Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Don’t Easily Set a Flag

By the time she finished helping Ash Sinclair with another physics problem, it was already 1:00 a.m. Seeing that the more he worked, the more energized he became, she directly forced him to call it a night.

"Are you still planning on going to school tomorrow?" she asked.

Scolded, Ash didn’t dare utter a peep. He packed his test papers into his schoolbag and obediently went to wash up. Only after seeing him move did Rian Sinclair leave his room. Returning to her own room, she washed up, sank into her soft, large bed, and fell into a deep sleep.

[DING! Current location is eligible for check-in. Would the host like to check in now?]

"Check in."

[DING! Check-in successful! Congratulations to the host on acquiring a Boeing 787 private jet! The interior has been upgraded to the most luxurious configuration! A full crew, including the captain and co-captain, has been automatically assigned!]

[DING! An airspace flight permit has been automatically applied for and obtained. We hope the host enjoys a superior flight service experience on future travels!]

Sitting on her sofa the next day, Rian thought of the super-luxury yacht she had checked in for previously, and now this private jet. She thought, "This is absolutely top-tier!" After receiving the notification from the aviation department, she didn’t just hand the matter straight over to Donovan Sinclair to manage, as she had done with the yacht. This time, she planned to go see it herself.

Although she had seen airplanes before and had even flown in them when early tickets were cheap, stepping onto her own private jet was a completely novel experience. However, plans were made to be broken.

Seeing Quentin Sinclair appear in front of her again, Rian felt that her free afternoon was about to vanish. Quentin handed her a phone. Reflected in her eyes was a video of a middle-aged man crying.

"Miss, this man is slandering the foundation. He claims we embezzled his money and is crying about it on a livestream," Quentin said.

Rian pursed her lips and looked at the trending headline: [The Big Shot Who Tipped 100 Million is Actually Scamming Poor People Out of Their Lifesaving Money!] She thought, "Sure enough, just adding some title brackets to a few words is enough to make anything go viral!"

She watched the entire video. The man on screen was kneeling on the ground, holding his phone to the camera, and sobbing hysterically. He claimed that his family was destitute, and after happening to see the foundation announcement posted by "Innocent Girl Pigsy," he had submitted his information. Instead of receiving help, the foundation allegedly drained every last penny of lifesaving money from his bank account.

The comment section was unanimously cursing her. Rian calmly read through them all. The world was full of all kinds of people—those who resented the rich, those who were fiercely jealous...

[This makes me sick. She’s so rich, yet she’s swindling us poor people. She puts on a show online just to run off with everyone’s money, right?]

[Isn’t that absolutely disgusting?]

[Evil capitalist! She has the money to throw huge tips around, but she still wants to snatch the few hard-earned pennies from us ordinary folks? I’m literally going to throw up. Can people like this just die!]

[So gross. I suggest this person gets hit by a car the moment she steps outside. Someone doxx @Innocent Girl Pigsy for me. What a bastardly thing to do.]

Notifications popped up at the top of the screen from many streamers she had tipped before. They had stood up for her in the comments, but they were being torn to shreds by the mob, with netizens accusing them of conspiring together to put on a fake show. Rian genuinely wanted to laugh. Pulling out over a billion dollars just to put on a show? That was one expensive show.

"Miss, how do you want to handle this? Should we hand it straight to the lawyers, or...?" Quentin asked after seeing she had finished the video.

"Hire the lawyers for now. The headquarters needs high-level legal counsel on standby. Look into paying top dollar for an elite legal team," Rian replied, waving her hand dismissively.

Hearing this, Quentin nodded. Seeing that Rian didn’t seem affected in the slightest, he felt relieved.

However, she had lent her Sharkstream account to Wyatt Shepherd, and she had no idea if he was done using it. She had indeed posted about the foundation in her previous videos. Shortly after handing the phone back to Quentin, Rian received a call. Quentin took two steps back to give her privacy. After hanging up, Rian took out her own phone and logged into her Sharkstream account. The call had been from Officer Forrest; with the previous matter resolved, she was finally able to use her account again.

Upon opening Sharkstream, she didn’t even need to rely on her memory. She went straight to the search bar, clicked into the trending tab to find the man’s video, and then tapped his profile picture to enter his livestream. Because she had spent an exorbitant amount of money on the platform, her exclusive, extravagant entrance animation triggered the moment she entered his channel.

Many people recognized Rian’s entrance animation, causing the live chat to instantly surge like a tidal wave. Viewers began furiously rebuking her for the malicious crime of scamming and stealing someone’s lifesaving money. Watching this unfold, Rian saw the middle-aged man on screen start his tearful plea again, begging the "big boss" not to take his money. Rian didn’t type a single comment; she directly sent a request to co-stream.

Although the other side didn’t accept, after waiting for a minute, she was automatically forced onto the audio channel. Her Sharkstream account held the absolute highest privileges on the platform—and the streamer couldn’t even kick her out.

The man naturally had no idea such a feature existed. He was still wailing when Rian’s cold, clear voice echoed through the livestream, instantly freezing his tear-stained face.

"You claim that my foundation ran off with your lifesaving money?"

The man was initially stunned, but the moment he heard the word "money," he immediately put on an act and started bawling again. "Big boss, you have the ability to make vast fortunes! Please don’t covet the blood, sweat, and tears of ordinary folks like us!"

When Rian’s voice first rang out, many viewers sensed something fishy was going on. But upon hearing the man’s cries, they instantly sided with him again. After all, most of them were ordinary people too, and they naturally projected themselves into his shoes.

Rian let out a soft chuckle. "Sir, submitting your information to the foundation is for us to determine whether you qualify as a low-income household. We don’t ask for your bank card PIN.

"Furthermore, the process for submitting foundation applications is posted on my profile page. The entire procedure is clearly visible. It does not involve any financial transactions, nor does it ask you to fill out any bank card details.

"If you apply for poverty assistance, our funds are allocated directly to your local town or municipal government. If it’s medical assistance, we coordinate directly with your hospital.

"The financial aid is never transferred directly to your personal card. So, how exactly did my foundation run off with your hard-earned money? Does the person who cries the loudest automatically become right?"

Rian’s tone remained calm and steady. Setting up the foundation had originally been out of goodwill to help people. She had considered giving the money directly to individuals, but there was no guarantee they would use it where it was truly needed. Instead, for the destitute, she handed the funds over to the local government to disburse on a monthly basis, preventing people from receiving large lump sums and squandering them on bad habits. For hospital treatments, the money was deposited directly into the hospital’s accounts. Treatment costs were deducted from that deposit, preventing situations where people, having the money in hand, chose to recklessly waste it rather than seek proper medical care.

The man was left utterly speechless by her explanation. The audience in the livestream was also beginning to realize the truth.

[I just checked out Miss Innocent’s videos. I think this is a fantastic initiative with zero downsides. You just fill out some basic info, and after being verified, you get a relief fund. This girl is a literal walking charity.]

[F*ck this, I got completely duped. Looking back at the video, I feel like I just got played for a fool!]

[I actually applied for this for my dad! The relief funds were sent straight to the hospital. The medical bills were so high that my dad originally wanted to give up, but this foundation saved my broken family.]
