The Moon Goddess Chose Me as the Luna of Four Alphas
Chapter 80: Sever your blood ties with Pack Draven
The white light surrounding Liliana was completely absorbed into Leonhardt’s body. The gaping hole left by the Nightfang’s attack quickly faded as his skin regenerated until the wound had completely disappeared.
Leonhardt slowly opened his eyes. His gaze immediately fell on Liliana, who was still kissing his lips.
His golden eyes flickered for a moment. He held Liliana’s head to keep her from pulling away, then carefully returned her kiss. There was no desire in it, only something that even Leonhardt himself did not yet understand.
Not yet.
Liliana opened her eyes. The corners of her eyes curved slightly.
"You’re awake?" Liliana asked softly.
"Thanks to my Luna," Leonhardt replied.
Liliana smiled faintly. She accepted Leonhardt’s outstretched hand and hurried to her feet. However, before she could stand upright, her legs gave way.
Leonhardt quickly caught her.
"Don’t use your power again in the future. Not unless I give you permission," he whispered beside Liliana’s ear.
Leonhardt immediately scooped Liliana into his arms and walked out of the wind vortex that had concealed them and kept everyone from seeing what they had been doing.
Everyone immediately bowed respectfully, including all of Liliana’s mates and Cassian.
Leonhardt looked at them for a moment. His noble aura emerged, quickly pressing down on everyone present.
"What you just witnessed is not important. Keep your mouths shut," Leonhardt said in a low voice.
Everyone nodded quickly.
"We understand."
Leonhardt let out a rough breath before nodding in satisfaction.
"We’re returning to the academy," he announced.
Leonhardt transformed into his wolf form and quickly carried Liliana onto his back.
"Hold on to my fur tightly," Leonhardt reminded her.
Liliana obediently nodded and immediately gripped Leonhardt’s fur tightly.
Leonhardt let out a loud howl, followed by everyone behind him.
Seventy wolves raced through the darkness of the forest, heading toward Mirena Academy at full speed.
Leonhardt ran at the front, while the Alphas guarded the rear of the group.
The cold air pierced Liliana’s pale skin. However, none of the worries she had felt earlier remained. All that was left was the peace brought by the silence surrounding her.
She lowered her head, looking at Leonhardt’s golden fur, which shimmered beneath the moonlight.
Her lips curled slightly.
Forty minutes later, Leonhardt and the others arrived at the gates of Mirena Academy.
The academy gates were in disarray, with the corpses of numerous Nightfangs scattered everywhere. Several students who were in critical condition had been carried into the academy to receive treatment. Meanwhile, some students who still appeared to be in good condition were helping the dean and teachers gather the dead Nightfangs into a huge pile.
Dark smoke billowed high into the sky, looming over the magnificent place. The smell of burning flesh pierced the noses of every werewolf there.
Liliana quickly climbed down from Leonhardt’s back and straightened her slightly disheveled clothes.
Leonhardt stood beside Liliana and gave the dean a slight nod.
The dean returned the nod. His gaze then shifted to Liliana, who was standing beside Leonhardt.
He nodded.
"I meet the future Crown Princess of the Morovela Empire," he said.
Liliana shook her head. She took an unconscious step backward.
Leonhardt, who was standing beside her, nodded and held her back to prevent her from retreating any farther.
"What about everyone else?" Leonhardt asked, redirecting the dean’s attention.
The academy dean cleared his throat.
"Alpha Pack Ardent and Valmont are pursuing the remaining Nightfangs. Around nine Nightfangs managed to escape this time."
"Were those Nightfangs different from the ones we usually encounter?" Leonhardt asked.
The dean stared at Leonhardt for a moment before nodding.
"Your Highness... did you also—"
"We encountered them too."
The dean swallowed hard, then looked toward the darkness of the forest before them.
"Contact both of them. Tell them to return immediately. There should be far more of them than we initially expected," Leonhardt ordered.
The dean immediately nodded. He turned and headed toward his office to contact them.
Leonhardt turned to look at Liliana.
"Return to your room. There’s something I need to take care of first. We’ll discuss everything else tonight."
Before Liliana had a chance to respond, Leonhardt had already used his power and disappeared from everyone’s sight.
Vincent, who was standing behind him, immediately stepped forward, took off his cloak, and covered Liliana’s silver hair and face.
"Your hair is too conspicuous," he said.
Liliana flinched. She held the cloak in place to keep it from falling before nodding and wrapping it more tightly around herself.
Lucien, who was standing beside her, patted her shoulder.
"I’ll catch up with the Crown Prince."
Liliana nodded in response.
Xavier, who was standing beside her, gave a slight nod before returning to the dormitory with the remaining members of his pack.
"Go back," Vincent said, gently patting Liliana’s head. "There are too many eyes watching you right now. I’ll take care of my pack first."
Liliana immediately turned and looked around. There were indeed many academy students watching her with curious expressions.
She nodded when her eyes met Vincent’s.
After everyone had left, Liliana turned and walked toward Cassian.
The man kept staring at her without any intention of saying anything.
"Brother..." Liliana called.
Her brown eyes carefully studied Cassian’s stiff expression.
Cassian shook his head, then glared sharply at the people around them.
Seeing Cassian’s black eyes fixed sharply on them, no one dared to look at Liliana anymore. Even several students standing not far from her immediately stepped back.
Cassian pulled Liliana along and took her to her dorm room.
Click.
The sound of the door echoed as Cassian closed Liliana’s room.
Liliana removed Vincent’s cloak from her head and put it away before turning to look at Cassian again with a fearful expression.
Cassian let out a rough breath. He pulled out the chair beside him and sat down.
"Sit," Cassian ordered.
Liliana nodded and immediately sat on the bed.
"Sever your blood ties with Pack Draven," Cassian said.
Liliana looked up at Cassian in disbelief.
"Brother!"
"You no longer need our pack’s protection. By staying by their side, you’ll live safely. With Pack Draven behind you, you’ll only be dragged down."
Liliana stared at Cassian, then shook her head. Tears spilled from her eyes before she could stop them.
"Brother... I don’t want to."
