Chapter 128: Obsession Illusion

"Formation? What formation?" Moon asked confusedly.

"I—I put a formation on the cave mouths! I tried to make an illusion array..."

Moon raised his brows.

"You even know how to do that already?"

Nox felt a little shy and scratched the back of his head.

"A little bit..."

"So there’s an illusion running outside right now?" Moon actually looked interested. He glanced over his shoulder.

Inside the cabin, two familiar figures were already watching them.

"Axe!"

"Master Lupine!"

Nox and Ugo called out at the same time.

Moon stepped aside so they could go in.

But Rio was starting to get agitated again. His fur bristled harder the moment he sensed another strong fire presence nearby.

Moon didn’t want a fight breaking out between the two newly evolved wolves, so with a quick thought, he sent Rio into the Lupine Palace first.

Once everyone was inside the bridal chamber and sitting down, Nox still couldn’t calm his nerves.

"Moon, how did you even get out? The paths were sealed just now. Did I mess something up?"

"I was the one who sealed them," Moon said quietly. "When those people started pouring in, I had no choice."

Ugo’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"You took over this cave?"

"Yes. With Xiao Hong’s help..." Moon glanced at the fiery beauty, still finding it hard to believe she used to be that little bug.

"Xiao Hong’s help? What about me?" Lupine immediately retorted from the side, looking extremely displeased. "I was the one who merged the realm."

"Hmph. Merged the realm? Old hound, do you even have that ability? This place was already connected from the beginning," Xiao Hong sneered, flipping her long red hair.

"You old woman! Stop pretending to be a little girl. Have some shame! If it wasn’t for me, he would still be stuck rotting in your chamber!"

"Who said..."

"Ahem." Moon coughed twice, cutting them both off. "We have more important things right now. The other side is almost there."

He turned back to Ugo and Nox, his voice lower as he spoke.

"While you two were still outside, I connected the Flaming Garden to the Lupine Palace. I was about to go out and get you, but those people suddenly started flooding in. I had no choice but to pull back first. After that, we filled the paths so they wouldn’t go out too easily."

Moon’s gaze dropped for a second. He clearly still felt a bit guilty for scaring them.

"I didn’t know you put a formation there," he added.

Nox blinked.

"Then how did you get out?"

"I didn’t need to go out the normal way. The last place we left the Lupine Palace was near the crack, so I can exit from there through the palace. Basically... I can now move between the inside and outside of the cave mouths."

Xiao Hong floated closer and winked at Nox.

"Aiya... Your little immortal is so ruthless. He even made me—this little beauty—scatter a bunch of rare herbs and some junk ancient weapons into the fake cave we left there. Those packs will dig for days and only find ancient trash. Serves them right for disturbing my pleasure."

Lupine snorted.

"I still think we should have thrown in a few rotten scavenger corpses too. Make the smell match the treasure level."

Moon rubbed his temple, but a small, satisfied look still flashed across his face.

He could afford to lose a few things if it meant less trouble later.

At least the ordinary warriors would think they were chasing ordinary treasures. The Shadow Lords would probably still be suspicious, though.

"I couldn’t risk them finding out about the Lost Realm," Moon said quietly. "And I couldn’t come out while Levi and that elder were still watching. If they saw me take over the caves openly..."

Nox rubbed his face roughly and let out a shaky laugh that was half relief, half leftover panic.

Then he suddenly remembered something most important.

He dug into his storage and pulled out the golden-brown World Tree jade seal.

"Here. This is from the earth cave."

Ugo also took out a snow-white jade and placed it in Moon’s hand without a word.

Moon looked at the two items for a long moment.

Then he bit his finger and dripped a drop of blood on each of them without further ado.

He wanted them, and there was no need to pretend he didn’t. He would eventually return this favor to them.

A soft light spread out, and a new, deeper connection formed.

Just as the light faded, a sudden roar of pure rage exploded from the side.

All of them looked in that direction at once.

When they were busy talking, Lupine had placed a large crystal mirror in one corner and was watching the fun.

They didn’t know earlier that Nox had placed an illusion formation there, so they hadn’t paid any attention.

Now that Lupine heard about it, he wanted to see how it was working.

And it was indeed fun.

The five Shadow Lords had finally broken through the illusion array.

They were standing in the middle of the cave path.

Five paths, five Shadow Lords, and behind them the generals and their followers still digging into the air.

Some were even lying in the mud like it was some pleasure house, as if they were watching some lewd dance.

Chaos erupted one by one from all sides.

"Ummmm, ah ah, hah, ah... miss, harder! Harder!"

"Woooo, see that hip!"

"I got a Moon’s Tear, look!"

"Yes, Lord, push deeper... ah, ah, ah..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

Moon looked at Nox’s flushed ears and teased, "Baby, what kind of illusion is it?"

"I—I wanted to copy Master and make one of deep obsession," Nox mumbled softly.

"Good job. Later, put one inside Mooney’s bed," Axe grinned as he whispered in Nox’s ear.

"I can hear you, you know?" Moon said, glaring at Axe.

In the crystal mirror,

the Vaelis Shadow Lord’s face had gone almost purple.

"Fake?!"

"All of it is fucking fake?!"

"We’ve been digging empty air this whole time?!"

"Fuck, where did my fairy go?"
