the bone dragon
More than a dozen soldiers were sent flying through the air.
Kael tore through the formation like a beast, using his arms to block spears while his reinforced body withstood blows that would have killed an ordinary man. He grabbed a Beastman by the chest and threw him into three others.
But Maeron was already upon him again.
CLANG!
The swords collided.
Maeron attacked ten times in the blink of an eye, the blades turning into gray shadows.
Kael retreated step by step.
"He is using spiritual energy to accelerate every movement while simultaneously amplifying his raw strength," Eryon observed.
"I noticed!"
Kael blocked one blade, but the second pierced through his defense and opened a deep cut across his shoulder.
Dark blood fell onto the stone like acid.
Maeron advanced to finish him, but at that exact moment, a stream of blood struck his face.
Valeria appeared beside him.
"Now!"
Nefrava launched dozens of living bandages. The bandages slithered across the ground and wrapped around one of Maeron’s legs.
He pulled, but the bandages tightened even more.
Maeron released an explosion of spiritual energy, tearing the bandages apart.
But at that moment, Morcant appeared before him. The undead’s chest split open, and a black fissure released several dark tentacles that attacked the opponent’s soul directly, causing considerable damage.
The Beastman’s eyes widened, his mouth coughing black blood.
"What kind of demonic technique is this?"
He drove both swords into the ground, and spiritual energy exploded from his body, sending Morcant flying backward. As a result, the tentacles loosened.
"He managed to protect his soul! However, the damage he suffered was not minor. I can sense his death approaching."
Eryon raised his staff.
"Now that his soul has been wounded to this extent, let’s break through his defenses and kill him quickly."
Hundreds of skeletons emerged from the ground. The corpses of the dead soldiers began to rise.
The enemy army’s ranks descended into chaos.
"The dead are rising!"
"Retreat!"
"Don’t retreat!"
The screams mixed together. The few survivors of the six thousand enemies turned the base into a battlefield.
Lizardmen advanced against the skeletons while Beastmen tried to protect the remaining supply depots.
Profound Elemental cultivators launched spiritual attacks at Eryon and Nefrava, destroying dozens of undead with every strike.
Seeing the difficulty his Apocalyptic Knights were facing, he decided to act, but not personally.
Then the sky darkened as an aura of death escaped from his body and rose into the heavens.
A huge shadow passed over the base, and everyone looked up.
Yun Che stood before one of the destroyed supply areas, looking at his sixth knight.
Beside him, space began to tremble, and the sound of clashing bones echoed through the night.
The first thing to emerge was an enormous jaw.
Then a neck, followed by a gigantic head.
Next, the body began to emerge from the spatial passage.
The Bone Dragon spread its enormous wings. Its body was so massive that it covered part of the base, while blue flames began escaping between its ribs.
Two bright blue eyes looked down at the thousands of enemies below.
Then a childish voice echoed from its enormous mouth.
"Wow..."
The creature tilted its head.
"That’s a lot of people."
"My master, I heard your voice and answered your call."
Yun Che continued looking up.
"Help your brothers."
The dragon opened its mouth.
"Can I burn them whenever I want, Master?"
"Yes. Turn everything into ash."
The creature’s eyes lit up.
"Yaaay!"
A torrent of blue flames exploded from the dragon’s mouth.
BOOOOOOM!
The flames swept through the enemy formation like rain, violently burning everything and everyone in their path.
The enemies’ armor began to melt. Swords lost their shape, and shields turned red before simply dripping away like liquid metal.
The wooden structures of the supply depots were consumed instantly. The soldiers fled in every direction, most of them instantly reduced to charred corpses.
"It’s a dragon!"
"Retreat!"
"Don’t look back!"
The creature flapped its wings, and the wind produced by the movement knocked dozens of men down.
"Don’t run yet! I haven’t had enough fun!"
The childish voice echoed again.
"I’m not finished yet!"
It opened its mouth once more, and another torrent of blue flames struck the ground. Even the stones cracked, while the metal of the weapons began to melt.
Maeron looked up, and for the first time, surprise appeared on his face before giving way to fear.
That was enough.
Kael appeared before him.
BOOM!
The fist struck his chest. Caught off guard, Maeron was sent crashing into a stone structure engulfed in blue flames.
The wall exploded.
He crashed through the debris and fell to his knees.
Then the dragon appeared above his head, and before he could recover, it unleashed a concentrated breath of blue flames upon him.
He managed to escape, badly burned, and his already damaged soul threatened to leave his body. His condition was truly miserable.
Before he could breathe, Valeria appeared, and Maeron’s sword rose just in time.
CLANG!
She was blocked.
Nefrava attacked from the other side. The bandages wrapped around his arm while Morcant also advanced from the front.
Eryon remained behind.
Six undead.
One enemy.
Maeron growled.
"You really think you can defeat me this easily?"
His spiritual energy exploded, as if activating some kind of self-destruction technique. Nefrava’s bandages were torn apart.
Valeria was struck in the abdomen.
Kael received a deep cut along his side.
Morcant’s chest fissure was struck by a blade coated in spiritual energy.
Eryon raised his staff at the last moment, and the sword passed through his sleeve and cut part of his skeletal arm.
Maeron advanced with his swords, launching a crossed strike.
Spiritual energy formed two invisible blades that tore across the battlefield.
Kael blocked one.
Valeria dodged the second.
Nefrava was struck.
Her golden body was sent crashing into a wall engulfed in flames. The entire wall collapsed.
"You’re still alive?" Maeron said, breathing heavily.
"You should already be dead."
Kael wiped the dark blood from the corner of his mouth.
"We’re undead, you idiot."
He smiled.
"As long as our master exists, nothing and no one can kill us."
Eryon slowly raised his staff, his blue eyes glowing within their sockets.
"Now."
Valeria disappeared.
Nefrava launched all the remaining bandages.
Morcant completely opened the fissure in his chest, forked tongues and grotesque tentacles shooting toward his opponent.
Kael charged directly forward.
Eryon commanded the skeletons like a swarm.
And the Bone Dragon descended from the heavens, spewing blue flames whose temperature continued to rise.
Maeron realized the trap. His entire body became covered in spiritual energy.
He tried to escape.
Kael grabbed one of his swords.
