The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 489: False Heaven (Part 2)
Like hell Daeli believed him.
‘They’d been married for ages. Didn’t he have any self-awareness about how believable he sounded?’
However, considering this matter concerned the war with the Church Court, and more importantly, Sean’s own safety, she ultimately decided to tell him a few things she knew.
“Have you been to the Void Technique Space?” Daeli asked.
“I went a long time ago,” Sean said.
Then he added, “That’s where I met Eli.”
The time Elvire had saved him didn’t count. Back then, his sister-in-law wouldn’t even tell him her name. It wasn’t until their second meeting in the Void Technique Space that they truly got to know each other.
But Daeli shook her head. “I’m not talking about the Void Technique Space in your Farm World. I’m talking about the one here. The Church Court has renamed it False Heaven.”
If there are two worlds, then of course there are two Void Technique Spaces.
Sean pondered.
‘Had he heard Elise mention this before?’
‘Or had he read it in the *Essex Chronicles*?’
‘He couldn’t remember clearly.’
But he did have a vague memory of it.
The original Void Technique Space had both a virtual and a physical aspect—one in the Spiritual World and the other being Kovri. The current False Heaven was the same. The False Heaven where he first met Elise was the “physical” one, while another existed in the Spiritual World.
“It’s full of Church Court members now.”
Daeli said, “It’s a gathering place for their top Scholars.”
As she spoke, a mocking look crossed her face.
The Church Court called her man a Heretic, called the Holy Sanctuary a Cult, and destroyed Kovri and the Hall of Truth in the name of justice.
‘And what happened after?’
‘They turned around and started studying everything her man left behind.’
‘Those Scholars stay in False Heaven day and night, without eating or drinking, wracking their brains to reach the upper levels of the Holy Sanctuary, searching for the secret to her man’s power.’
‘A pity they can’t find it.’
‘Besides, they’ve got one thing wrong.’
‘The highest level of the Holy Sanctuary does hold the secrets to the Path of Divinity, but it’s *Sean’s* own Path of Divinity.’
‘Not to mention they can’t even get up there.’
‘The Holy Sanctuary has seven levels. Those Scholars have tried everything they can think of, but they’ve only managed to reach the third. They have a long way to go.’
Sean’s mind raced. “You mean I left myself a backup plan?”
Daeli shot back, “What do you think?”
“You’re Carl Black. When have you ever done anything without having a backup plan?”
“Don’t think I didn’t know. Even back when you told me you liked me, you’d already won over my parents. That way, if I rejected you, you could just run to them for help… There are plenty of other stories like that. Do you want me to list them for you?”
‘That happened?’
Sean blushed, coughed a few times, and said, “Well, that’s just because I cared about you so much.”
“And that’s why I wasn’t angry with you,” Daeli huffed, not bothering to rehash the past with him. “Anyway, you’ll understand once you get there.”
“The question is… how do I get there?” Sean asked.
He had tried meditating in the New World, but he’d never been able to find the entrance to False Heaven.
Neither had Sopea or Kate. He knew that without even asking; they would have told him if they’d found it.
Daeli explained, “That’s because your souls don’t belong here.”
In other words, only Wizards native to the New World could enter the New World’s Void Technique Space.
This was a rule his past self had set to prevent the two worlds from interfering with each other.
Sean rubbed his temples, a headache forming. “Didn’t I just shoot myself in the foot?”
To get to False Heaven, one would first have to get to the New World. Given the current situation, that was a bit too difficult.
Daeli pursed her lips. “You’re not the type to do something like that.”
Sean: “Huh?”
“What do you mean?”
“Is there another way to get there?”
“There is,” Daeli answered plainly, then added, “But I’m not going to tell you.”
Sean: “?”
“Feeling cheeky, are we? Who did you learn that from?”
“From you.”
Daeli seemed to be in an excellent mood. “Isn’t Mr. Carl Black supposed to be brilliant? You can’t even figure out something this simple?”
Sean: “Just tell me!”
“Nope,” Daeli said. “Figure it out yourself.”
With that, she stood on her toes, gave Sean another kiss, and stepped into the Magic Array, vanishing from the room.
Sean was so angry he became hard.
His fists, that is.
‘That woman was deliberately leaving him in suspense!’
‘And there was nothing he could do about it.’
‘If Daeli wanted to leave, he was in no state to stop her.’
So all he could do was make a mental note.
‘You wicked woman, just you wait. Once I get my strength back, I’ll show you… hmph!’
