Chapter 323: Chapter 320: There Is a Kind of Luck Called Xi Yueyao

Even though it was his first time forging a weapon, Feng Hao didn’t run into any trouble. Instead, the process felt completely natural.

This surprised even Feng Hao himself. To be honest, he never expected his first attempt at forging a weapon would go so smoothly, let alone that he would be creating a Tier-5 weapon right off the bat.

’Could it be because my blacksmithing skill is just that high?’ Feng Hao mused, completely baffled.

While Feng Hao was puzzling over it, Sirlius was already captivated by the longsword before him. Even Jin Li and Xi Yueyao, who were standing nearby, subconsciously gathered around, their eyes filled with amazement.

"Brother Feng, you’re being too modest! Judging by its quality, this is definitely the best-made sword I’ve ever seen. And the design is just gorgeous. I bet my older sister will absolutely die for this sword," Sirlius exclaimed in astonishment.

"It is indeed beautiful," Jin Li agreed with a deep nod.

Xi Yueyao, however, was not having it. She wrapped her arms around Feng Hao’s, pouting as she whined, "What a beautiful weapon! I want one too."

"Alright, I’ll forge one for you when we get back," Feng Hao said with an indulgent smile. He then took the dark purple longsword in his hand and inspected it with his game panel:

[Netherworld Titanium Rapier] (Tier-5)

Damage: 172

Sharpness: 80

Weight: 45

Material Properties: High Hardness, Corrosion Resistance

’Huh, so I’m already this good?’ Feng Hao thought, stunned.

He had thought it would be a win just to succeed on his first try forging a weapon. He never imagined that not only would he succeed, but he’d also unlock the full potential of the Netherworld Titanium.

Take the most basic stats, Damage and Sharpness, for example. A Netherworld Titanium longsword made with ordinary Artifact Refining techniques would have, at most, around 160 Damage and 70 Sharpness.

But after he forged it, the Netherworld Titanium’s quality had increased dramatically, resulting in a significant boost to its final stats.

Most importantly, his forging had unlocked its material properties—something that ordinary Artifact Refining could rarely achieve.

The two properties, High Hardness and Corrosion Resistance, were self-explanatory: the weapon was tougher and could effectively resist certain corrosive poisons.

Generally, when a weapon with High Hardness clashed with another, it was possible for it to shatter the opponent’s weapon.

This was why so many people sought out forged weapons. Unlocking even a single property was a massive leap in quality.

Sirlius took the Netherworld Titanium Rapier, cradling it and stroking it lovingly. His satisfaction was written all over his face. "Tsk, tsk. As expected of a true Blacksmith. The quality is on another level. It’s a shame this is going to my sister."

"I’m glad you’re satisfied," Feng Hao nodded, pleased. ’It feels pretty good to have my skills acknowledged.’

"Hahaha," Sirlius laughed heartily and took out a golden magic crystal. "I won’t waste time with thanks. Brother Feng, take this Level 9 Magic Crystal. I can’t let you do all this work for nothing."

"Hey now, there’s no need to bring money into it between friends," Feng Hao said righteously, though he was practically drooling at the sight of it.

"You can’t say that. Even close brothers keep clear accounts. If you don’t take it, I won’t feel right about it."

"Well..." Feng Hao was internally conflicted, staring at the glittering Level 9 Magic Crystal. ’I shouldn’t have put on an act earlier,’ he thought, regretting it immensely.

Thankfully, Xi Yueyao stepped forward at that moment. She snatched the Level 9 Magic Crystal, stuffed it into her Spatial Ring, and said with a little pout, "Why wouldn’t you take it when he’s offering?"

"Haha, your lady is much more direct," Sirlius said with a laugh.

Feng Hao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and could only accept the situation with an awkward silence.

After the forging was done, the group began to advance at full speed, killing a good number of Spirit Beasts along the way.

Additionally, because the relationship between Xi Yueyao and Jin Li had improved, Feng Hao resumed helping Jin Li temper her physical body. Yaoyao didn’t mind this open display of "forging" at all; in fact, she watched from the side with curiosity.

Jin Li, on the other hand, was a bit embarrassed. As Feng Hao hammered away, she did her best to suppress the pleasant sensations she felt and tried not to make a sound.

...

Time flew by. In the blink of an eye, several more days had passed, but the four of them were still wandering through the mountain range.

They had found a fair number of ore deposits and medicinal herbs along the way, but they still hadn’t found the great treasure that Xi Yueyao’s intuition had pointed to.

The mountain forest was eerie and menacing at dusk. A massive Spirit Beast corpse lay before the four of them—the latest of many unfortunate beasts to cross their path.

"Yao Girl, are you sure your feeling isn’t mistaken?"

After killing the Spirit Beast, Feng Hao looked skeptically at Xi Yueyao. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her; it was just that so much time had passed, and they hadn’t sensed the slightest trace of any treasure.

Xi Yueyao pouted aggrievedly. "I feel like we’re very close. It should be just up ahead."

"Alright, we’ll go a little further then. Jin Li, you and the Water Luminous Beast take the lead," Feng Hao said after a moment’s thought.

Jin Li nodded readily and moved to the front of the group with the Water Luminous Beast to clear a path.

As a natural Defense Mage, Jin Li’s physical fortitude was terrifyingly high, making her the absolute best choice to lead the way.

Moreover, after several days of tempering by Feng Hao, Jin Li’s digestion speed had become faster and faster. The Tri-color Crystal Ore, which was originally expected to take a month for her to absorb, was now almost completely processed.

And so, guided by Xi Yueyao’s intuition, the group advanced slowly through the night.

Before long, a strange gleam of light caught everyone’s attention. As they cautiously moved to investigate, Jin Li, who was in the lead, suddenly cried out.

"It’s Magic Souls! So many Magic Souls!" Jin Li shouted in alarm. "Heavens, how can there be so many?"

"Magic Souls?" Feng Hao and the others exchanged a look and hurried forward.

After passing through a stretch of dense forest, a beautiful and magnificent scene unfolded before them.

Ahead of them was an exposed black mountain rock of a slightly odd shape. All around it, countless Magic Souls drifted back and forth like fireflies, their combined glow nearly illuminating the entire night sky.

At this sight, all four of them stood frozen in place, utterly dumbfounded.

"Is... is this real? So many Magic Souls!" Sirlius pinched his cheek hard, swallowing audibly in shock.

One or two Magic Souls wouldn’t have been enough to surprise him. After all, while Magic Souls were rare, they weren’t impossible to obtain. Generally, you could buy them if you had enough money.

But when hundreds of them appeared at once, it was no longer a surprise—it was a shock!

It took Feng Hao a long moment to recover from his shock. He couldn’t help but cup Yao Girl’s little face in his hands and plant a loud kiss on her cheek. "Yao Girl, oh, Yao Girl, you really are my lucky charm."

"Hmph. I told you we’d find it, didn’t I? And you guys didn’t believe me," Xi Yueyao huffed, lifting her chin proudly.

Hearing their conversation, Sirlius and Jin Li finally snapped out of their shock. The way they looked at Xi Yueyao had completely changed.

This was especially true for Sirlius. He hadn’t quite believed it when he’d heard that Xi Yueyao had found the Golden Light Basin based on intuition, but now, he had no choice but to believe.

Are you kidding me? If it weren’t for Xi Yueyao’s intuition, they could have searched for a lifetime and never found this treasure-filled place.

"Your lady’s intuition is... just too powerful, isn’t it?" Sirlius said, his voice trembling.

Jin Li was equally amazed. "Yes, Yaoyao, how did you sense it?"

"Hmph!" The young woman tilted her head back smugly and didn’t answer. In truth, even she couldn’t explain it.

Feng Hao proudly patted Xi Yueyao’s head. He looked up at the night sky at a forty-five-degree angle, adopting a profound and mysterious expression as he explained, "You wouldn’t understand. There’s a special kind of luck, and its name is Xi Yueyao!"
