His machete glinted in his hand as he made a slicing motion.

"Pay up, then leave.

Silas’s eyes almost popped out at his audacity.

"Axe! How dare you raise a blade against your older brother!"

"Hurry up. I have no patience, unlike my wife."

He raised his machete to Silas’s neck level, though he didn’t press it any closer. After all, Silas was now the crown prince of the Vaelis Pack.

Silas was so enraged that he shrugged off Ellen’s hand and rolled up his sleeves.

He wanted to yank Axe by the collar, but Axe quickly pivoted to the other side.

"Oho! Tsk, tsk! Brother, there’s no need for your dear hug!"

Having missed his target, Silas stumbled forward from his own momentum. His ears burned with shame, and his face darkened.

He forgot about his image and simply drew his long blade, slashing at Axe.

This time, he was faster and more decisive.

Axe couldn’t pivot away, but he didn’t want to, either.

He had been waiting for this exact moment.

As the blade slashed toward him, his grey eyes flashed. He lifted his machete and thrust it forward to block the blade.

A sharp screech rang out from the clash. People had to cover their ears from the impact.

Silas’s eyes trembled.

This was a blade gifted to him by Alpha Vaelis.

It was a blade their Grand Maestra herself had crafted with great care. How could Axe simply block it?

No wonder his father was determined to get this black witch.

In Silas’s mind, every miracle was the result of that witch’s influence.

These defectives had no other way to explain it.

But the truth was that, apart from awakening the wolf spirit, Moon had no idea what these brothers were doing.

The moment Axe brought out the machete, even Moon was startled.

He could clearly feel the spiritual energy and bloodthirsty aura emanating from the machete.

’Bloodstone.’

He was sure Axe had used a large red stone in the shaft, but there had to be another element or some other power mixed into it.

Silas suddenly straightened up.

"Don’t make a fool of yourself. I will let you go this time. The registration is in a few hours, and the council will not appreciate it if Vaelis starts killing people here."

He sheathed the blade in the leather scabbard hanging from his belt and threw a pouch onto the table.

"Consider it our donation to some beggars."

He gritted his teeth and shoved Liam forward.

He was extremely angry.

Ellen and Lyra exchanged glances before following them.

Lyra took one last look at Nox.

Her eyes held a little anticipation and regret as she glanced at the girl still wearing the silver bracelet.

In her hand, it looked like a precious star wrapped around her wrist that was supposed to be hers.

As the group dispersed, Moon picked up the pouch and checked its contents.

It was the correct amount.

He smiled and handed it back to Nox.

But Nox pushed it toward Moon.

"You can keep it. It’s for you," he said shyly.

Moon raised his brows but didn’t take the pouch.

"Keep it. You may want to buy something in the market later. I’ll ask you if I need anything."

Nox felt a little depressed.

’Is Moon rejecting me?’ he thought.

The girl looked back and forth between them and noticed that more people were gathering, clearly interested in checking out their goods.

She grew impatient.

"Ahhh! Brothers, flirt later, please! Sell to me first. Give all the bracelets to me."

She tapped the table impatiently.

Moon found it amusing.

"Miss, you don’t even know how many we have. Maybe it’s hundreds or thousands. Can you buy them all?"

Nox looked at Moon strangely.

When did people sell thousands of arrays? Even if they made more, it could be at best a hundred, and that’s the amount only the pavilion and merchant hold.

Was he teasing a girl?

Suddenly, the girl didn’t seem so beautiful anymore.

"Then a thousand it is. Sell them to me!"

She leaned forward even more, as if someone else might get there first.

"Hey, don’t lean so much to him!" Nox waved his hand between Moon and the girl.

"I only have three of them, and I’ll only sell one to you," Nox grumbled.

But Moon noticed the girl’s panic and felt that something was odd.

He stopped Nox and asked in a low voice, "One is enough. Why do you want more?"

"This..." The girl hesitated.

"Which pack are you from?" Moon asked.

"West Blackwood Pack," she answered, lowering her head.

Moon suddenly remembered something.

In the Alpine Mountains, he had heard that West Blackwood had chosen a crown prince who didn’t even have a Gibbous Spirit-level wolf spirit.

Moon had learned from the academy information that there were actually seven grades of wolf spirits.

Apogee Spirit was considered defective or the lowest Omega level.

This was basically what his husbands were now.

However, in Monalis, they didn’t even want to call it Apogee Spirit, just ’defective’.

The actual ranking started with Crescent Spirit, which was basically the Omega level.

These people couldn’t use their wolf spirits to fight.

Gibbous Spirit was the level at which one could begin to fight and serve as a guard at most.

The true wolf spirits, as they were recognized in Monalis, began at Perigee Spirit, which was considered the higher-middle level.

These made up the vast majority of wolves who became warriors and sentinels.

Monalis was mainly run by them.

Then came Zenith Moon Spirit, the high level.

In Monalis, most generals, captains, lieutenants, beta and Gamma sentinels had Zenith Moon wolf spirits. They were mostly responsible for leading the troops and pack.

The highest known level was Eclipse Spirit.

Every chosen Alpha of a pack possessed an Eclipse Spirit. Others were either hidden spies or shadow phantoms, pillars of their packs who seldom went out.

But Moon knew there was a legend, one that no one had ever encountered in real life.

That was Syzygy Spirit.
