Chapter 1610: Telling The Celestial Supreme to Wait
Chapter 1610: Telling The Celestial Supreme to Wait
Klaus’s communication device started to ring just three days into his journey.
On the display, he saw that the caller was the beautiful Supreme Engineer Winnie.
He smiled and answered, "I don’t suppose you miss me so much that you’ve decided to call, Supreme Engineer Winnie?" Klaus asked with a smile, causing the poor lady, who had never been flirted with before, to blush.
However, she quickly recovered and glared at Klaus. "Stop the jokes, Disciple Klaus. I called because you have been summoned by the Celestial Supreme."
"Oh." Klaus furrowed his brow, not expecting to hear something this unexpected yet perfectly normal. He had already anticipated that, sooner or later, he would be called by the one person he wanted to see.
However, he never expected it to happen this early. Still, he wasn’t too surprised either.
"How urgently does he need me?" Klaus asked.
"Right now would do. You have to turn around and head to Planet Primus-IV. It will take you about ten days. The Supreme Guards will take you to the Celestial Supreme through a special transport channel."
"I see." Klaus thought for a moment before making a decision. "Tell them to meet me in the Elven Galaxy instead. I have a mission, and I must complete it before going anywhere."
"But..."
"No buts, Headmistress. I am a hunter, and a hunter never abandons his mission. Also, before you say I can go to the Celestial Supreme first and then return to my mission, know that lives are at stake, so I will take my mission over his summons any day.
Plus, he is not going anywhere, so where is the rush?"
Supreme Engineer Winnie could only take a deep breath and nod. She couldn’t believe a mere True Immortal had the audacity to tell the Celestial Supreme to wait while he handled his mission first.
But then again, there is a time for everything, and right now, Klaus had a more pressing matter to deal with.
If only both of them knew that, at this very moment, the Celestial Supreme was under pressure to deliver twelve capable warriors to become vessels for his lord.
His ambitions had made him greedy for power, and that greed had led him astray, causing him to deviate from the Heavens Court’s mission.
The Heavens Court was established to become a beacon of hope for all life in the Universe.
During the Primordial Era, it fulfilled that role. It also continued its mission throughout the Divine Era. However, all of its values went out the window at the beginning of the Blood Era, when they tried to suppress the Paragon and later killed his entire family.
It only got worse from there.
Now, despite being the very reason the Foreign Race was slowly advancing, his greed for power had clouded his judgment, and he was making a desperate bid to retain that power.
Klaus wasn’t the only one he had planned to sacrifice for his own gain. He intended to do the same to many others.
Unbeknownst to him, his decision to include Klaus as one of the twelve host candidates he had selected for his lord would mark the beginning of his end.
Klaus wanted to know what was rotten within the Heavens Court, and now, he would. However, one thing was also certain: he would finally discover what would trigger the three endings that Destiny had shown him.
Without even knowing it, the catalyst that would trigger the end and herald the arrival of the 4th great catastrophe would soon be initiated.
***
Inside Klaus’s soul sea, his four Primordial Flame Spirits were still hard at work, actively improving the Primordial Lotus of Destruction and adding the third layer, which would contain four flame petals, each housing trillions of Extreme-Rank Forbidden Flames runes.
Asura and Knox remained inside his soul sea, monitoring everything, while the rest of the incarnations had returned to their missions.
Rhazor was still inside the God Ascension Trial, while Kaden had returned to his training. Surprisingly, he arrived to find the six Calamity Guards training with a clone of Hanna on the second floor of the Inheritance Tower, so he joined them.
Efad had also returned to his mission. He was close to clearing the fourth Void Vortex. Now that he had witnessed just how powerful the elements were, he planned to use this time to improve the Light Element and make it even more powerful.
His mission was critical, so he was taking his time to make sure nothing went wrong.
Already, he was inching closer to the Transcendent Stage in Void Comprehension. Once that milestone was reached, his speed in clearing the remaining Void Vortexes would increase significantly.
But while all this was happening, his Paragon incarnation had also returned to Planet Caelmir and called an emergency meeting to discuss an issue with some of the high-ranking members of his Beast Legion.
The meeting venue was, of course, the Caelmir Royal Hall, and in attendance were some of the most dangerous Supremes and Celestials in the Universe.
As for his wives, since they had been tasked with gathering all three Asura Keys, he didn’t inform them of this meeting. However, Nari, who stayed behind to bond with her two Calamity sisters, Ignitia and Aleera, was in attendance.
Nari had now become a Supreme, so her powers as a True Universe Calamity had awakened, making her even more dangerous than before.
After everyone was seated, Orion started to reveal the reason behind the meeting.
"So, I have been summoned by the Celestial Supreme," he said, and everyone in the hall raised their brows.
"When?" Hunter, his father, asked.
"Today. He wants to meet me urgently."
Everyone sighed, knowing the outcome of what Orion had just revealed was uncertain. However, Orion seemed to have a different perspective. In fact, his next words made everyone wonder if he had already anticipated this summons.
"I believe this meeting is the one I have been waiting for. It is my chance to finally figure out what is rotten inside the Heavens Court."
"Why do you think so?" King Alric asked.
"Because being summoned just a few days after I experienced two major shifts that threaten the heavenly dao isn’t normal. The Heavens Court had no idea I was the Paragon. However, they sensed that I had first escaped the cage the Heavenly Dao had placed around me. And second, one of my incarnations has already stepped onto the path of godhood."
"It has?" Lady Elysia, his mother, asked, as Orion nodded with a smile.
"One of my incarnations is undergoing the Ascension Trial as we speak. Soon, I will become a god, something that has never happened before in the history of this Universe."
Everyone nodded. There had never been a single account stating that the Paragon had become a God, Supreme, or Celestial before. So this was indeed a tremendous boon.
However, while his becoming a god seemed to call for celebration, one issue still lingered: why had the Celestial Supreme summoned Klaus?
"Master, I think your life is in danger," Aleera said, her eyes narrowing slightly.
Hearing her words and seeing the expression on her face, Orion smiled and nodded. "Oh, believe me, I know. After all, for the Heavens Court to sense that the Paragon had escaped the net of the Heavenly Dao, the very person who tampered with the Heavenly Dao in the first place must have informed them. So, summoning me was a decision made by that person."
