The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 2062 - 552: The Ancient Pact Awakened by the Demon King (Part 3)
Most of them are real Lizardmen, but there are also some "Dragon Descendants" mixed in, and quite a few are players who just received their beta test qualifications.
These guys are decked out in dazzling equipment, some carrying thick wrought-iron hand cannons, some with brightly colored reagent bottles strapped to their waists, jangling as they walk.
They noisily pile out of the vehicle, with some jumping wildly upon hitting the ground as if testing the joint flexibility of this new body. Others point at empty air, their fingers sliding rapidly in the void as if operating an invisible panel.
Someone excitedly scurries onto the platform rail, pointing and shouting at the distant Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range, tail wagging in excitement.
"Holy crap! Guys, look! The lighting effects on this new map are unbelievable! The mountains in the distance look almost real!"
"Stop admiring the scenery! Where are the Ratmen? My great sword is hungry and thirsty!"
"Team up, team up! Looking for a healer, violent hand cannon Lizardman seeks group!"
"No healer, want some milk?"
"Get lost! How come there's still such a disgusting Lizardman?!"
Players entering the game via the expansion pack have randomly distributed roles, whichever lizard egg they end up in is where they'll be.
It's worth noting that in expert mode, if you die, you lose your current character and continue in normal mode as an Undead.
To avoid losing their strong bodies, the vast majority of players are quite cautious and don't use this rare beta test opportunity to cause trouble.
The chaotic scene was full of vitality, but it also plunged Spinor Castle into unprecedented panic, having never been so lively before.
Residents along the streets shut their doors and windows in fear, drawing the curtains, only daring to peek through a narrow gap, nervously spying on these puzzling creatures.
They sometimes talk to the air, sometimes jump repeatedly on the spot like possessed, or fight over "something invisible", grabbing their companions' tails like mad dogs.
To prevent any riots, the Royal Family's messenger rode his horse back and forth on the street, sweating profusely while loudly reassuring the frightened civilians.
"Don't panic! They're warriors of the Gutaf Kingdom! They're here to help us deal with the Ratmen!"
By the end, the messenger seemed a bit unsure himself, bracing himself to add.
"They... don't eat people! Probably?"
In fact, this group of creatures not only doesn't eat people, but they even behave more "polite" than most human soldiers, they're just curious about new things.
A little boy hiding at the alley mouth was discovered by a burly Lizardman.
Just as the child was about to scream, the Lizardman pulled out several chunks of black candy from his waist pouch and tossed them over with a grin.
"Hey, kid! Do you know where there are any lost kittens nearby or grandmas who need deliveries? I mean... are there any hidden quests?"
In front of the blacksmith's shop, a group of Lizardmen surrounded the bewildered blacksmith standing by the anvil, buzzing like flies.
"Dude, can your hammer add buffs?"
"Bro! Quest! Quest!"
"Is your wife captured? Don't be shy, we'll help you get her out!"
Blacksmith: "???"
Unfortunately, not a single NPC can understand what these "Gutaf warriors" are babbling about.
With a wave of disinterested players leaving, soon another wave arrived to repeat the same thing, rambling nonsense all over again...
Their behavior seemed more like NPCs than the actual NPCs.
However, this strange contrast made the originally fearful local residents of Spinor Castle breathe a sigh of relief.
They seem to just be rather chatty?
But soon, Spinor Castle's residents fell into another level of confusion.
There's a feeling that these Lizardmen aren't the sharpest tools in the shed...
Is there really no problem?
...
The chaos in front of the train station was just a small episode.
If the Spinor Castle residents knew of the Demon King's reputation in the Twilight Province, they wouldn't doubt their combat prowess anymore.
These guys are "Holy Spirits" in the Twilight Province; here, they're just in "Gutaf" disguise.
The commotion didn't last long.
Just when the Royal Family's messengers were unsure what to do, the Lizardmen gathered around the train station suddenly seemed to receive a command and dashed off in the same direction.
[Mission: Walk to the northern frontier of Spinor.]
[Reward: 10 Contribution Points]
[Note: The first 100 arrivals will receive an additional 100 Contribution Points!]
100 Contribution Points!
Seeing this number, nearly all the players held their breath, even suspecting the developers accidentally added an extra zero.
In today's Catastrophe OL official forums, the words Contribution Points have long since represented more than just Extraordinary Power, they've become synonymous with "Enchanting Demon"!
While Campbell people were inspired by Bell Sound, Catastrophe OL players were fired up by Eagle's legend!
Saving Contribution Points for two and a half years, going from skeleton frame directly to Enchanting Demon, this story is incredibly enticing—uh, inspirational!
Players from the Great Graveyard declared they absolutely aren't just indulging in the allure of being a pretty girl, but for the initial Agility and growth multipliers of the Enchanting Demon!
