The Plant Master Becomes A Mute Sub-Beast: Farming And Laying Eggs

Chapter 331: Merchant Boss Marcos and the Immortality Potion

  • Next Chapter

Less than fifteen minutes after Sword Saint Godfrey threw the black iron command token down on the table, the ground on the slope leading down to dock number one resounded with the rapid galloping of hooves.

A giant carriage carved entirely from agarwood and encrusted with sparkling gold dashed like flying down to the port. Before the carriage could come to a complete stop, the carriage door burst open, and an old man wearing an expensive purple mink coat hurriedly jumped down, almost tripping on the step and falling face-first.

This old man was Marcos, one of the Twelve Merchant Bosses who held the power of life and death in Silverport, and also the person directly managing all the casinos and slave markets in the southern area of the city.

According to what Godfrey said earlier, Marcos was over seventy-five years old this year. However, when he approached, Kaelen noticed that the old man’s facial skin was bizarrely taut and smooth, without a single wrinkle of old age, his hair as pitch-black as if just dyed with ink. Only his cloudy eyes and the overpowering scent of perfume radiating from his clothes could not hide the decay from within.

Vargas, currently kneeling flat on the ground, seeing his uncle appear, acted as if grabbing a lifeline. He hurriedly crawled on his hands and knees to hug Marcos’s pant leg:

"Uncle! Uncle, save me..."

Smack!

Marcos did not even bother to let his nephew finish his sentence, directly pulling back his leg and delivering a straight kick right into the middle of Vargas’s face.

Vargas’s round fat body, like a meat pig, was kicked flying several meters away, rolling tumbling past the dock edge then falling with a "splash" into the salty seawater.

Having dealt with the stupid nephew who dared to anger an old acquaintance, Marcos immediately turned around, his taut face quickly squeezing out a maximally sycophantic smile, bowing low to greet Godfrey then looking over at Kaelen and Sane:

"Oh my, Sea King Godfrey Sir! Nineteen years not meeting, your demeanor is still as majestic and brave as the old days! My stupid, ignorant nephew has eyes but no pupils, daring to offend you and these two noble guests here. Later I will definitely peel his skin off to make a chair cushion to apologize for my crime to you all!"

Saying that, Marcos hurriedly took out from inside his shirt a card crafted from black diamond thin as a cicada’s wing, engraved on it with an image of a blood-red crescent moon, respectfully presenting it with both hands before Kaelen:

"Just hearing the news that Sir Godfrey’s master wants to participate in the Blood Moon Auction session the day after tomorrow, this old man immediately took the highest Diamond-class invitation card of the Merchant Boss Council bringing here. Holding this card in hand, the two Sirs will get to sit in a private VIP room on the highest floor of Auction Island, all accommodation expenses at the hillside villa during the time staying in Silverport will be completely covered by this Marcos alone!"

Kaelen did not personally receive the card but only slightly jerked his chin. A Black Panther clan warrior standing behind his back immediately stepped up receiving the diamond card.

Although Marcos still kept his eyes crinkled in a smile outwardly, the cunning eyes of an old business fox still discreetly swept over the black merchant ship behind and the fifty tall, burly escorts of the Lyra delegation.

In Silverport, the prestige of Sword Saint Godfrey was indeed terrifying, but wanting to sit in the Diamond-class VIP room to bid for the finale items of the Merchant Boss Council, martial power alone was not enough, one must also have money. A lot of money!

Sane standing beside Kaelen saw right through the probing thoughts of the old man before him.

He did not say a word, only indifferently flicked his finger lightly once.

The ironwood chest carried by two White Elephant clan warriors at the back immediately popped its lid open.

The early morning sunlight shone into the chest, reflecting back a halo so dazzling that it made the entire crowd on dock number one hold their breath!

Inside the chest, over one square meter wide, were not gold coins cast mixed with impurities of the secular kingdoms, but individual pure solid gold ingots cast squarely without a single scratch, stacked on top of each other acting as the bottom lining layer. And on top of that solid gold layer were over a hundred high-level magic cores as large as children’s fists, of all elements from Fire, Water, Wind all the way to Lightning, every single core radiating pure magical energy fluctuations to the point of making the surrounding air also vibrate slightly!

In the current Great World, just a single high-level magic core like this brought out for auction was enough to buy outright an entire small city in the provinces. Yet this purple-haired Sir before them actually used a whole chest of magic cores just as pocket change to stroll the market!

Marcos’s cloudy eyes immediately widened perfectly round as if about to fall out of their sockets, his breathing became rapid, his voice trembling due to extreme excitement:

"Distinguished guests! Truly distinguished grand guests coming from afar! Just this one chest of yours alone is enough to buy outright half of the goods on Auction Island this season already Sir!"

Sane coldly waved his hand closing the chest lid back, his deep voice ringing out:

"Money then we do not lack, the thing we lack is an item worthy of opening the chest. If your Blood Moon Auction session only has a few ordinary ragged items, ruining my mate’s mood, then this Silverport does not need to open the next auction session anymore."

Marcos was made to shiver once by the freezing cold killing intent stream in Sane’s eyes, but thinking of that massive fortune, he immediately swallowed his saliva, stepped forward one step lowering his voice speaking softly as if afraid outsiders would overhear:

"Please two Sirs rest assured! This time’s Blood Moon Auction session of ours is exactly the largest session in the past ten years! Besides thirty-two top-grade Immortality Potion bottles having just been refined from pure blood, the final finale item on the third night will definitely make you two absolutely satisfied!"

Kaelen slightly raised his eyebrows, pretending to be curious asking: "Oh? What thing is it that makes you so confident?"

Marcos looked forward peered backward once, after that finally leaned closer, on his face exposing unhidden greed and cruelty:

"Two Sirs, last month the special hunting team of our Council lost over three hundred mercenary lives to surround and capture a premium prey at the edge region of the White Bone Forest. That is a pureblood Grand Elder of the ancient Elf clan!

That old woman once directly drank the morning dew of the World Tree in the past, therefore the heart currently beating in her chest is exactly a living holy medicine pill! Our pharmacists have verified it, anyone eating that heart raw when it is newly extracted from the chest, not only can become fifty years younger but also has the opportunity to directly break through to the Saint stage realm!"

Right when Marcos’s malicious words were just uttered from his mouth, Kaelen clearly felt the four small legs of the leopard cub Finnick currently standing on his shoulder suddenly go completely stiff.

The leopard cub’s sharp claws dug tightly into the fabric layer on his shirt shoulder, the small body covered fully in fuzz trembling very slightly because of the wrath currently surging up like an about-to-erupt volcano in its chest.

Kaelen hurriedly raised his hand, pretending as if stroking the smooth fur of a pet, but actually transmitted a cool Nature divine power stream over to help his son suppress the killing intent, not exposing any flaw before the old fox Marcos.

Simultaneously, Finnick’s deep, ice-cold voice also rang out directly in Kaelen’s and Sane’s seas of consciousness through mental voice transmission:

[Papa, Daddy, the person this old man just mentioned definitely is Grand Elder Sylphie of the Elf clan, the person who once substituted for me taking care of the World Tree throughout thousands of years before I fell!]

Finnick paused for a beat, his dark green eyes staring intently at the slightly bulging belly part under merchant boss Marcos’s mink coat:

[Furthermore I just discovered a matter. On this old man Marcos’s body reeks heavily of the blood smell of Elf clan people, clearly he has drunk that so-called Immortality Potion not a few times. But right inside his stomach and heart meridian at this moment... there is a grayish-black parasitic insect of the God of Decay lying curled up in there!]

Kaelen and Sane hearing that their gazes simultaneously crossed.

Kaelen still maintained the faint smile on his lips, nodding with Marcos:

"Sounds interesting indeed. Then lead the way go, we rest for two days then will go up to the island seeing how your finale item is."
