The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse
Chapter 1798: Return of the Asura Race (25)
[15 minutes before the gate opens - five minutes before Axarax summoned the 8th Primordial]
Tasha had been meditating for a while now, wanting to get used to her strength before Efad returned from the God Ascension Trial.
She was eager to get revenge on her siblings, at whose hands she had died in her past life. Because of that, she didn’t join the battle raging somewhere in the Primus Universe.
However, she was a Paragon Star Light, so whenever the Paragon was threatened, she was supposed to know. Just now, she sensed that Klaus’s life was threatened, so she moved to change that.
At the same time, Hanna and Nyrela, who were with Klaus on the battlefield, felt the danger as well, so the three immediately devised a plan to handle it.
"We are limited in what we can do, so how about we call for reinforcements instead?" Hanna suggested, and the two ladies nodded.
"I can sense a fourth Star Light, but she is far from us. We can try to reach her, but it would take some time," Nyrela said, squinting her eyes a bit, as if she were straining her mind to locate the presence she could sense but just couldn’t seem to connect with.
"We are Paragon Star Lights, beings deeply connected to the Paragon. Although we cannot talk to her, I am sure she can sense us and follow her instincts like we are now. So let’s follow through with the plan, and let’s hope she does too."
Thus, five minutes later, just when Klaus saw despair, four portals opened.
From the first portal, King Alastor, clad in his infamous red and white striped battle armor, practically ran out, swinging a giant sword at the closest Chaos Beasts.
"Grandpa," Orion called out, seeing his grandfather—Hunter’s father—appear on the battlefield.
"Oh, hey, kiddo, sorry for being late. We tried several times to teleport here, but something kept blocking us." Just as King Alastor said that, hundreds of thousands of Asura Demons poured out through the portal, each jumping into battle right as they appeared.
"You are right on time, Gramps."
"Hey, I am also here, Klaus," Queen Ophelia, Klaus’s grandmother, said, stabbing a pair of daggers into the eye of a Celestial Chaos Beast.
"Granny, take care of Gramps for me," Orion said with a smile.
Just now, he had a frown on his face, but with the appearance of his two grandparents and their warriors, he had become a bit more relaxed.
His uncle, Azai, had also appeared, and following him were the other five siblings Hunter had been dreading to meet.
Aside from Azai, the rest were pissed that Hunter didn’t come to them for help when the Heavens Court was after him.
It was why, when he returned, and they learned he was back, they all left their posts on the Ancient Battlefield and returned home.
Now, they’d arrived on this battlefield, and everyone could only wonder what had changed about the Blood Demons.
Well, now they were Asura Demons, since Klaus had changed their bloodline.
Though not at the level of the Asura Race, they were also more powerful than their previous selves. From the start of the battle until now, they had each been clenching their fists because they weren’t there for the Paragon, who was like an heir to their race.
Now, they also have the chance to aid him using their strength.
But they weren’t the only ones who had appeared.
From another portal, a grey-haired old man with a long beard and deep black eyes appeared, two identical copies of him walking beside him. He had no shadow simply because his shadows were the ones standing beside him.
Knox turned and looked at him, but he sensed no presence from him.
"Shadow King, what are you doing here?" Klaus, of course, recognised him. He was the infamous Shadow King, the ultimate ruler of the Shadowless Clan and one of the oldest beings in the universe.
He had been alive since the Primordial Era and was also the father of one of his wives during her past life.
"Oh, hey, brat, can’t say I am happy seeing you, but since you seem to have landed yourself in this hot mess, I figured I should lend a hand." He grinned and added, "A Paragon owing me a favour sure is a good thing, I suppose."
Klaus smiled but said nothing.
From the shadows, Nia appeared, wearing a smile on her face. "So you are still alive, huh?"
"A shadow cannot die that easily, sweetheart," Shadow King said, smiling at Nia.
"I suppose. But let’s talk after the battle." Nia melted back into the shadows, and Shadow King also moved, meeting his opponent in a deadly clash.
Thousands of assassins followed behind him.
From the third portal, the Elven Empress, accompanied by Klaus’s uncle, Monk, appeared and started killing with their arrows and spears.
And the last portal brought the warriors from Caelmir, led by Lady Idalie and King Alric, Klaus’s father, during his 7th incarnation. Thousands also came from there, and in no time, the despair Klaus felt was gone, replaced by hope.
Orion and Knox entered the domain where Klaus was locked in a deadly battle with the Primordial and merged with him, giving him even more strength to fight.
Asura continued his slaughter, since that was the only way he could become a Supreme.
Magnus, Paragon, and Rhazor retreated to personally guard the four ladies who were closer to opening the gateway.
Axarax frowned on all six remaining faces he had. He never expected reinforcements to come this early or to come at all. However, here they were, hundreds of thousands of them.
"Impossible," he muttered, clearly in shock.
He had timed it perfectly, knowing that no matter what, Klaus would be at a loss. It could be said that he expected Klaus to fail after he pulled out one more Primordial from his bag of tricks.
Now, it seemed he had made a big mistake by actually succeeding in making Klaus feel despair.
While Klaus had yet to awaken all nine Star Lights, he had awakened four, and today they had proved to all why they were called Star Lights.
The moment they felt his life threatened, a part of them awakened enabling them to call for help.
