As the auction continued, more rare treasures were brought onstage.

Qin Shuang and Jing Jing didn’t bid on anything, but watching the proceedings broadened their horizons considerably.

After several successful lots, a new item was unveiled. Shaura lifted the cloth to reveal a fist-sized Divine Time Stone. Even from across the hall, Han Wu could sense that its energy signature was nearly identical to that of the Time Particles he’d just bought, but incomparably denser.

“Is this one of yours?” Han Wu asked the Commerce God King.

Commerce smoothed his white hair. “I discovered it first, but I didn’t contribute to the extraction. I only hold twenty percent.”

Han Wu gasped. Twenty percent of that stone was already a fortune! Based on the energy it radiated, he estimated its effect to be at least a hundred times stronger than that of a single Time Particle.

Shaura announced a starting bid of 2,000 Microcosms. He explained that placing the Divine Time Stone inside a divine realm would increase its time flow by fifty percent. One realm day could be stretched into two. Its value was extraordinary, whether one used it to cultivate or grow their units.

The moment Shaura announced the starting price, paddles shot up across the floor. The price rocketed from 2,000 to 8,500 Microcosms and kept climbing.

Han Wu was visibly shaken. These tycoons really didn’t treat Microcosms like money.

A single dim Microcosm was worth at least 100 Divine Essence. High-quality ones were effectively priceless. Under ideal conditions, 8,500 Microcosms could theoretically raise eight and a half Subcosm fighters.

Han Wu did the math. If he planted the Divine Time Stone into his divine realm Core, his units’ cultivation speed would double. Combined with his massive population of units, twice the time meant double the Faith Points. The additional growth would also produce new Microcosms for him. The stone would pay for itself over and over. ℯ

The moment he realized that, he raised his paddle and called out a staggering number. “10,000 Microcosms!”

Every head in the general seating turned toward his VIP box. They were all thinking the same thing: whoever was inside had to be incredibly wealthy. The previous bidders had been inching upward to 8,500. Han Wu’s jump of 1,500 Microcosms in a single bid stunned the hall. It left no breathing room for competitors.

Shaura didn’t know who had called out the bid. He stood at the podium and silently counted down. No one challenged it. Han Wu claimed the Divine Time Stone with ease.

The moment he received it, Han Wu immediately loaded it into his divine realm. Time inside hastened by fifty percent just as Shaura had said. Every life form continued training and growing as usual, but they now had twice as much time to do so. He had a feeling that he would be producing a lot of talented units soon.

The Divine Time Stone marked an early peak in the auction. The items that followed were rare, but none could compare to it, and their prices dropped accordingly.

Han Wu was watching contentedly when a knock came at the door. Commerce went to answer it.

A server stood outside. “The guests in VIP Box 3 have sent a fruit basket to congratulate you on winning the Divine Time Stone.”

The server carried in an enormous platter of exotic fruits and departed.

Commerce stared at it in bafflement. He’d never received this kind of treatment. Who was sitting in VIP Box 3?

Han Wu was already waving the others over to eat. Every fruit in the basket came from a different civilization. Assembling the platter alone would’ve cost a small fortune.

“Who do you think is in Box 3?” Commerce mused as he helped himself to a piece.

He started mentally eliminating candidates. It wasn’t the Wealth Faction, whose members were all working the event. It wasn’t the Death Faction either. Death Faction members carried an aura of decay wherever they went, yet every fruit on the platter was pristine.

But these two were the largest factions within the Divine Civilization. Several smaller factions filled the gaps, but he doubted any of them could afford something like that.

After a moment, Commerce considered going over to find out who was in Box 3. Even so, he needed a proper excuse. He couldn’t simply walk into someone else’s box without a valid reason.

Before Commerce could act, Sun Qingnian supplied the answer. “Box 3 belongs to the Forest Clan. They’re here browsing the auction.”

Commerce deflated. How did Sun Qingnian know more than he did?

Han Wu glanced at Sun Qingnian. Judging by Sun Qingnian’s wink, Han Wu was fairly certain there was an informant inside Box 3.

“The Forest Clan’s elites are definitely worth meeting. I hear they produce all kinds of fruit. If we build a relationship now, there’s money to be made selling fruit later,” Commerce muttered.

Business never left his mind. [1]

1. Bro, fruit? Why do I have a feeling a certain g*m-g*m fruit is going to show up ☜
