The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast
Chapter 1990: Can’t See Me After All
"Hee hee!" Little Beast Bai Bai’s eyes twinkled mischievously, its gaze playful and nimble, covering its little mouth with its paw, letting out a melodious and cheeky laugh.
The War God raised an eyebrow in surprise, squinting his eyes.
Little Beast Bai Bai looked up, its big eyes sparkling brightly, eyes adorned with dazzling stars, revealing little tiger fangs, looking adorable and soft, with a milk sweet voice: "Then sing me a song."
"What?"
Steady as the War God always was, he now showed a look of surprise, disbelief filling his eyes.
Little Beast Bai Bai blinked, all innocence in its big eyes, pure and playful: "Didn’t you say any request was fine? Is it... not okay now?" It tilted its head, its gaze dimming.
How could the War God bear to see Little Beast Bai Bai looking dejected, his tone became anxious: "Yes, anything is fine!"
Little Beast Bai Bai’s eyes brightened again, its mouth stretched into a grin, with a tiny sharp little tiger tooth, petite and cute.
Meeting Little Beast Bai Bai’s expectant gaze, the War God lowered his eyes slightly, his gaze flickering, "What do you want to hear?"
"I can choose a song?" Little Beast Bai Bai was extremely delighted, rubbing its little paws, the soft touch of the pads was something it also loved. Instinctively, it rubbed its nose with the little pads, closing its eyes in comfort.
"Anything you want to hear, I might not know it, but I’ll learn."
Little Taotie rubbed its little paws: "Can you sing ’Little Star’? Twinkle, twinkle, little star..."
The soft, sweet voice humming the song, the War God enjoyed it, closing his eyes in satisfaction.
Little Beast Bai Bai felt something wasn’t quite right but couldn’t remember, until the entire song was hummed, and she heard rhythmic breathing.
"War God?" Little Beast Bai Bai patted him with her little paw.
No response.
"No way!"
"Did I actually lull him to sleep?"
Little Beast Bai Bai covered her face with her little paws, never expecting that she came to listen to a song, but ended up singing it herself, while the person supposed to sing for her fell asleep.
She pushed twice with no result, so she retracted her little paws, looking mournful: "The song wasn’t sung, how could you fall asleep!"
Although she complained, Little Beast Bai Bai didn’t disturb the War God’s sleep.
She searched around in her fur, successfully pulling out a blanket.
"The storage space is really handy, if only I could take it out of the dream."
She mumbled, covering the War God with the blanket, and leaning on him, fell asleep herself.
Once Little Beast Bai Bai was asleep, Little Taotie finally drifted out of the body, floating here and there like a "Little Ghost".
At first, becoming a "Little Ghost" was a surprise, because flying around was enjoyable, but after a while, it became boring, even giving a sense of rootlessness like a floating duckweed.
Little Taotie floated to the War God’s side, circling around him, "Ah, forgot to take off your helmet!"
Little Taotie was extremely frustrated, it had several chances to see the War God’s true face, yet each time, inexplicably missed it.
The War God, sensing something, opened his eyes, like a majestic lion awakening, his sharp, dignified gaze sweeping to where Little Taotie floated.
At that moment, Little Taotie felt like it was pinned down, brushed by that gaze, feeling chilly all over.
As powerful as the War God was, he could only sense something was off where he looked but couldn’t pinpoint what, nor could he see the Little Taotie floating like a Little Ghost.
Seeing him look away, Little Taotie breathed a little sigh of relief, excitedly floating in front of the War God, making a face at him: "Can’t see me, right? The War God isn’t that great after all, since you can’t see me!"
