Chapter 129: Five Miserable Lords

"We’ve been digging empty air this whole time?!"

"Fuck, where did my fairy go?"

As the chaos broke out inside the cave, Moon suddenly tensed up.

He remembered they still hadn’t put any restrictions on the last two contracted places.

The Snow Valley and the Xirang Hall.

He looked at Lupine and Xiao Hong for help.

Both sighed and stood up.

"Tsk, my show is gone! I am going to put restrictions on the Xirang Hall, you go to the Snow Valley."

"Why me? I hate that snow dragon," Xiao Hong protested.

"Go, go, don’t waste time," Lupine pushed her back.

"Why do we need to go? That RuYi was such a lazy bum. Now we have to do the work for that ghost and that lazy dragon too. Let them work."

Lupine found the idea good. He looked at Moon and Nox eagerly.

"Can we get them to work?" Nox asked confusedly.

"Just let them know their asses are on fire," Xiao Hong said.

Nox nodded and really tried to send a message. "Um... Master, your ass is on fire. Protect the hall."

"..."

There was no response.

"Fool! The place is contracted with Moon, not you." Lupine slapped Nox’s head hard.

"Who are you slapping, old hound?" Suddenly, a phantom ghost appeared right above Lupine’s figure.

Lupine jumped up from his place. "Oh ho! Look, the ghost is out!"

"Sigh! You were disturbing my sleep too much. Just keep silent for once." Saying that, the ghost again burrowed into the ground.

Moon was speechless.

He looked at Nox sympathetically. It looked like this master would be hard to talk to.

Meanwhile, Lupine divided the screen into five parts to see all the caves at once.

Moon tried to send a message to the Snow Valley, but he was not sure if the spirit there was listening or not. He was getting anxious.

"Don’t worry. If he doesn’t come out, we will just give his place to others."

"In your dream!" A frosty, cold voice vibrated around the cabin.

But no one saw any figure.

Regardless, everyone knew the snow master heard them and would lend a hand.

They soon put all their attention back inside the mirror.

The first to reach the end was the group that entered the flame path.

The damp tunnel slowly turned warm.

The rock walls shifted from black to deep red, and the air grew thick with the faint scent of burning orchids.

When the Ironfang people stepped into the final chamber, their eyes widened.

A wide cavern stretched out under a high ceiling of glowing red crystal. Clusters of Fire Orchids and Ember Heart Grass still grew along the cracks, their petals bright even under the dim light.

A few stalks had already been cut clean, their roots still fresh in the soil, as if someone had harvested them in a hurry not long ago.

In the center of the chamber stood several ancient weapon racks.

Most of the weapons were gone, but a few remained—old flame-forged spears, a cracked crimson shield, and two short blades that still held a faint heat.

The empty slots on the racks made it obvious that the best pieces had already been taken.

Ironfang’s Shadow Lord walked forward slowly, his eyes locked on the remaining herbs.

"Those bastards have already taken the best ones. Just let me find them."

One of his generals nodded, his voice deep with greed.

"What cowards! They ran the moment they sensed us coming, leaving the leftovers for us. How dare they!" He scolded, yet his eyes were glued to the weapon rack.

The half-poisoned warriors immediately started pulling the remaining Fire Orchids and Ember Heart Grass.

Some of them laughed under their breath.

"Those rats must have been pissing themselves when they heard us approaching."

"Good. Saves us the trouble of cleaning them up."

"Where did they flee, though? I didn’t see another entrance."

Just then, one pointed to a little path that almost looked like a dog hole.

He cackled, "Don’t tell me they fled through that hole..."

A burst of laughter echoed in the cave at that.

Even though their own lives were hanging by a thread, they took pleasure in the misery of others.

From the cabin, Lupine tsked in disappointment. "We should not have left so much."

"Aiya..... those are the lowest grade and the weeds. I don’t keep any lowest grade," Xiao Hong said proudly.

"Let it be. Any less and they will not believe it’s real, and will chase a real treasure trove," Moon shrugged.

In the cave, they stuffed everything into storage bags, even the half-broken weapons, and looked quite satisfied.

Moon noticed that all the treasure was given to a few high-grade generals. And they were actually holding a spatial storage device. But judging by how they didn’t take many things inside the storage, maybe they had a very limited space.

At most ten times the size of an original satchel.

Moon took note of this.

He needed to know what magical items this realm held soon to avoid miscalculating.

The second group entered the path that once led to the Starlily Sanctuary.

The air gradually cooled.

Soft silver moss began to appear on the walls.

When they finally stepped into the last chamber, the Lyris people froze for a moment.

A wide-open space stretched before them. Faint star-like lights still glowed on the ceiling. Several clusters of Starlight Grass and Moondew Flowers remained along the edges, some already cut at the stem.

The Lyris Shadow Lord crouched beside one of the cut plants and touched the fresh root with her fingers.

"Damn it. It’s taken!"

"Someone was here before us? Those packs cheated?"

"Probably not. Maybe it’s one of those little fugitives of Vaelis."

"Do you think Vaelis is actually playing us? In the end, they are getting a big chunk—from us and from the fugitive too," one said unhappily.

"We will see later." The lord didn’t say much.

She focused on the remaining plants.

Though they were not extinct, they were also very precious in Monalis Celestia.

Here they had found quite a few. It’s better than nothing.

And judging by the plucking, those who were here before probably fled when they came inside.

The stem was still fresh.
