Chapter 208: 208: A new light, bright new torch.

The physician eventually left the room leaving only Lin Xuan, Lin Zhaoyue, Lin Zhaowen, and Lin Zhaocao to remain inside the room.

"Sit."

Lin Xuan pointed toward the chair.

Zhaocao obediently sat down.

"The compass has a side effect, so I’ll be sending my qi into your body to inspect your condition. Don’t reject it, alright?"

She nodded obediently.

Lin Xuan immediately sent his spiritual qi into her body.

The Xinyuan Luo Compass was an artifact with a side effect after all, so he needed to make certain that using it had not caused any lasting harm to her body.

Lin Zhaoyue sat obediently beside her.

Unlike before, she managed to keep her mouth completely shut, quietly watching her father examine Zhaocao.

After checking her condition for nearly a minute, Lin Xuan finally withdrew his spiritual qi.

"How has your cultivation been progressing?"

Zhaocao looked confused by the question, but she still answered cheerfully.

"Very well. I’ve been improving by leaps and bounds."

Lin Zhaoyue’s expression immediately changed when she heard her father’s response.

"Is something wrong, Father?" she asked softly.

Lin Xuan’s expression became serious.

"Half of her meridians are blocked."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"If your cultivation was progressing normally before this, then this is definitely a side effect of the Xinyuan Luo Compass."

Zhaocao’s cheerful expression disappeared.

Lin Xuan looked directly at her.

"Lin Zhaocao, do you trust me?"

"Huh?"

She stared at him in complete confusion.

Before she could ask what he meant, Lin Zhaoyue gently reached over and took her hand.

"Father intends to use his own qi to forcefully open the blocked meridians," Zhaoyue explained softly. "It will be risky, so you have to trust him and allow his qi to move freely through your meridians."

Zhaocao finally understood.

She immediately looked toward Lin Xuan and bowed her head respectfully. "Thank you, Patriarch. I’ll remember this favor for the rest of my life." She took a deep breath. "Please help me clear my meridians."

Lin Xuan nodded calmly.

"Then listen carefully. I will use my spiritual qi to forcefully open the blocked parts of your meridians. You must remain completely still and allow my qi to move wherever it needs to go."

Zhaocao listened attentively.

"It will hurt," Lin Xuan continued. "The blockage has already formed within your meridians, so I cannot simply push my qi through without causing some pain. Do not resist the pain, and do not try to circulate your own qi unless I tell you to."

Zhaocao nodded firmly.

"Understood, Patriarch."

"Good."

Lin Xuan’s expression remained calm as he continued.

"If you feel that the pain is becoming unbearable, tell me immediately. Do not force yourself to endure it in silence. As long as you follow my instructions, I can control the flow of my qi and prevent it from damaging your meridians."

Zhaocao took another deep breath before sitting upright.

"I understand. I’ll do exactly as you say."

"Then relax your body and sit comfortably."

Lin Xuan gestured for Zhaocao to sit cross-legged on the bed.

Zhaocao adjusted her position and slowly closed her eyes.

"Keep your mind calm and stop circulating your spiritual qi. Do not resist my qi when it enters your meridians. Just follow its flow."

"Understood, Patriarch."

Lin Xuan sat behind her and placed his palm against her back.

A gentle stream of spiritual qi slowly entered Zhaocao’s body.

Rather than rushing forward, Lin Xuan carefully guided his qi through her meridians.

Several sections of her meridians had become unusually narrow.

Spiritual qi could still pass through them, but the flow was sluggish, as though an invisible layer of impurities had accumulated along the walls and gradually restricted the passage.

If she panicked now, the violent turbulence of her own energy would tear her paths apart before Lin Xuan could even begin to clear them.

"Relax," Lin Xuan repeated.

Zhaocao took a slow breath and loosened her body.

Lin Xuan guided his own pure spiritual qi forward and dissolved it into a fine, mist-like pressure gradually loosening the impurities that had accumulated inside.

Bit by bit, the restricted meridian began to expand.

A dull pain spread through Zhaocao’s body.

Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, but she remembered Lin Xuan’s instructions and did not resist.

"Good. Keep your mind steady."

Lin Xuan continued guiding his spiritual qi forward.

As the obstruction loosened, the spiritual qi that had previously struggled to pass through suddenly surged forward.

Zhaocao’s body trembled slightly.

Lin Xuan immediately controlled the flow and prevented the sudden increase from damaging her meridians.

"Do not circulate your qi yet."

"Yes."

Zhaocao answered through clenched teeth.

Lin Xuan continued.

One narrow section after another was gradually cleared as he used his spiritual qi to slowly dissolve the accumulated obstruction, widening each restricted passage until her spiritual qi could flow through it normally.

After clearing the first meridian, Lin Xuan moved toward the next obstructed section.

"This will take some time. Stay calm and let me handle the rest."

The treatment continued for two whole days.

By the time it was finally over, Lin Xuan was completely exhausted.

His spiritual qi felt completely drained and his body felt as though every ounce of strength had been squeezed out of him.

Lin Xuan collapsed onto the mattress without even bothering to adjust his position, his entire body sinking into the bed as he lay there motionless.

After catching his breath for several moments, he finally managed to speak.

"It was a success."

Lin Zhaoyue immediately went to her father’s bedside.

"Father, you’ve worked hard for the last two days. Please get some proper rest."

As she spoke, she gently patted his hair before turning her gaze toward Zhaocao.

Lin Zhaocao was still sitting in the same position.

During those two days of treatment, Lin Xuan had not only cleared her obstructed meridians, but had also made her memorize the cultivation technique, the Nine Heavens Ascension Mantra.

It was his way of keeping her distracted and preventing her from becoming bored during the lengthy treatment.

Lin Zhaoyue had thought it was a reckless idea, but she had chosen not to comment and simply watched her father handle the situation.

Now that the treatment was finally over, Zhaocao immediately followed Lin Xuan’s instructions.

She sat upright and began circulating her spiritual qi, starting her cultivation without wasting a moment.
