The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 1042 - Fall of the Lightning God King
Lei Bing hadn’t expected Han Wu to be this strong. He could hardly believe his eyes. Despite technically being a Major God, Han Wu’s army surpassed Lei Bing’s.
It didn’t seem possible, but the truth was laid out before him. His units were firmly pinned down. They couldn’t be recalled to help him.
That meant he’d have to face Han Wu alone.
Before engaging, he sent a private message to Di Hong, “Lord Di Hong, please back me up when the moment comes!”
Di Hong didn’t reply, preoccupied with his own dire situation. Han Wu’s Great Dragons and Jing Jing’s skeleton sea were closing in on his Chaos Spirits. Over a hundred Bone Dragons lurked within the sea of bones.
Han Wu gave them no time to coordinate. He surged forward toward Lei Bing and swung Peerless. “Stellar Rain!”
Billions of energy blades shot forward.
The Lightning God King threw up his Lightning Jurisdiction to block them.
Savage lightning crackled outward in thousands of branches, shattering the incoming blades, but at the cost of enormous amounts of energy.
Han Wu remained unfazed. Hundreds and thousands of Microcosms surrounded him, generating energy and channeling it into his body. His Conversion Jurisdiction transformed all of it as necessary. His reserves were effectively limitless.
Lei Bing summoned his own Microcosms. Although he had far fewer than Han Wu, each one was a high-quality pure lightning Microcosm that could act as a battery for him. Despite this, he could tell that Han Wu would outlast him if Lei Bing kept staying on the defense. Lei Bing had to strike back.
Compressing every single drop of energy his Microcosms could provide and temporarily draining them dry, he activated one of the Lightning Jurisdiction’s ultimate techniques, Infinite Railgun. He condensed a single shot that rivaled the power of a Mesocosm technique.
“Consider it your honor to die under my Infinite Railgun,” Lei Bing roared, firing the shot.
A hyper-compressed lightning sphere flew from his palm, expanding as it traveled. The electromagnetic field it generated pulled everything around it inward. Han Wu was caught directly in its path and couldn’t escape the pull.
“Die!” Lei Bing screamed. He was desperate to prove his worth to Di Hong.
Han Wu was sucked into the attack. Crackling static filled the air. Lei Bing was certain that even a Subcosm fighter couldn’t survive the blast.
Then a low dragon roar cut through the noise, and a rainbow-colored dragon silhouette appeared inside the sphere of lightning.
“Another Great Dragon? Where did it come from?” Lei Bing was stunned. The pressure rolling off this dragon belonged to a Mesocosm life form. Great Dragons were almost always stronger than most other species of equal rank.
Then he noticed a chunk of his Infinite Railgun was missing—not destroyed, but consumed. The Great Dragon had opened its maw to drink in the hyper-compressed Lightning Energy. Han Wu’s Holy Dragon King worked with the Conversion Jurisdiction to help him absorb and transform the Lightning Jurisdiction’s power. This worked far faster than just the Conversion Jurisdiction alone.
After swallowing the Infinite Railgun, he let out a loud burp. Lei Bing’s mind went blank. His ultimate attack had been eaten like a snack.
“Who-who are you?” he stuttered, a foreboding feeling in his gut.
Han Wu didn’t answer. Instead, he shrank down into his half-dragon mode. In this form, his energy attacks weakened, but his physical strength soared.
Then, Peerless appeared in his right hand, and the Divine Authority greatsword in his left. This alone answered Lei Bing’s question.
“Impossible! Are you a God or a Great Dragon?” Lei Bing asked in fear.
Han Wu crossed a hundred meters in a single step. Peerless came down in a single stroke. There was no special technique, just the raw speed and power of his True Holy Dragon Transformation.
The strike carved a spatial rift through the air.
Lei Bing saw it coming, but knew he couldn’t dodge. Han Wu was simply too fast.
Turning to Di Hong with desperation in his eyes, he cried, “Lord Di Hong, save me!”
Di Hong glanced over, then looked away. His Chaos Spirits were crumbling under the attacks of the Great Dragons. He had no time to care about Lei Bing.
The feeling of abandonment didn’t last long before Peerless landed. It only took one strike for Lei Bing’s head to separate from his body.
But he wasn’t dead yet. At the last second, he’d converted himself into a pure elemental lightning form to drastically reduce the damage. Seeing this, Han Wu followed up with the Divine Authority greatsword.
Han Wu’s Destruction Aspect had upgraded after absorbing the Destruction Clan’s pure bloodline, granting the greatsword a 5% chance of inflicting Deathblow.
This chance wasn’t high, but it was enough. Lei Bing’s luck ran out.
The effect triggered, severing his Life Energy and extinguishing his soul. The previously gloating Lightning God King had been reduced to a corpse.
Han Wu immediately used Stellar Plunder to claim forty percent of Lei Bing’s Microcosms and the complete Lightning Jurisdiction.
The Lightning God King of this generation had fallen.
