Chapter 93: 93 The Wolf

93

The Wolf

"Water."

Then he pointed toward the east.

"Weapons and spiritual crystals."

His black eyes moved again.

"There is also an alchemy area and a forge."

Yun Che nodded.

"Alright. I’ll take care of everything. You help the others."

He disappeared.

The first depot exploded, sending spiritual crystals flying in every direction. Yun Che passed through the smoke.

A group of cultivators tried to block him. Three spears coated in spiritual energy advanced simultaneously.

Yun Che dodged the attack and sent one of the cultivators crashing against a wall. Then three spears came toward him at the same time. He grabbed one of them, and spiritual energy exploded from his body.

The cultivators were forcefully thrown away, flying in different directions. With every strike of his fists, another man was sent flying.

Yun Che continued forward.

The next structure was also destroyed by him after he escaped his pursuers amid the chaos his knights were causing.

When he finished with that depot, he moved on to another.

The fire began to spread.

A commander realized what was happening.

"Quickly, stop him immediately! He’s destroying the depots!"

"Protect the supplies!"

However, it was already too late.

Yun Che struck the ground with his palm, causing an explosion, and the resulting profound spiritual energy destroyed the water reservoir.

Carts were dragged away while the transport beasts fled from their enclosures.

Yun Che did not stop.

The battlefield expanded as hundreds of enemies quickly became thousands.

The ground was covered with corpses, the structures had been destroyed, and smoke covered the sky as the number of skeletons continued to grow.

But the cultivators kept arriving.

Dozens of peak Profound Elementary cultivators entered the battlefield and began working together.

Some reinforced their bodies, others covered their weapons with spiritual energy, while a third group launched techniques from a distance.

The explosions began striking the Undead.

BOOM!

Kael was hit in the chest and sent crashing into a building.

CRASH!

The wall collapsed.

Valeria, meanwhile, received a deep cut across her abdomen and retreated while breathing heavily.

Nefrava lost several bandages.

Eryon had to concentrate much more energy to control the skeletons.

Morcant completely opened the fissure in his chest. Tentacles emerged and dragged away cultivators whose souls had been damaged by him.

The energy of the souls began to swirl around him, causing a disturbing smile to appear on his face.

"This..."

His eyes became fierce.

"...is a battle."

He disappeared.

When he reappeared, his claws, sharp as razors, struck a Profound Elementary cultivator, tearing his body apart as easily as paper.

Valeria appeared above them, using extremely fluid acrobatic movements. Then a blade of blood descended, separating a Lizardman’s head from his body.

Nefrava restrained three enemies at once with her bandages. Then scarabs advanced and devoured the enemies from the inside out, resulting in a horrible and bloody death.

Eryon unleashed a dark technique.

Morcant attacked their souls.

The five advanced together once again.

The entire battlefield exploded as thousands of enemies were killed.

It was a battle between cultivators without organized lines.

There was only speed, spiritual energy, blood, techniques, and destruction.

Then a new pressure descended upon the battlefield.

Silence.

Everyone felt the pressure bearing down on them, causing the soldiers to stop and the cultivators to retreat, joy appearing on their faces.

The five Undead looked in the same direction as a figure emerged from the smoke.

With every step he took, the spiritual energy in the surroundings fluctuated.

The presence that had appeared on the battlefield made the ground seem heavier.

It was none other than one of the fifteen cultivators at the tenth level of the Profound Nascent Realm who were leading an army of more than thirty thousand.

Maeron had been left in charge of this logistical base.

And now that he had come out to deal with the disturbance, he had finally arrived.

Maeron slowly advanced between the soldiers.

The Beastman resembling a wolf stood more than two meters tall, with a lean and muscular body covered in gray fur.

Two swords were strapped to his back, but his hands were already gripping their hilts.

Thousands of soldiers retreated around him.

What remained of the six thousand men who had formed the base’s garrison occupied the terrain between the destroyed depots.

Lizardmen, Beastmen, Tempered Body soldiers, dozens of Profound Elementary cultivators, and a few early-stage Profound Nascent cultivators remained scattered across the battlefield.

But no one dared remain too close to Maeron.

He stared fiercely at the five Undead.

His narrow eyes passed over Eryon, Valeria, Kael, Nefrava, and Morcant before stopping on the blood spread across the ground.

"You didn’t come to plunder."

Maeron’s voice was low.

"You came to destroy our supplies."

Eryon rested both hands on his staff.

"An accurate observation."

Maeron tilted his head slightly.

"Who sent you? Was it the Medusas, or those fire elemental bastards?"

"Why would we tell someone who will soon be nothing more than a corpse who sent us?"

Eryon smiled.

"When you fall, I will turn your skin into a beautiful coat for my master."

Maeron’s expression hardened.

"You insolent undead plague. How dare you insult the Alpha Wolf like this? When I’m finished, I’ll turn your skulls into wine cups."

With that, spiritual energy exploded from his body.

The ground beneath Maeron’s feet sank.

His body disappeared in a gust of wind.

Kael barely had time to raise his arms.

CLANG!

The two swords appeared simultaneously.

One struck his defense from the front while the second came from below, cutting diagonally.

Kael was launched several meters backward, his boots tearing across the stone ground.

The dark armor covering his chest split open in a long fissure.

"He’s quite fast!"

Valeria appeared behind Maeron like a red shadow.

Her nails grew into long claws that shot toward the Alpha Wolf’s neck.

Maeron simply spun his body through the air with incredible speed and agility, blocking the claws with one of his swords.

The second blade moved toward her face.

Valeria tilted her head in a superhuman movement that was difficult to follow.

The sword passed dangerously close, but even so, a cut opened across her cheek.

She then touched her own blood and smiled.

"You are indeed very strong."

Maeron did not use words to answer.

He simply spun on his axis and released spiritual energy through his sword.

The contained pressure exploded outward, radiating his fury.

Valeria was forced to retreat as a blade of energy destroyed three tents and cut through a line of soldiers behind her.

"Kill the others!"

A commander shouted.

Hundreds of soldiers advanced simultaneously with spears, axes, and swords coated in spiritual energy.

Kael smiled.

"Finally, an opponent worthy of me."

He disappeared at high speed.

The impact between him and the army produced an explosion of energy.
