The Rebate Tycoon: Spend on Him, Get Rich
Chapter 57: Secondary Evolution?
Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Secondary Evolution?
Rian Sinclair sent Ash Sinclair back to school, giving him a long list of instructions. She chose to forget the incident of catching him at Moonlight earlier, but before she left, she gave him an extra thousand dollars.
She told him to focus on preparing for his exams.
After a busy trip, Rian finally returned to the villa. The Yaz had already been delivered. She saw Bandage bouncing around aimlessly on the lawn, with Auntie Alden keeping an eye on her from the side.
Seeing her owner return, Bandage hurried over. However, because the pup was too small and her limbs couldn’t quite coordinate, all Rian saw was the little dog stumbling and tumbling her way over.
Smiling, Rian scooped her "good girl" into her arms, greeted Auntie Alden, and went inside.
Inside the villa, the staff went about their respective duties. Rian had already left strict instructions: if anything came up, they were to look for the butler, not her.
Back in her room, she wiped the little pup’s paws clean and let her bounce around freely. After washing her own hands, Rian leaned back in her gaming chair.
As soon as she entered the livestream channels, the streamers immediately began vying for her attention. She switched through several streams in a row, but the reaction was the same everywhere. Rian sought out the streamers she had followed previously. They were all live, so she popped into their rooms, tipped tens of millions, and swiftly moved on to the next. Once she had tipped everyone on her following list, she simply logged off.
Ignoring the barrage of messages they sent her, Rian checked the time. It was only around three or four in the afternoon. She suddenly felt like the day was dragging on forever. How was she supposed to pass the rest of her time?
Remembering the 60 Attribute Points she had farmed from Number 8, Cameron Hughes, and Number 9, Jason Rivers, she said, "System, open the attribute panel."
Host: [Rian Sinclair]

Strength: [90]

Lottery Draws: [0]
Noticing that the Charm Value had inexplicably vanished, Rian asked in confusion, "Why did the Charm Value disappear?"
[Based on an analysis of this world, possessing money equates to possessing charm. Therefore, the Charm Value is maxed out and hidden by default. You may tap to view it if desired.]
Rian didn’t overthink it. Not having to spend Attribute Points to increase it meant she had plenty to spare. Looking at her 60 Attribute Points, she pondered for a moment before saying, "Max out IQ, Appearance, Figure, Spirit, and Strength."
[Understood, Host.]
Seeing the 10 points left over and unsure of what else to use them on, she said casually, "Put the remaining 10 points into IQ."
She had assumed it wouldn’t work since the stat was already maxed out; she couldn’t even fathom what would happen if it went any higher.
[DING! Point allocation successful! Secondary Brain Evolution initiated.]
She wondered what a secondary evolution was and feared it might end up turning her into some kind of freakish monster.
"System, explain," she demanded.
[The brain development of Blue Star Humans is incomplete. Their IQ is categorized as follows: below 100 falls into the primary brain domain, while above 100 enters the secondary brain domain, triggering a corresponding secondary differentiation. Advanced brain development grants unique insights into all fields and allows access to realms of knowledge currently beyond the reach of Blue Star Humans.]
"Are there other people on Blue Star who have undergone secondary brain evolution?"
The system didn’t reply immediately. After a few seconds of silence, it continued, [According to recorded data, no. Everyone remains in the primary brain domain. However, many great historical figures had an IQ of over 90, touching the threshold of the secondary domain without fully reaching it.
[This is also a genetic limitation of Blue Star Humans, making it exceedingly difficult to cross the threshold into the secondary brain domain.]
"Is there a tertiary one?"
[No, there is only a secondary domain. Beyond this, brain development is calculated by percentage. Currently, your brain development is only at 0.1 percent. Attribute Points will provide very slow percentage growth from this point onward, but engaging in deep learning will yield favorable increases.]
Hearing this, Rian understood. If she just forcibly added points and did nothing, this secondary evolution would be useless. But if she actively applied herself—studying and putting things into practice—the added points would serve as a powerful booster.
She knew that many scientists had studied the brain, but it was said that humanity had only unlocked 10% of its potential. The human brain was largely an uncharted territory. Was the current 10% referring to the entire brain, or just the primary brain domain? Now that the system had brought up the concept of evolution, Rian felt a little bewildered.
Brain development? Secondary brain evolution? She decided to drop the subject. There was no point overthinking it; her only job right now was to focus on spending money.
After heading downstairs to enjoy some dessert prepared by the kitchen, she received a call from Donovan Sinclair.
Rian stared out the window, her eyes dull and somewhat dazed. Did anyone understand her pain? She was at home, yet she still had to deal with work!
As soon as she picked up Donovan Sinclair’s call, she sensed something was off. Donovan had handed the foundation’s affairs over to Fiona Sinclair, which meant Fiona was coming over to discuss the foundation’s operations. The original concept for the foundation was born out of a reverence for the law of karma: distributing wealth to accumulate good deeds.
When Fiona arrived at the villa and saw Ms. Sinclair’s utterly listless expression, she could guess what was on her mind. Even so, the foundation’s matters ultimately needed to be reviewed by the boss. Not just the foundation—all future business ventures would need to pass through her first. It was a necessary step for her to familiarize herself with the properties under her name.
Seeing Fiona arrive, Rian let out a sigh and slipped into work mode. She only had to endure a brief moment of fatigue, whereas they had to stay busy constantly. Such was the life of a corporate slave.
"Ms. Sinclair," Fiona greeted.
Rian nodded in response. "Let’s go to the study."
In the study.
Auntie Alden prepared some tea and quietly withdrew.
Fiona pulled out several documents and handed them over. After receiving permission, she took a seat to the side. Rian flipped through the papers; it was the finalized business plan for the foundation.
"Ms. Sinclair, our foundation’s current financial aid for impoverished households covers all of Veridia, rather than just one specific region. More remote areas have been recorded in our database, and we are currently dispatching personnel to survey even more isolated regions."
Rian skimmed the materials. "That’s a good thing, but the recipients must have strong moral character. We aren’t here to fund a bunch of lawbreakers who endanger society."
"Please rest assured, Ms. Sinclair. We will meticulously vet their background information and won’t distribute funds blindly. Furthermore, the recipient profiles will be emailed to you, allowing you to handpick talented individuals to work for you."
Rian didn’t reply, her eyes scanning the proposal. Every section was incredibly detailed. Though executing it would be time-consuming and labor-intensive, it would genuinely help those in need. Setting the documents on the desk, she jotted something down with her fountain pen before speaking up.
"What you’ve proposed is essentially poverty alleviation. It provides general assistance to certain households, but we can break it down further. For students seeking education, we can fund their schooling to cultivate talent for the country. Another point: for families facing sudden misfortunes—like unexpected illnesses where they lack the savings to cover medical bills—we can offer financial aid for that as well.
"Of course, following up on cases like that would be much more complicated. We could set up a website where those who suffer sudden illnesses but can’t afford treatment can apply. Then, your team can verify the authenticity of their applications."
As Rian said these things, a heavy feeling settled in her chest. She had seen far too many tragedies: families struck by sudden disaster, households destroyed by patriarchal favoritism, or people forced to watch a loved one suffer from illness because they had the will to help but no money to pay for it.
People spent their entire lives hustling for money. Some toiled in mediocrity until the day they died, while others feasted on banquets every single day.
There was a saying that Rian had kept in her heart for a long time.
How could ten years of diligent study ever overcome three generations of accumulated wealth?
