowly but surely, the area around them grew darker and darker, leaving only small areas that weren’t covered in shadows.
"Why are you here?" Sanya asked and stared right into Satan’s golden eyes.
"I planned to visit you in the first place, but I knew that if the Orthias saw me coming, it would be a problem for you. That’s why, I’m here now, away from the eyes that are watching," Satan answered with a smile painted on her face.
"But what you did is quite the opposite of what you wanted," Sanya glanced at the shadows and the clouds that were growing darker.
"It seems I have forgotton about my nature," Satan spoke as she slowly pushed the shadows away, preventing them from engulfing the land. "It’s because I have regained my restricted power ever since I came down to this world that I almost forgot that my nature is... unpleasant," she added.
Sanya’s mind was stuck with two of Satan’s words, regained and restricted. She didn’t know that Satan’s power was restricted, but what worried her was the fact that it was lifted. She didn’t need to ask because she knew if something was no longer restricted, it had become necessary. With that conclusion alone, she realized that the danger and the threat she had prepared to face for centuries were now already standing at the door. It was an indirect warning from Satan that the angels had solidified their position and would bring the calamity that brought extinction to the True Dragons.
"Now, I swear in God’s name that we are here just to see what you have hidden from the rest of the world, nothing else. Of course, if we wanted to do something about it, we would ask about it first and we wouldn’t do it if you didn’t want to," Satan raised her right hand and her fingers pointed straight to the sky.
Sanya didn’t say a word and continued to take the long stairs ahead of her. She didn’t need to tell them to follow because they were already glued to her back. The building that they were about to enter was nothing like the rest, it was a small tower, but the Mana around it was thicker. She stood in front of the wall and simply flicked her hand when the wall suddenly opened like a door. To their surprise, it wasn’t a wall, it was a door, but without any visible gap because of how precise Sanya made that door.
Satan and the others watched Sanya manipulate not just the Mana but the whole tower like it was her own limbs. They watched the stairs coming out of the walls and light was produced on the walls that gave the same effect as the sunlight entered the dark space. It was the same reason why nobody could enter the tower because it only obeyed her command.
When they reached the middle floor of the tower, Sanya revealed a door and opened it. Satan slowly raised her brows when she saw a man being entangled by glowing roots. She could see the roots had become one with the man’s skin and flesh. The man was neither unconscious nor conscious, neither dead nor alive.
"What have you done to him?" Satan asked.
"I made him immortal," Sanya answered in a flat tone. "He’s alive, he will be alive," she pointed out.
"Such a method exist. Shemyaza might love to see this," Satan chuckled softly as she observed the man by walking around him.
Ermaine looked at the man and she wasn’t terrified by his appearance, she was more intrigued with the immense amount of divine energy the man on his knees possessed.
"Who is he?" Ermaine looked at Sanya.
Sanya stood in front of the man, staring down at him and gently put her hand under his chin to lift it up and to meet her gaze. The man was unresponsive, but he was breathing.
"This man’s name is Kilen, Kilen Zevrathi. The fifth Saint of the Zevrathi family, the one that ordere humans to hunt Orthias by the name of his God centuries ago..." Sanya muttered, her eyes began to glow bright blue.
"The Zevrathi? Is that the one that serve the angels, mother?" Ermaine looked at Satan, and it was the first time she saw Satan grinning in joy.
"Yes... they are..." Satan’s eyes began to glow when she stared at the man’s eyes.
