Just then, Zhou Liyun called him. "Xiaoyang, you need to come back right away. Someone drove into the village, saying they want to buy up our vegetable fields."

Li Yang paused. "Huh? Who is it?"

"I don’t know. It’s some guy with the last name Zhang. You should come back and talk to him," Zhou Liyun said, shaking her head.

"Alright!"

Li Yang quickly drove back to the village.

At home, a man was sitting and waiting for Li Yang.

"That’s him..." Zhou Liyun said. "From the looks of him, he’s not here with good intentions."

Li Yang nodded.

"You’re Li Yang, right?" The visitor glanced at him, feeling even more disdainful.

’He’s just a little farmer, that’s all. What’s there to be afraid of? I’ll have them eating out of the palm of my hand in no time.’

"And you are?"

"Here’s the contract. Just sign it." The man took out a contract and placed it on the table. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zhang Qian, and I’m the business representative for Quan’an Company here. Our company thinks the vegetables you produce are quite good, so we want to sign a contract with you. From this day forward, all the vegetables you grow will be sold exclusively through us. We can give you a signing fee—five hundred thousand!"

Li Yang laughed out loud without even glancing at the contract.

’So that’s why someone came all the way out here to buy our vegetables. Turns out, it’s Quan’an Company.’

Apparently, they’d somehow found out that Li Yang was the supermarket’s supplier and had made a special trip out here.

’At the end of the day, he’s just a hick farmer. How could he possibly compare to a corporate elite like me? He’ll have to listen to me eventually, whether he likes it or not.’

"You’d better think this through!" Zhang Qian said angrily. "If you don’t sign this contract with us, you won’t be selling any more vegetables in Ruizhou."

Li Yang laughed. "You really think too highly of yourself. Do you have a monopoly on all the vegetables in the city? I’ll sell to whoever I want. It’s none of your damn business!"

"Get lost! Who the hell do you think you are to give me a chance?" Li Yang had a short fuse himself, and since the other guy was being so unreasonable, he didn’t feel the need to be polite. "Get the hell out of my village. Now."

Zhang Qian stood up and pointed at Li Yang. "Fine. I’ll remember this. You just wait."

"Yeah, go wait for your mom to find a new man!" Li Yang cursed. "Piss off!"

Zhang Qian stormed off in a huff.

Zhou Liyun stepped forward, worried. "Xiaoyang, maybe you were a little too hot-headed just now. He didn’t look like a good person. It’ll be bad for us if he tries to cause trouble."

"Don’t worry, he’s just an idiot," Li Yang said reassuringly. "Don’t pay him any mind. If he dares to show his face here again, you just tell me. I’ll handle him."

Zhou Liyun nodded.

Zhou Liyun had just left when Qin Susu returned, beaming. "You really found us a gem! Do you have any idea how amazing Ren Jing is? Our water has already broken into a lot of new markets. Next, we’re preparing to move into supermarkets."

Li Yang smiled. "That’s fantastic. I told you she was good, didn’t I?"

Qin Susu snorted. "I knew she was good. But I’m still the boss."

Li Yang gave her a thumbs-up. "That’s right, you’re the boss. The amazing boss!"

Qin Susu looked a little smug. "No matter how amazing she is, she’s still working for me."

Li Yang decided it was best to just stay quiet.

"Alright, I need to go check on the water plant. We have to ramp up production!" With that, Qin Susu left for the plant.

No sooner had she left than Hua Lvlan arrived.

"Let’s go take a look," Hua Lvlan said, her expression unreadable. "It’s under construction now. You should see it for yourself."

"Really, it’ll be fine!" Li Yang said, full of confidence. "Just tell me where to find them."
