Chapter 1035 - The Forest Clan

Han Wu had never heard of the Forest Clan, so Sun Qingnian filled him in.

The Forest Clan was similar in nature to the Destruction Clan. Both were ancient families that had once produced powerful God Kings. After those God Kings fell, the families withdrew from public life and kept to themselves, seeking only peace and comfort.

The Divine Civilization had many such reclusive families. They rarely appeared in public, but wielded considerable power behind the scenes. Underestimating them would be a grave mistake.

According to Sun Qingnian, the Forest Clan had a fighter who could hold his own against the Death God King for an extended period. Supposedly, that person had even survived the Proclamation of Death head-on!

Han Wu was stunned.After all, he himself was a Mesocosm fighter when he unleashed his full power, yet even he wasn’t confident he could withstand the Proclamation of Death. What level had this Forest Clan fighter reached? It had to be beyond the God King rank.

The Commerce God King straightened his white hair to make himself more presentable. Qin Shuang and Jing Jing took their places on either side of Han Wu with calm expressions.

Sun Qingnian knocked. “Sun Qingnian, Han Wu, Qin Shuang, Jing Jing, and Commerce King Li Xiulian request an audience.”

“Come in,” a deep voice replied.

Inside, four members of the Forest Clan were seated. There were three men and one woman. The men consisted of an elder, a middle-aged man, and a young man, while the woman was also young. The moment she saw Sun Qingnian, she shot him a look. She was clearly his informant.

The elder radiated the strongest aura of the four and was evidently their leader.

Han Wu bowed respectfully. “Junior Han Wu pays his respects to the Forest Clan elders.”

The elder glanced at Han Wu and sensed his vigorous Life Energy. Surprise flickered across his face. In a flash he appeared beside Han Wu, gripped his arm, and sent a pulse of energy through his veins. It coursed through his blood and spread to every corner of his body.

“So that’s why. Your extraordinary Life Energy comes from possessing the Life Jurisdiction!” the elder exclaimed.

Han Wu quickly pulled his arm back. He had gained a new appreciation for the Forest Clan’s methods. “May I ask the elder’s name?”

“My surname is Ye. Ye Xiao,” the elder replied.

“Ye Cang,” the middle-aged man added.

The two younger members introduced themselves as Ye Qing, the man, and Ye Hong, the lady.

“Elder Ye Xiao, Elder Ye Cang, thank you for the fruit platter,” Han Wu said.

“We saw you bid on the Divine Time Stone and wanted to express our congratulations,” Ye Cang said.

From the side, Ye Hong muttered, “Funny, because a minute ago, someone was grinding his teeth and saying he wanted to fight the buyer for 300 rounds over it.”

“Ye Hong, be quiet,” Ye Xiao snapped.

Ye Hong pouted and fell silent. The revelation left Ye Cang visibly embarrassed.

Ye Xiao smoothly changed the subject. “What brings you here?”

“Nothing in particular. We simply wanted to pay our respects,” Han Wu answered.

Qin Shuang and Jing Jing had mostly come out of curiosity to see whether the Forest Clan looked any different from ordinary people. They didn’t. They had the same noses, mouths, and two eyes as everyone else.

“What do you mean, nothing? I have business!” Commerce burst out. “Elder Ye Xiao, Brother Ye Cang, I’m the Commerce God King. I specialize in trade. That fruit platter was absolutely divine. If we marketed it to the wider player base, it would sell like wildfire!”

Ye Xiao and Ye Cang smiled politely but turned their attention to Han Wu. They could tell he was the strongest in the group. He was overflowing with Life Energy and possessed numerous Jurisdictions. Naturally, they assumed he was the leader and that Commerce was his white-haired errand boy.

“Young Han Wu, do you share this sentiment?” Ye Xiao asked.

Han Wu shook his head, then nodded. “Not exactly. Before coming here, I hadn’t planned to ask for any fruit. That said, if the Forest Clan is willing, we’d happily buy some to save for later.”

Ye Xiao smiled. “Since you enjoy fruit, come visit us after the auction. We’ll feed you until you’re full.”

Sun Qingnian whispered a warning, “The Forest Clan’s invitations shouldn’t be refused.”

Han Wu didn’t understand why, but he followed the advice. “Then it’s a deal.”

The Forest Clan members lit up with excitement. They looked ready to leave immediately and start preparing for their guests, but the auction wasn’t over yet.

Han Wu continued chatting with Ye Xiao and soon had the old man laughing. Qin Shuang and Ye Hong hit it off instantly and chattered nonstop. Jing Jing stood silently to the side.

Meanwhile, Commerce cornered Ye Cang to discuss the fruit business, promising the best possible prices. Ye Cang’s reaction was lukewarm. He neither refused nor showed much interest.

When the intermission ended, Han Wu said his goodbyes and returned to his own box.

The moment the door closed behind him, his legs buckled, and he nearly collapsed.

Everyone panicked.

Qin Shuang rushed to his side. “Han Wu, what’s wrong? Are you sick?”

Jing Jing scooped him up and prepared to carry him outside to find a healer.

“I’m fine. Put me down,” Han Wu said as color gradually returned to his face. “The Forest Clan is no joke. The elder, Ye Xiao, is a Mesocosm fighter. The middle-aged one, Ye Cang, has also stepped into the Mesocosm rank. The two younger ones are both Subcosm fighters. The strange part is that I couldn’t sense any of their divine realms!”
