Draven’s POV

I booked a hotel and gave Jade the location. She was already on her way.

Damn.

When I opened the door and saw her standing there, she exceeded every expectation I had built up in my head. Jade was dressed like someone who hadn’t come to talk ... like someone who had already made up her mind about what this visit was going to be. She looked incredibly sexy. I couldn’t even form a full sentence.

"How are you, Draven?" she asked.

"You’re ... you’re..."

"I know, right," she said, finishing what I couldn’t.

She stepped inside, locked the door behind her and slipped off her shoes in one smooth motion. No small talk. No warm-up. She hadn’t come for play.

"Jade, what..." She pressed her hand gently against my lips and cut me off.

This felt so good. Better than the first breath of freedom after a prison escape.

She kissed me and pushed me back onto the bed, climbing on top of me before I could say another word. I had told my people I’d be back in thirty minutes. It was already looking like that number was going to be a lie.

She kissed me deep and slow, and I felt everything I’d been holding together start to loosen. I missed her more than I missed the sex ... but the sex was also long overdue. A lot had changed about me. Seasons had changed. I went from an average worker to a mafia club member, then to a thief, then to a kidnapper. But my love for Jade hadn’t shifted one bit through any of it.

She knew exactly how to turn me on every time. She kissed every last sense out of me until I didn’t know what I was doing anymore. I just wanted to be inside her, and eventually, I was.

I reached down and freed myself as she stripped naked in front of me. She took my dick and squeezed it between her breasts ... those big, full breasts ... and slid it up and down slowly, maintaining eye contact the entire time. That eye contact was diabolical. She knew what she was doing.

I felt the precum build. She spread it across her thighs, rubbed it against her skin like it was hers to do with as she pleased ... and kept going.

Then she wrapped her mouth around it and started sucking, and I was gone.

This wasn’t just relief sex. Nothing in the world compared to this. I was moaning like I had no pride left and I didn’t even care. She was so damn good. She spat on my dick, moistened it up and went right back to work. The room felt like it was spinning because I was so deep in ecstasy I had lost all bearing. I reached down and guided her gently, one hand pressing against the back of her head, helping her find the rhythm. She licked with everything she had ... like she was pouring energy back into me, charging me up for what came next ... and then she pulled back and looked at me.

It was my turn.

What followed looked like some filthy, professional-grade shit, because she moved like someone who had mastered every angle. But she was no whore. She was the love of my life. Jade ... the one I wanted beside me for the rest of whatever life I had left.

I flipped her into doggy position in one swift move.

"Take it easy with the pussy, baby. It’s pricey," she whispered.

I kissed her mouth first ... a proper warm-up ... then I pushed inside her slow and firm, like I was driving in a screw and had every intention of making it tight.

"Ahh..." The sound that came out of her told me everything I needed to know.

I pulled out and caught sight of a small bottle of oil sitting on the bedside table. Who the hell left that there like they knew exactly what we’d need it for? Didn’t matter. I was grateful. I worked some of it onto my dick, rubbed it in, then spread some gently up her ass before sliding in slow.

"Damn, Draven ... you hit the right spot," she breathed out.

I gave her some light fingering first, then slid back in and gave her everything I had.

She moaned ... loud ... and when the sound started climbing too high, I pressed my hand gently over her mouth and let her muffle it against my palm. I sucked her breasts and kept fucking her, and neither of us showed any signs of slowing down even as the sweat built between us.

We kept going. At some point, a thought crossed my mind ... I started wondering who had been taking care of that pussy while I was locked up and nowhere near it.

We went at it for another ten minutes before finally collapsing into each other, kissing until we had nothing left, until we were both breathing like we’d run a damn marathon and couldn’t find it in ourselves to care.

"Now we can talk," Jade said, smiling as she reached for her clothes and began pulling them back on.

"That was good initiative, Jade," I said.

"I figured you’d need it after time in prison." She pulled her top over her head. "How did you escape?"

"Trust me ... you don’t want to know. Your boy is dark now."

"Nothing I haven’t seen before," she said flatly. "Tell me."

I told her everything. She had taught me a huge chunk of what I knew, after all. She had earned the right to hear it.

When I finished, she held up her hand and gave me a high five.

Damn. There was no better feeling than impressing a wolf as tough as Jade.

"That’s an upgrade, Draven," she said. "But I hope you’re ready ... because once you start down this road, there’s no getting off it."

"I know," I said. "You live by the streets, you die by the streets."

"You might have to be on the run for a lot longer than you expected," she added, her voice dropping.

"Why do you say that?"

She picked up the remote and turned on the TV without a word. She didn’t need to say anything else.

There it was. My face. And the faces of the five others who had escaped with me ... all of us plastered across the screen under the word WANTED. A bounty had been placed on each of our heads. Forty thousand for whoever brought us in.

I stared at the photo they were using for me and frowned. "Why does my face look so corny in that photo?"

Jade turned and looked at me like I had lost my mind. "You need to be serious right now, Draven. Where are Lucas and the others?"

"Sorry ... they’re waiting at a park. I told them thirty minutes but now it’s..."

"An hour and ten minutes," she said. "You need to go."

"What about Rex?" I asked. "You should be careful too."

"I can handle Rex." There was a hardness in her voice when she said it. "I’m not his puppet anymore."

There was clearly a story behind those words ... one I didn’t have the luxury of time to pull out of her right now. But I would hear it. Later.

"You could have gone back to Morvaine," she said. "Word is that place is finally safe again after the remnant Alpha invasion, but..."

"Don’t even suggest that," I cut in. "I was banished from there. Roran might not recognise my face anymore, but I wasn’t willing to take that risk."

And now there was a bounty on my head to add to everything else.

I pulled myself together and called Lucas. "We have to move. Now."

Airports were out of the question ... our faces would be flagged the second we walked through any terminal. So we went by road, into the open stretch of whatever came next.
