Chapter 520: Chapter 484: Wreaking Havoc at the Banquet 2
‘What is this nonsense!’
Su Kangcheng said, “Mrs. Rong, you’ve arrived. This way, please.”
He actually didn’t want to engage with Song Qing. He had a guilty conscience, after all. After An Zhiya’s death, he’d instructed his family to keep their distance from Song Qing.
He also prevented Su Nian, An Zhiya’s supposed daughter, from having much contact with her.
Song Qing smiled. “I’m in no hurry.”
“Su Kangcheng, I came here today to remind you of something. I’m not sure if you still recall after all these years, but I’ve certainly never forgotten on behalf of Zhiya and Uncle An. You promised that once Zhiya’s daughter turned eighteen, you would return everything that belonged to the An family to her. You haven’t forgotten that, have you? And I wonder, after so much time has passed, how many people still remember that the Su family of today was once the An family?”
The moment she finished speaking, the smiles on Su Kangcheng’s and Sun Shuzhen’s faces nearly faltered.
They had gone to great lengths to never mention the An family, all to diminish its memory and ensure everyone only remembered the Su family.
Su Kangcheng quickly regained his composure. Whatever he was thinking, he was a master at keeping up appearances.
“Of course I remember.”
“I’ve always treated Su Nian as my own daughter. Once she turns eighteen, the shares of An Pharmaceutical will naturally be transferred to her.”
He didn’t mention anything else—only An Pharmaceutical.
In truth, Su Kangcheng had always been guarding against this day. He had used the An family’s money to establish other businesses that were entirely his own.
With the resources of An Pharmaceutical as a foundation, his own ventures were naturally very successful.
Song Qing gave a wry smile. “I’m just not sure if we should be calling it the An Family’s business or the Su Family’s these days.”
The surrounding guests could sense the drama brewing. They all pretended to be minding their own business, but in reality, they had their ears pricked, listening intently to the conversation.
Quite a few people, it turned out, had no idea that the Su family’s fortune was originally built on the An family’s name.
They only understood after those in the know filled them in.
“So, Su Nian isn’t this Mrs. Su’s child? In that case, she’s an incredibly good stepmother.”
“Exactly. You can’t even tell the difference from how she’d treat her own biological daughter.”
Song Qing continued, “You know, I’ve noticed something funny. I look at Su Nian, and I don’t see the slightest resemblance to Zhiya. She does, however, look remarkably similar to you… and to the wife you married after her.”
Su Kangcheng immediately broke out in a cold sweat.
Others might not have known why he married An Zhiya in the first place, but Song Qing did.
“I’m afraid you must be mistaken, Mrs. Rong.”
Sun Shuzhen was frightened too, but she was no stranger to schemes and managed to remain relatively calm.
“I raised Su Nian, so we’re very close. It’s only natural that you might think she resembles me after seeing us together so often.”
“Is that so?”
Song Qing said nonchalantly.
“I just wonder, Mr. Su, how well do you even remember what my dear friend An Zhiya looked like?”
“Back in the day, my friend An Zhiya was the unattainable dream girl for countless men. Her beauty was legendary, a true Hua Rongyue, enough to topple cities. So when I look at Su Nian, especially as she’s gotten older, I find that she doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to her. Su Nian might be considered a pretty girl, but compared to my Zhiya, she doesn’t even possess a tenth of her beauty.”
The faces of Su Kangcheng and Sun Shuzhen darkened. Su Nian’s expression turned ugly as well.
Anyone would be upset to hear themselves described that way.
Sun Shuzhen exclaimed, “Mrs. Rong!”
“If you are here to attend my husband’s banquet, the Su family will welcome you. But if you’re here to cause trouble, know that we are not to be trifled with!”
Song Qing sneered. “What’s the matter? I haven’t even finished speaking. Why are you in such a hurry?”
Su Kangcheng’s expression was grim. “Mrs. Rong, if you haven’t come in good faith to celebrate my birthday, then please leave.”
“My wife leaves when she wants to leave. And if she wants to stay, none of you are in any position to make her go.”
A man appeared at the entrance, and all eyes turned toward him.
It was none other than Song Qing’s husband, Rong Heng.
Su Kangcheng’s face turned ashen, but ultimately, he didn’t dare to truly confront Rong Heng.
Song Qing led Yun Jiao onto the stage, picked up the microphone, and raised her voice to address the crowd.
“Everyone, I’m sure you’re all curious about what I’m doing here. It’s nothing much, really. I just want to get one thing straight. Su Kangcheng, is Su Nian really Zhiya’s daughter?!”
The moment she said this, the entire room erupted.
“What does this mean?”
“Is Mrs. Rong implying that Su Nian isn’t the daughter of Mr. Su’s first wife?”
“Honestly, don’t you all think Su Nian looks remarkably like Mr. Su’s current wife?”
“No way…”
The shrewder guests immediately sensed something was amiss.
Sun Shuzhen was the first to lose her composure. “What nonsense are you spouting? How could Nini not be—”
“Now, now, Mrs. Su, don’t be so anxious. I haven’t come here to frame you without reason.”
She produced two DNA paternity reports.
“This one is between you and Su Nian. And this one is between Su Kangcheng and Su Nian. The results show that you two are Su Nian’s biological parents.”
Su Kangcheng’s face went pale. “You… These are forgeries!”
Song Qing let out a soft laugh. “Forged or not, Su Kangcheng, don’t you know the truth in your own heart?”
“Oh, by the way, I bet you two ‘model spouses’ didn’t know you’ve both been cheating on each other. Well, actually, Mrs. Su, you were aware of your part, weren’t you? But I wonder, did you know that Su Kangcheng has an illegitimate son *and* daughter on the side? And that illegitimate son… oh, he’s just a little bit older than your own son.”
She clapped her hands, and a bodyguard immediately stepped forward, handing Sun Shuzhen a stack of photos showing Su Kangcheng with two different mistresses and their illegitimate children.
As soon as Sun Shuzhen looked at them, her eyes went red with fury.
She had known Su Kangcheng had mistresses, but he’d hidden them so well that she’d never been able to find any proof. She certainly had no idea he’d gone so far as to have an illegitimate son and daughter—and that the son was older than her own.
Incensed, Sun Shuzhen furiously threw the photographs at Su Kangcheng.
“Su Kangcheng! Is this how you treat me?!”
