Seeing that Feng Hao had rescued Xi Yueyao, Jin Li and Sirlius hurried forward to provide backup.

Jin Li gritted her teeth and let out a cry. A dense magical glow erupted from her palm, quickly solidifying into a stone bridge that extended straight to Feng Hao’s feet.

"Solid work, sis!" Feng Hao called out his thanks, quickly leaping onto the stone bridge. He used the downward momentum to easily escape from atop the giant black rock.

The moment Feng Hao and Xi Yueyao landed safely, the giant black rock behind them rose up from the ground, transforming into a massive rock beast.

The beast was built like a rhino, yet not quite. It had features reminiscent of a pangolin, yet it was no pangolin. Black, rock-like armor plates covered its body, and its lantern-sized eyes stared coldly down at them. It exhaled puffs of white smoke from its nostrils. When it tilted its head back and roared, the entire mountain range trembled.

"What kind of Spirit Beast is that? Why have I never heard of it?" Sirlius asked, his face pale.

Jin Li, however, seemed to have realized something. Her gaze wavered as she said, "If I’m not mistaken, this should be the legendary Earth Breath Beast of our Earth Spirit Race. But Earth Breath Beasts are supposed to live in solid-matter star systems. Why would one be in a Secret Realm?"

"That’s normal. You can find Spirit Beast equivalents in the Secret Realm for most magical beasts from the outside world," Sirlius said dismissively.

Just then, the Earth Breath Beast suddenly opened its massive maw and instantly swallowed all the residual spell souls in the area. Then, roaring, it raised an enormous hoofed claw and smashed it down toward the four of them.

"What are you all standing around for? Run!" Feng Hao was the first to react. Without even having time to put the little girl down, he frantically urged the others to flee.

Sirlius and Jin Li scrambled after Feng Hao, narrowly dodging the Earth Breath Beast’s attack.

The instant the Earth Breath Beast’s claw struck, the ground trembled violently, and countless fissures split open.

Feng Hao and the others had already leaped onto the back of the Water Luminous Beast, using its speed to make a panicked escape.

ROAR! The Earth Breath Beast clearly wasn’t going to give up. It pursued them relentlessly with earth-shaking strides. Wherever it went, mountains crumbled, the ground split open, and lesser beasts scattered in terror.

Aboard the Water Luminous Beast, the four of them breathed a slight sigh of relief but didn’t dare let their guard down for even a second.

Watching the giant beast in relentless pursuit behind them, Xi Yueyao blinked and asked, "What just happened? How did a perfectly normal rock suddenly turn into a Spirit Beast?"

"Yeah, what happened?" Feng Hao asked, panting heavily, his face ashen.

Sirlius and Jin Li glanced at each other and, with wry smiles, recounted what had just happened.

After hearing their story, Feng Hao felt like crying. "Seriously, you guys? Can’t you just stay out of trouble for a minute? Instead of catching those perfectly good spell souls, you had to go poke around some rock?"

"We were just curious. We thought there might be some treasure hidden inside, but we never expected it to be an Earth Breath Beast," Sirlius said with a wry smile.

Feng Hao shook his head, exasperated. Then he frowned and asked, "Wait, that’s not right. If it’s a Spirit Beast, why didn’t it attack us from the start?"

Jin Li explained with a wry smile, "The Earth Breath Beast is rather unique. It spends most of its time in a dormant state. During its slumber, it emits a special kind of wave that attracts nearby spell souls. Once enough of them have gathered, it wakes up, devours them, and then goes back to sleep."

"No wonder," Feng Hao said, nodding in surprise. ’I can’t believe such a bizarre Spirit Beast actually exists.’

Seeing the Earth Breath Beast still in hot pursuit, Feng Hao started to get annoyed. ’As a top-tier player in the game *Mage*, when have I ever been chased all over the place by some random monster?’

And so, Feng Hao activated his Crystal Eye to investigate. What he saw was a set of stats that was enough to break his heart:

To be honest, he was genuinely terrified by the Earth Breath Beast’s stats. ’A 113-Star Spirit Beast? What does that even mean? Over a million Qi Blood? And a built-in 30% Life Strength bonus on top of that?’

’Most importantly, its Dark Force Protection is 45 points! How the hell are we supposed to fight that?’

’You have to understand, Dark Force Protection is different from regular Armor Protection. So far, the strongest known material for Dark Force Protection only provides about fifty points, whereas regular armor can reach over seventy. This is precisely why Dark Force has an advantage in the late game.’

’But this monster in front of them had 45 points of Dark Force Protection, which meant it would effectively nullify half of his damage.’

’Factor in the 30% Life Strength and over eight thousand points of Defense, and his damage output would be too pathetic to even look at.’

"We can’t just keep running like this. What do you say? Interested in taking it on together?" Feng Hao asked thoughtfully, turning back to the others.

Hearing this, Sirlius and Jin Li were stunned. "Brother Feng, are you joking?" they said in disbelief. "How are we supposed to fight a 113-Star Earth Breath Beast? Leaving everything else aside, just look at the state of the Water Luminous Beast. Do you really think it has the guts to fight?"

"Aren’t Summoned Beasts supposed to be brave and fearless? Why is yours such a coward?" Feng Hao teased with a smirk.

"You’re thinking of control-type Summoners, okay?" Sirlius replied, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Jin Li also objected, "With our current strength, there’s no way we can win."

"Who says?" Feng Hao raised an eyebrow and sneered. "It’s just a slow-witted brute. As long as you guys can buy me a little time, I’ll turn this whole thing around for us!"

"Are you serious?" Jin Li asked, her gaze intent.

"Obviously," Feng Hao said with a scoff.

Sirlius’s eyes were full of doubt. "Brother Feng, it’s not that I’m looking down on you, but given the Earth Breath Beast’s stats, even as a Dark Force Mage, you probably won’t be able to do much damage, right? And that’s not even mentioning its thousand-plus points of Life Force!"

Feng Hao gave a cold smile and glanced at Xi Yueyao. "Kiddo, tell them just how amazing your husband is."

"Hee hee." Xi Yueyao gave a mischievous smile and looked proudly at Jin Li and Sirlius. "Don’t worry," she announced. "My guy has an [Instant Death] Legacy. It can damage Life Force directly."

"A Life Force-damaging Legacy?" Sirlius froze for a moment, then asked ecstatically.

Jin Li’s dark brows furrowed. She quickly recalled that when she’d fought Feng Hao before, her Life Force had indeed taken some damage. She hadn’t paid it much mind at the time, but now, it seemed it really might be a Life Force-damaging Legacy.

Feng Hao nodded and chuckled. "In short, as long as you all buy me enough time, I’m confident I can take that thing down. Besides," he added, "I happen to have a powerful poison on me. Not only is it incredibly potent, but it also suppresses Life Force regeneration."

"Uh, you have poison, too?" Jin Li was momentarily stunned, her gaze filling with curiosity as she looked at Feng Hao.

Sirlius, on the other hand, slapped his thigh excitedly. "You should’ve said so sooner! With so many tricks up your sleeve, what’s there to be afraid of? Water Luminous Beast, stop cowering! We’re turning around to kick its ass!"

"Wahaha! Now this is getting interesting!" Xi Yueyao immediately began rubbing her hands together in eager anticipation.

Meanwhile, Jin Li no longer hesitated. A faint, dark-gold light began to emanate from her body, signaling her decision.

After receiving Sirlius’s command, the Water Luminous Beast also mustered its courage. It wheeled around and charged straight toward the behemoth...
