The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 307: Psycho
Chapter 307 -308: Psycho
In truth, Li Yang was just bluffing.
After all, it was Western medicine. Unlike traditional Chinese medicine, Li Yang couldn’t identify it with a single glance.
He couldn’t tell what this stuff was.
He just found it strange. You shouldn’t constantly frighten psychiatric patients like this. It would only aggravate their conditions—it was purely harmful, with no benefits whatsoever.
But… the man’s reaction was far too extreme.
‘Why would he yell at Xu Shan like that? Unless… they don’t want Xu Shan to get better.’
To his surprise, the bluff had worked perfectly.
Li Yang instantly snatched the pill from the man’s hand.
It was a small white pill.
“I’ll need to run a full analysis on this pill…” Li Yang said grimly. “If I find anything wrong with its ingredients, you’ll be in for a world of hurt.”
The administrator’s face went pale. He pointed a trembling finger at Li Yang. “You… you’d better not stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. Otherwise, this won’t end well for you.”
He Zinan’s eyebrow twitched. She could already tell there was something fishy going on.
“Is that right?” Li Yang said coolly. “How interesting. By the way, I’m going to cure this man right now. If he happens to say anything… incriminating… you might find yourself in an even worse position.”
Cure him?
The administrator suddenly burst out laughing. “That’s hilarious! Who the hell do you think you are? You think you can cure him?”
Li Yang didn’t waste time with words. He took Xu Shan by the arm and said earnestly, “Your condition seems a bit strange. How about this? I’ll try treating you with a few needles. If it works, you might be able to name your father’s killer. Then things will be much simpler.”
Xu Shan stared at Li Yang in terror. At that moment, he probably had no idea what he was supposed to do.
“Keep an eye on the others for me…” Li Yang said to He Zinan, then immediately began applying the needles to Xu Shan.
Held in place by Li Yang, Xu Shan couldn’t do anything but let Li Yang insert the needles.
As Li Yang inserted the needles one after another, Xu Shan felt a sense of calm wash over him.
Memories came flooding back.
He saw his father being held down and killed…
He had watched with his own eyes, and then he had gone mad.
“Dad!” Xu Shan finally let out a wild roar. His entire body was drenched in sweat as if he’d been caught in a downpour, and his face was a mask of terror.
“It was Jin Jian!” Tears streamed down Xu Shan’s face. “He’s the one who brought his men and killed my dad! It was him!”
The administrator’s face twisted in horror. “How is that possible… How could you…”
With that, he turned and bolted out of the room.
Li Yang ignored the fleeing man and turned to Xu Shan. “Alright. Now that you’re lucid, you don’t need to tell us any more. I’ll take you to the police station. You can give them your full statement and get justice for your father.”
Xu Shan nodded.
But just as they were about to leave, the director and several other men rushed over and blocked their path.
“What do you think you’re doing?” the director, a man in his fifties, demanded with a grim expression. “Get out of here immediately, or I’ll call the police.”
“What a coincidence. I was about to do the same,” Li Yang said with a smile. “Director, why don’t you do it for me?”
The director froze. ‘Damn, I’ve run into a real hard-ass.’
“Fine, you two can leave,” the director said, abruptly changing his strategy. “Thank you for your concern in visiting our patients, but it’s no longer necessary. They are all doing well now, so you can just head back.”
“I’m afraid that’s not going to happen…” Li Yang said, shaking his head with a smile. “We’ll be leaving, of course. But we’re taking him with us. He’s cured now.”
“Cured?” the director said forcefully. “Whether he’s cured or not is for us to decide, not you. Now, get out…”
“Director, I really am better!” Xu Shan cut in anxiously. “I know who killed my father. I have to go testify against them. I’m telling you, I’m cured!”
Xu Shan’s speech was logical and clear. He was obviously a sane man now.
The director looked horrified. ‘What’s going on? Xu Shan has been a babbling idiot this whole time he’s been here. How could he have recovered so quickly?’
The thought sent a jolt of panic through the director.
“I said you’re not cured, so you’re not cured!” the director roared. “Get back here this instant, or I’ll throw you in solitary!”
Xu Shan had clearly been thrown in solitary many times before; he began to tremble at the threat.
Anger flared in Li Yang’s chest. ‘It’s obvious now. These people must have some dirty deal with the Quan’an Group. Xu Shan isn’t here for treatment; he’s being held under their surveillance.’
‘So that’s how it is. You people are truly ruthless.’
“Xu Shan, what’s one plus five?” Li Yang asked.
“Six!” Xu Shan answered immediately. “I can answer a simple question like that, and more complex ones too! Please, believe me, I’m really cured.”
“Whether you’re cured or not is for the professionals at this psychiatric hospital to decide, not some stranger of questionable background,” the director sneered.
A murderous glint flashed in Li Yang’s eyes, but his expression quickly relaxed into a smile. “Director,” he asked, “I’d like to ask you a question. What’s one plus one?”
