Chapter 118: Chapter 118: A Man’s Vile Suspicion

A car screeched to a halt. The driver was a blonde woman, and she was quite good-looking.

A man sat in the passenger seat—someone Han Xiaorui knew all too well.

Her ex-husband, Yang Jianming.

Han Xiaorui nearly threw up. Just a moment ago, she had seen Yang Jianming’s hand on the beautiful blonde woman.

It was obviously an affair!

Yang Jianming truly was a leopard who couldn’t change his spots, cheating on his wife yet again!

Even though Zhang Lili was living with him in the city, Yang Jianming still found opportunities to date and flirt with other women.

That shameless pair. They didn’t even have the decency to hide, carrying on in broad daylight.

If she hadn’t reacted so quickly, she would’ve been hit.

Yang Jianming saw Han Xiaorui too, and his heart sank. He said a quick word to the blonde woman inside and got out of the car.

"Han Xiaorui, I hope you won’t go running your mouth," Yang Jianming said, though he secretly enjoyed the thrill of it all.

Especially now, being with a blonde from Yingjiang Country made him feel the fiery passion of a foreign land.

Her forwardness was a real eye-opener for Yang Jianming. He was completely captivated, and it made him long for the wonders of life abroad even more.

It was just as some people said: the moons abroad were rounder, and the air was sweeter.

"Pah!" Han Xiaorui spat, no longer caring about her composure. "Who are you? I don’t believe I know you."

Yang Jianming flashed a smile he thought was handsome and charming. "Don’t be like that. We know each other better than anyone. You know how it is—I have work obligations."

Han Xiaorui felt like she was going to be sick. "Yang Jianming, I must have been blind and incredibly unlucky back then. But now I’ve clawed my way out of your cesspit, so stop showing up and being an eyesore."

"Whether you’re sneaking around or cheating openly, it has nothing to do with me. Your wife is Zhang Lili now, after all. I’m not bored enough to run to her and say you’re hooking up with some foreign girl."

"So from now on, stay the hell away from me. Don’t ever let me see you again, or don’t blame me if my lips get loose!"

Yang Jianming looked at the radiant Han Xiaorui, an unbearable itch of desire rising within him.

In the past, Han Xiaorui had been beautiful, but she was too timid, reserved, and aloof.

But this new Han Xiaorui had a tongue as sharp as a knife, and it made her seem so much more alive.

"Xiao Rui, don’t be angry. I can’t talk long today, I have to go out with a friend. I’ll come visit you, Pingping, and An’an when I have time."

Han Xiaorui fought back the urge to gag. He was just too disgusting. "There’s no-one more invincible than a man with no shame. And you, Yang Jianming, are the absolute pinnacle of shamelessness."

Yang Jianming just shrugged and smiled. He figured she couldn’t get over him, that her insults were a sign of love—the whole "if she hits you, it’s because she’s fond of you; if she yells at you, it’s because she loves you" nonsense.

He got back in the car. Just as he settled into his seat,

the blonde woman planted several showy kisses on his lips, her eyes fixed provocatively on Han Xiaorui.

The foreign woman hadn’t understood a word of their conversation, but she could tell from their body language and expressions that their relationship was anything but ordinary.

She had already fallen for this handsome and talented man from Hua Country; she would never back down.

Han Xiaorui was speechless. ’Some people will fight over a piece of dog shit and treat it like a treasure,’ she thought. ’Impressive!’

She pushed her small cart, laden with groceries and spices, and headed inside.

Yang Jianming was puzzled. ’What is Han Xiaorui doing in this neighborhood?’

’She made some money selling fish, but she also spent hundreds of thousands on a boat. Did she still have enough to buy a place here?’

’Since when was fishing that profitable?’

’Han Xiaorui is so beautiful... has she become some rich man’s kept woman?’

The blonde woman behind the wheel noticed the man in her passenger seat was lost in thought. Instantly feeling her own charm diminish, she abruptly turned the car onto a deserted park lane. She then scrambled from the driver’s seat into the passenger side and pressed herself against Yang Jianming...

After that, the car began to rock...

Han Xiaorui pushed her cart into the elevator.

As luck would have it, a young man in a T-shirt, holding a basketball and covered in sweat, got in too. His eyes widened in admiration when he saw Han Xiaorui.

The young man across from her took in her indignant expression.

"You live on the seventh floor?" the young man asked, breaking the silence. "I haven’t seen you around before. Are you a new neighbor?"

Han Xiaorui nodded slightly. "I am."

"I’m Jack. My Chinese name is Liang Siyu, and I’m from Singapore. And you?" Liang Siyu introduced himself, his demeanor warm and cheerful.

Han Xiaorui replied, "I’m from Hua Country. You can call me Ms. Han."

"A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Han." Liang Siyu smiled, then glanced at all the groceries in her cart. "Are all these for yourself?"

Seeing that he was trying to subtly fish for information, Han Xiaorui didn’t hide anything. "My two children and other family members have very big appetites."

"Huh?" Liang Siyu was taken aback. "You’re so young. You’re married already?"

Han Xiaorui nodded. "I am."

At that, Liang Siyu fell silent. He assumed she must be the mistress of some wealthy businessman who had returned from abroad.

When they reached the seventh floor, Han Xiaorui pushed her cart out of the elevator.

Liang Siyu lived on the ninth floor. He pressed the button for his floor, and in the instant before the doors slid shut, he took one last look at Han Xiaorui’s graceful, slender figure.

’What a shame!’

If she were single, he might have pursued her. But as things stood, he didn’t want to get into any trouble.

After all, anyone living in this building had some clout, and he wasn’t looking to make enemies.

Han Xiaorui had seen right through Liang Siyu’s little game and had said what she did on purpose.

She, Han Xiaorui, did things with a certain class—and that included dating.

She might date many men, but never at the same time. If someone wasn’t a good fit, she’d break up and move on to the next.

She opened the door to her apartment, pulled the white dust cloths off the furniture, and did a quick wipe-down. The place was already very clean.

The kitchen was fully equipped. She put away her groceries and began to cook.

She simmered a pot of pork rib congee and made sweet and sour pork ribs, tomato and egg stir-fry, braised sea bass, a side of sautéed greens, and a seaweed and tofu soup.

Since the kids preferred steamed rice for lunch, she made a separate pot of that as well.

She didn’t wait for her kids and sister; she ate first.

By the time Han Xiaoqing arrived with Pingping and An’an, Han Xiaorui was holding a thermal container, ready to bring a meal to Ye Feng.

"Mommy, I want to go," said Pingping.

"Auntie said Uncle Ye is hurt. I want to go visit him," An’an added, looking up at her mother.

Uncle Ye bought them sweet candy; they liked Uncle Ye.

Han Xiaorui smiled. "Not today. Stay home, eat with your auntie, and watch some TV. I’ll take you to the hospital tomorrow."

"Okay!" the two girls agreed.

It was easy for Han Xiaorui to catch a cab at the complex gate, and in less than half an hour, she arrived at City First Hospital.

It was a hot summer day, so Han Xiaorui had taken another shower at noon and changed her clothes.

She wore a pink floral blouse, a high-waisted skirt, and a pair of low-heeled sandals with a four-centimeter heel.

Instead of a headband, she had used a ribbon the same color as her blouse to braid her hair. The look was chic and stunning, utterly captivating.

’Sea cucumber congee in the morning, pork rib congee for lunch. That should help his recovery.’

Arriving at the hospital entrance, Han Xiaorui ran into Xu Yingying—Ye Feng’s aunt, the very same woman who had mistaken her for a hired caregiver.

’I wonder how Xu Yingying will react when she sees me today?’
