The Rich Cultivator
Chapter 806. A Debt from Past
Chapter 806: 806. A Debt from Past
Meanwhile, in a warm and cozy bedroom within Pink Street, the noise of the outside world seemed to have been completely isolated. The room was filled with the faint fragrance of incense, and the dim light from the spiritual lamp cast a soft glow over the surroundings.
Tyler sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the naked woman beside him with a strange expression.
The woman had tears streaming down her face.
This left Tyler somewhat confused.
Only a few moments ago, this woman had been passionate and bold, completely different from the tearful appearance she now displayed. She had even called his name repeatedly while they were doing intensely, yet now she was crying as though she had encountered the greatest injustice beneath the heavens.
Tyler scratched his head.
"You were so fierce just now. Why are you crying now?"
The woman’s shoulders trembled.
"You... You really don’t remember me?"
Her voice was filled with sorrow.
Tyler frowned slightly. He searched through the memories in his mind, but there was only a vague feeling like a broken picture. No matter how hard he tried, he could not see the entire picture.
"I’m sorry." Tyler sighed. "I really don’t remember much."
The woman’s tears flowed even faster.
She covered her face with both hands and remained silent for a long time. Eventually, she slowly wiped away her tears and looked at him.
"My name is Juvi."
Tyler remained silent. Then she continued.
"I’m... your former fiancée."
The moment those words came out, Tyler’s expression changed.
Former fiancée?
A vague memory suddenly surfaced within his mind.
---
"Oh, and don’t go around telling people I was once your fiancée."
She reached into her sleeve, took out a copper coin, and tossed it toward him.
Clink.
The coin landed directly inside Tyler’s copper pot.
"Consider it charity."
The young couple laughed and walked away together.
---
"Ah That was you?" Tyler remembered.
Juvi nodded. A bitter smile appeared on her face. "Yes."
Tyler stared at her for several breaths before shaking his head.
"Wow..." He rubbed his forehead. "Then what happened afterward? You went with another man, didn’t you? What was his name again?"
Tyler thought for a moment before giving up, "Forget it. I don’t remember. I don’t care"
Juvi’s expression became somewhat strange.
Tyler continued honestly, "If I remember correctly, you were supposed to marry him, right?"
Hearing this, Juvi lowered her head.
"His family went bankrupt." Her voice was quiet. "His family was once considered powerful, but when their fortune collapsed, everything changed overnight. His relatives abandoned them, and he was kicked out of his own family together with me."
She paused.
"That useless bastard brought me here."
Her hands slowly tightened around the blanket.
"He thought he could recover his fortune through gambling. Instead, he lost everything. Eventually, he even gambled away his own life."
Tyler remained silent.
"I was sold as well." Juvi gave a weak laugh. "After that, I ended up here."
The Pink Street.
A place where cultivators came to seek pleasure, where they came to forget their troubles, and where countless unfortunate people were swallowed by the darkness of the city.
Juvi had become one of them.
"I suppose this is karma." She looked at Tyler with a complicated expression. "Your family once treated me very well. When you had nothing, I was not willing to stand beside you."
Her eyes became red once more. "But I betrayed you."
She smiled sadly.
"Look at me now. I’m nothing more than a woman working in a brothel, while you’re sitting here as my customer."
For a moment, Tyler did not know what to say.
He had never imagined that the woman who had once given him a copper coin on the street would eventually end up in such a place.
Perhaps this was what people called the unpredictability of fate.
One day, someone could stand high above the clouds.
The next day, they could fall into the mud.
Cultivators often said that the heavens were impartial, but Tyler had always felt that fate was far more complicated than that.
He looked at Juvi and spoke after a moment, "How about this?"
Juvi looked at him.
"I’ll redeem you." Tyler’s voice was calm. "I can give you some spirit stones and enough mortal money to live comfortably. You don’t need to stay here anymore. Go to the mortal world, find someone you like, marry him, and live an ordinary life."
There was no hidden intention in his words. He was simply offering her a way out. Juvi stared at him blankly.
Then she shook her head. "No."
Tyler frowned. "Why?"
He couldn’t understand, "Is staying in this place better than accepting my help?"
Juvi did not answer.
Instead, tears began to fall from her eyes once more. She suddenly pushed Tyler backward onto the bed.
Tyler was startled, "What are you doing?"
Juvi naked body climbed onto him, but she did not say anything.
A tear fell from the corner of her eye and landed on Tyler’s chest. Then another followed. Tyler’s expression slowly became serious, "Juvi..."
"Why?" Her voice trembled.
"Why are you still kind to me?"
Tyler fell silent.
"Why don’t you hate me?" Juvi’s tears continued falling. "You should laugh at me. You should resent me. You should curse me for betraying you."
Her voice gradually broke. "But you don’t even remember me properly, yet you’re still willing to help me."
She covered her face.
"Please..." Her shoulders trembled. "Please stop being kind to me."
Tyler looked at her quietly.
"Am I not even worthy of being hated by you?" Juvi asked with trembling voice.
The room became completely silent.
After a long time, Tyler sighed.
"I really don’t remember everything." He looked toward the ceiling. "Perhaps there are many things in the past that I will never remember. Perhaps there are people I once knew whose names have already disappeared from my mind."
He paused.
"But I’m still moving forward." His voice was gentle. "You should do the same."
Juvi slowly lowered her hands. Tyler can see her breast.
"Forget the past." Tyler smiled faintly. "Although... saying that is much easier than actually doing it."
He turned his gaze toward her.
"You can’t change what happened yesterday. You can’t return to the moment when you made your choice. No matter how much you regret it, the past will remain the past."
"However, you can decide what happens tomorrow."
His smile became slightly warmer.
"If your entire life is spent staring at your regrets, then even the good things standing before you will become meaningless."
"At least make today memorable."
Juvi stared at him.
"One day, perhaps years from now, you’ll look back on today." Tyler chuckled softly. "Instead of remembering only the pain, you might remember that someone once forgave you."
Juvi’s eyes trembled.
"Maybe this meeting is also a matter of fate." Tyler looked at her. "I don’t resent you."
He paused for a moment.
"Actually, I have a strange feeling that back then, I simply wasn’t good enough for you."
Juvi’s pupils contracted.
"And perhaps that is also part of the reason why everything turned out this way." He shook his head. "So don’t put all the blame on yourself."
For a long time, Juvi simply stared at him. She had imagined this meeting countless times. She had imagined him cursing her. She had imagined him mocking her. She had even imagined him looking at her with disgust. But she had never imagined forgiveness. That was why his kindness hurt more deeply than hatred ever could.
Her lips trembled.
Then she leaned forward and kissed him.
Then, the two people who had once been connected by an engagement finally settled the last thread between them.
There were no vows. There was no promise that they would meet again. Only the warmth of the room and the tears that slowly disappeared. Perhaps this was also a form of farewell.
Juvi is the one who rode Tyler like a cowgirl in a horse.
Even when the night grew deep, Juvi didn’t stop, she even took some Qi replenishment Pills to continue.
Then next day,
Tyler had already prepared everything for her. A pouch containing spirit stones and mortal currency. A carriage. And some reliable bodyguard. Even several talismans that could protect her from ordinary dangers.
Juvi held the pouch tightly in her hands. She looked at Tyler.
"Thank you." Those were the only words she could say.
Tyler nodded, "Take care."
Juvi stepped into the carriage. Before leaving, she turned around and glanced at the city behind her.
She recalled the countless spiritual lamps illuminated the night, and the sounds of laughter and music drifted through the Pink streets.
She had spent too many months here.
Yet today, for the first time, she felt that this place no longer belonged to her.
The carriage slowly moved away.
Juvi lowered the curtain and quietly watched the city disappear into the distance.
On the journey, she had once considered asking Tyler to let her remain by his side.
She had even imagined becoming one of his servants or maids if that was the only way she could repay him.
But eventually, she abandoned the thought.
His words continued to echo in her mind.
"Back then, I wasn’t good enough for you."’
She lowered her head.
"No..."
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
"It was me who wasn’t good enough for you anymore."
Perhaps that was the true meaning behind their meeting.
They had once been engaged. Then fate separated them. One had fallen into misery. The other had stepped onto a completely different path. And when they finally met again, they were no longer the people they had once been.
Some relationships were not meant to continue forever.
Perhaps they existed only so that two people could meet, influence one another, and then eventually walk toward different destinations.
