Chapter 322: Chapter 319: First Forging Experience

After hearing Jin Li’s explanation, Xi Yueyao finally calmed down. Wiping the tear tracks from her face, she grabbed Feng Hao and started to pull him away. "Let’s go, Alchemist. Don’t talk to moles."

"Alright," Feng Hao said with an awkward smile, letting her pull him away.

Gazing at their retreating figures, Jin Li felt a whirlwind of emotions, not even sure herself what she was feeling.

Seeing her standing there in a daze, Sirlius couldn’t help but get curious. "By the way, did something really not happen between you two?"

"What do you think?" Jin Li shot him a cold glare and followed after Feng Hao and Xi Yueyao.

Sirlius was left speechless. To be honest, from a man’s perspective, Feng Hao’s choice had truly surprised him.

Because he knew that for any male Blacksmith, the Earth Spirit Race was practically paradise...

Back on the surface above the mineral vein, the group set off once more.

But after that little farce, the atmosphere was a bit strange. Yao Girl wasn’t crying anymore, but she clung tightly to Feng Hao’s arm as if afraid he would slip away.

Jin Li, on the other hand, was rather embarrassed and could only sit silently to the side, digesting the mineral essence in her body.

"I have no idea how big this mountain range is. We must’ve walked thousands of miles in the past couple of days, right?" Sirlius said, breaking the silence.

Feng Hao affectionately pinched Yao Girl’s nose and chuckled. "Why worry about something like that during a Secret Realm trial?"

"Good point." Sirlius laughed in spite of himself.

Just as Feng Hao said, there really was no need to worry about distance or direction during a Secret Realm trial, as there was no clear objective in the first place.

Seeing that the atmosphere was about to freeze over again, Sirlius decided to stir up another topic. "Oh, right, Brother Feng, I saw that Yaoyao’s MP3 is pretty cool. Do you have any more?"

"It’s just a little gadget I made. I have plenty." Feng Hao smiled and casually tossed him an MP3 player.

Sirlius seemed very interested. After catching the MP3 player, he started playing some DJ music, and the energetic rhythm quickly invigorated the group.

Feng Hao looked slightly puzzled. "You guys don’t have this kind of thing where you’re from?"

"We do, but we don’t have music this intense," Sirlius chuckled. "By the way, Brother Feng, where did you get all this music? It’s not exactly beautiful, but it really gets you pumped up."

"It’s a style of music from my hometown. It’s generally more popular with the younger crowd," Feng Hao said.

"Is that so?" Sirlius nodded with a light laugh, soon becoming completely lost in the energetic rhythm.

With the DJ’s melody playing, time passed quickly. Yao Girl also gradually recovered from the earlier incident. At some point, she had sat down with Jin Li, and the two were whispering to each other with their heads bowed.

Although Feng Hao was curious, he couldn’t get a word in, so he could only chat with Sirlius about matters concerning the Outer Cosmos.

As it turned out, Sirlius was extremely knowledgeable about the situation in the Outer Cosmos. Their conversation greatly broadened Feng Hao’s horizons.

"Anyway, Brother Feng, once you leave the Ancient Cang Realm, you have to come visit the Second Ring Star Realm. Just contact me with a Listening Stone, and I guarantee I’ll show you a great time," Sirlius said enthusiastically.

"That’ll probably be ten years from now," Feng Hao sighed teasingly.

Sirlius couldn’t help but laugh. "Ten years is nothing. For us Mages, even a hundred years isn’t a big deal."

"True," Feng Hao nodded with a faint smile.

"Oh, right, Brother Feng, I have quite a few materials on me. Could you help me forge a weapon?" Sirlius asked, a little embarrassed.

Feng Hao paused, stunned. "Aren’t you a Summoner? What do you need a weapon for?"

"Well... I am a Summoner, that’s true, but my big sis isn’t. Her birthday is coming up, and I have to get her a decent present, no matter what. The consequences will be dire otherwise," Sirlius said with a grave expression.

"Alright, then. I’m not doing anything else anyway, so I might as well forge one for you." Feng Hao naturally wouldn’t refuse and immediately set up shop on the Water Luminous Beast’s broad back. "But I should warn you, I’ve been focused on researching forging techniques and have barely made any actual weapons or equipment. You can’t blame me if it doesn’t turn out well."

"No problem. As long as it’s a forged piece of equipment, it can’t be that bad. Besides, my big sis is pretty easy to please," Sirlius said nonchalantly.

Feng Hao chuckled. "Alright then. What materials, what kind of weapon, and any special requests? Lay it on me."

Sirlius nodded excitedly and hurriedly took out three dark purple metal ingots from his Spatial Ring. He handed them to Feng Hao, saying, "My big sis is a power-type Mage. She likes to use swords, a longsword preferably. If you can, try to make it as beautiful as possible. Can’t be helped, that’s just her thing."

"Heh, you came to the right person for that. I can’t guarantee the weapon’s quality, but don’t worry about the aesthetics. I’m a top-tier designer, you know. I’m the one who designed Yaoyao’s set of equipment," Feng Hao said with a smug smile as he took the dark purple metal ingots.

"Whoa! Brother Feng, you’re too amazing! You even know design?" Sirlius exclaimed.

Honestly, he was already amazed that Feng Hao knew blacksmithing and mechanics. He never expected him to know design as well. The most incredible part was that after learning so many secondary professions, his actual combat strength hadn’t fallen behind.

Feng Hao simply smiled without saying a word. ’If he knew I’m also a Ninth-level Alchemist, I wonder what kind of expression he’d make?’

"Grade-five refined Netherworld Titanium. Tsk tsk, nice stuff!" Feng Hao said meaningfully.

"Heh heh, got it at an auction, then refined it with a high-pressure Melting Furnace," Sirlius explained sheepishly.

Feng Hao smiled faintly and took out his Forging Hammer, not pressing the matter further. "Netherworld Titanium is indeed very suitable for making high-strength, lightweight weapons. It’s a pity the industrial refining is too poor. I’ll have to re-forge it."

"Feel free to do what you must, Brother Feng," Sirlius said.

Nearby, Jin Li seemed to have noticed the Netherworld Titanium. Her eyes flickered as she asked, "Do you have any more of that? I’ll pay a high price."

"All gone," Sirlius said with a shrug.

Jin Li looked slightly disappointed but didn’t press the issue.

Xi Yueyao, however, was curious. Blinking her eyes, she whispered, "What does Netherworld Titanium taste like? Is it yummy?"

"The taste is alright, I guess, but the enhancement effect is excellent," Jin Li replied, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Ever since Xi Yueyao had sat down next to her, she had been constantly asking about the taste of various metals, looking on so eagerly she was practically drooling.

Jin Li found this baffling. She could have understood if a member of another race from a solid-state star system asked such questions, but for an ordinary Human Race girl like Xi Yueyao to do so... it left her speechless.

While Jin Li was still caught between amusement and exasperation, Feng Hao had already begun forging.

Instantly, the sound of CLANG, CLANG filled the mountain forest, startling numerous flocks of birds.

Fortunately, Feng Hao’s dark-energy forging had reached a certain level of mastery. The sound wasn’t overly loud, and thanks to its unique rhythm, it was actually quite pleasant to the ear.

Night fell without anyone realizing it, and Feng Hao’s forging came to an end.

A dark purple longsword rested on the forging platform. Its blade was long and sharp, its design elegant and unique, resembling a masterpiece of divine craftsmanship.
