The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao
Chapter 441: Winning
A Top level Expert like the Iron-Faced Tiger only agreed to be the resident master at the boxing gym because of the constant stream of experts it attracted. Of course, the Huang Family’s reputation was also a factor, but that had nothing to do with Huang Sanlang. At his level, he couldn’t just order around a Top level Expert.
Never mind him—even the eldest young master, Huang Baiwen, didn’t have a Top level Expert he could command at will.
If he could get an expert like that on his side, he might actually have a chance to contend with his older brother.
As for the support of the Huang Family elders, that was a joke in his eyes.
‘The position of Patriarch should naturally go to the most capable. My talent far surpasses Huang Baiwen’s. If he didn’t hold the status of the direct heir, what right would he have to compete with me?’
…
On the stage, the fight between the two grew increasingly brutal. The Iron-Faced Tiger was completely suppressed, feeling both thrilled and alarmed.
He was thrilled by the immense pressure from Chen Erbao. ‘This is the real reason I came to the boxing gym, not for the Huang Family’s tens of millions!’
What alarmed him was the feeling that the pressure might be a little *too* much…
In just half a minute, they had exchanged more than a dozen blows, each as fast as lightning and swift as thunder. His forearms were already swelling, and several times he’d barely managed to block Chen Erbao’s fists. One slip-up, and he’d be KO’d.
The Iron-Faced Tiger’s breathing grew ragged, but his years of experience kept him from panicking. He continued to respond methodically, but the drain on his stamina was becoming too much to bear.
‘I have to end this quickly!’
The Iron-Faced Tiger made his decision. Gritting his teeth, he faced Chen Erbao’s incoming uppercut not by dodging, but by taking the hit. At the same time, his hands shot out and grabbed Chen Erbao’s shoulders.
BAM!
The fist landed on his abdomen, and the Iron-Faced Tiger felt as if his organs were about to rupture. His stomach convulsed, and the excruciating pain almost sent him to the ground.
His eyes instantly turned bloodshot, but his hands were already clamped onto Chen Erbao’s shoulders.
“ARGH!”
With a ferocious roar, he exerted all his strength, his fingers digging deep into Chen Erbao’s muscles. Then, with a savage tug, he tried to dislocate both of Chen Erbao’s arms.
Chen Erbao’s brow furrowed. ‘I can’t believe he found an opening even then. If our strengths were more evenly matched, he might have actually succeeded.’
‘Looks like I’m still not experienced enough. Compared to these old dogs who’ve been fighting for half their lives, I’m still a bit green.’
‘When experience isn’t enough, strength will have to do.’
Chen Erbao gave his shoulders a slight twitch. A fierce surge of qi energy flowed from his Dantian, instantly spreading throughout his body. The Iron-Faced Tiger’s fingers were flung off by the force, unable to maintain their grip.
His expression changed dramatically, his eyes filled with utter disbelief, as if he had just seen a ghost.
“You… you…”
“Time to sleep!”
Chen Erbao had no intention of letting him say more. He thrust his palm upward, striking the Iron-Faced Tiger on the chin, then followed up with a precise chop to the back of his neck.
THUMP!
As the Iron-Faced Tiger’s body thudded onto the ring, the surrounding clamor gradually died down. All eyes, wide with shock and horror, were fixed on the stage. For a moment, the entire venue was silent.
The referee swallowed hard and quickly announced the result, snapping the crowd out of their stupor.
“Chen Haonan is a fucking badass! A total badass! Who was cheering before? Go on, keep fucking cheering! I’ll fuck you all up…”
Feng Qingwan, puffing her chest out like a triumphant rooster, started taunting the people who had been cheering for the Iron-Faced Tiger.
“Is he your son or something? What’s it got to do with you?”
Someone, unable to take the humiliation, muttered resentfully under their breath.
“He’s my man! I won money, so I’m happy. You got a problem with that?”
“…”
The crowd was stunned speechless by Feng Qingwan’s aggressive declaration.
Up on the stage, Chen Erbao heard Feng Qingwan’s shouting, and his face darkened in exasperation.
‘This crazy woman is unbelievable…’
With the Iron-Faced Tiger’s defeat, Chen Erbao, who was originally supposed to fight nine opponents, was immediately declared the winner of the challenge. As the fighter’s sponsor, Feng Qingwan received a prize of twenty-nine million.
She had only lost a little over ten million at the gym all year, and this single win more than doubled her money back.
“I’m rich! I’m rich!”
Feng Qingwan was ecstatic. She ran onto the stage, threw an arm around Chen Erbao’s shoulder, and looked down at the crowd, chin held high, unable to suppress her grin.
“Chen Haonan, you’re incredible! You’re seriously the strongest man I’ve ever seen…”
Feng Qingwan chattered on endlessly, getting on Chen Erbao’s nerves.
“Cut the crap. Just make good on your promise…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll give you fifteen million…”
“Wait, who wants your money?”
Chen Erbao shot her a look.
‘This woman isn’t just putting on a show, is she? Does she even know Huang Sanlang?’
Feng Qingwan was provoked by his stare, her pretty eyes glaring.
“What’s with that look? It’s just meeting Huang Sanlang, we can go find him in a bit… But speaking of which, what do you want with him? He’s just a good-for-nothing young master of the Huang Family. If you really want to discuss some sort of partnership, I can take you to my older brother. The Feng Family might not compare to the Huang Family, but we’re not that far behind…”
The two stepped down from the ring as the venue once again erupted with activity. With the fights over, a group of heavily made-up women emerged with trays of drinks, seeking out potential customers.
Many of Binhai’s young scions also came over to greet Chen Erbao.
After all, he had just displayed the prowess of a Top level Expert. Forget these idle young masters; even their fathers would have to treat Chen Erbao with respect.
Chen Erbao continued to play the part of a cold and aloof master, leaving all the socializing to Feng Qingwan.
Feng Qingwan was dressed like a demure schoolgirl in a pleated skirt, but the moment she opened her mouth, she was cussing people out. The dissonance was like smearing pungent Northeast soybean paste on a French steak with a side of raw garlic—the contrast was so jarring it was uncomfortable, and the young masters quickly retreated.
While Feng Qingwan was busy in a shouting match, Chen Erbao stepped aside, picked up a glass of red wine from a table, and took a sip. As he watched the decadent, hedonistic scene in the hall, a peculiar glint flashed in his eyes.
‘I heard earlier that this gym has a second basement level. I wonder what goes on down there…’
Just as Chen Erbao was about to investigate with his Divine Sense, Feng Qingwan swaggered over to his side as if she owned the place.
“Let’s go. We’re going to see Huang Sanlang.”
“Alright.”
Chen Erbao withdrew his Divine Sense and followed Feng Qingwan out of the hall. They went down a long corridor, returned to the first-floor lobby, passed through several doors, and made their way to the back of the clubhouse.
A middle-aged man was waiting by a door. When he saw Feng Qingwan and Chen Erbao, he sized them up, his gaze lingering on Chen Erbao.
“Mr. Chen, Miss Feng. I hear you wish to see the Third Young Master Huang?”
He had addressed Chen Erbao first.
In his eyes, Feng Qingwan was just a young lady from the Feng Family who messed around all day. Her importance paled in comparison to Chen Erbao, who was a Top level Expert.
Feng Qingwan gave a nonchalant nod.
“My friend has some business to discuss with Huang Sanlang. Where is he?”
“He’s right inside. Please.”
Uncle Xu smiled at Chen Erbao and gestured for him to enter with a cupped-fist salute.
