Chapter 309 -310: Revenge from Li Yang

“I’d like to see anyone try!” Li Yang said, holding Xu Shan’s hand. “You, on the other hand, killed Xu Wuming. Now there’s a witness, so you can just wait to die.” ℯ

Jin Jian couldn’t understand how this fool, who had been scared witless at the time, had suddenly come to his senses. He became furious. “Get them! Get them… You can’t trust what this idiot says! Go get them…”

His men were about to rush forward.

But at that very moment, police sirens wailed outside.

Shen Xu walked in with her officers, a grim expression on her face.

“Officer Shen…” Li Yang stepped forward and smiled at her. “Xu Shan is the one who called. He’s recovered now.”

“Officer, they’re slandering me!” Jin Jian’s face darkened as he spoke to Shen Xu. “This man’s an idiot, you can’t believe a word he says. He’s mentally ill.”

“Mr. Jin, I’m afraid you’ll have to come with us…” Shen Xu cut him off, speaking slowly. “We’ll have professional doctors determine whether or not he’s mentally ill. However, you will need to cooperate with our investigation into the murder of Xu Wuming two years ago.”

“Don’t touch me! I’m the president of Quan’an Group! You can’t do this to me!” Jin Jian shouted angrily.

Shen Xu stepped forward and kicked him hard.

THUD! Jin Jian collapsed to the floor.

“Cuff him!” Shen Xu roared.

“Quick, call my dad! Hurry…” Knowing he couldn’t escape this time, Jin Jian shouted to his men.

After making the arrest, Shen Xu took Xu Shan with her as well. She gave Li Yang a nod before leaving and disappearing from sight.

The people at Quan’an Group were already in an uproar.

Who would have thought their boss’s son would be taken away by the police?

At the same time, Jin Laili, who was in the middle of a business negotiation, received an urgent call from his company.

“What?” A tremor shot through Jin Laili, and he almost fainted. “How could this be?”

“Alright, I understand. The company will continue to operate as usual. Everyone is to act as if nothing has happened…” Jin Laili said angrily. “I’ll handle things over here. You all just focus on your work.”

After hanging up, Jin Laili still hadn’t fully processed it.

‘How could this be happening… It’s impossible!’

“Li Yang!” After a moment, Jin Laili snarled. “It was him again. He actually dared to screw me over!”

The man beside him said nothing.

“RING RING…”

At that moment, his phone rang again.

“Old Jin, where are you right now? There’s a guest at the house… someone named Li Yang. He says he has to see you, that he wants to meet.”

“What!” Jin Laili’s heart lurched. ‘That Li bastard hasn’t stopped. He’s even gone to my house!’

“I’ll be right back!”

Not long after, Jin Laili arrived back home.

Li Yang was sitting right there in his living room.

Jin Laili’s young wife was watching Li Yang, her face pale with fear.

“Boss Jin, we finally meet. It wasn’t easy.”

Jin Laili glared at Li Yang. “You’re the one who set up my son?”

“Now why would you say that…” Li Yang said with a smile, shaking his head. “What do you mean, *I* set you up? Have you forgotten how you tried to ruin me?”

Of course Jin Laili knew.

“I was doing you a favor!” Jin Laili said coldly. “Trying to fight me in my own territory? You’re biting off more than you can chew. I suggest you start being smart about this, or else…”

The corner of Li Yang’s mouth twitched.

‘These idiots really are all the same,’ he thought. ‘Can’t you read the damn room? Don’t you have a single clue what’s happening right now?’

“Boss Jin, I’m just here to let off some steam,” Li Yang said, smiling brightly at Jin Laili. “I’m a petty man. When someone wrongs me, I have to wrong them right back.”

“You’re ruthless!” Jin Laili said angrily. “My company was doing just fine, and now my son is going to prison because of your lies!”

Li Yang smiled. “How can you call them lies? If you hadn’t done something you’re guilty of, things wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

Jin Laili’s face fell.

They had hidden the matter so well. Even though the police suspected something was off, they had never been able to find any evidence.

‘And now, it was all ruined!’

“Listen here, Li, you’re a dead man!” Jin Laili said, his voice cold as ice. “If you don’t find a way to get my son out of this, I will make your life a living hell. I’ll show you what happens when you cross me. I’ll ruin your business…”

Before he could finish, Li Yang stepped forward and slapped him across the face.

SLAP! The sound was clean and sharp.

The force of the blow sent Jin Laili stumbling back onto the sofa. He stared at Li Yang in terror.

“Jin, I only came here today to see your true colors…” Li Yang sneered. “I told you I’d pay you back for what you did to me. Now, you can just wait for your company to go bankrupt.”

“Friend…” Jin Laili finally snapped out of it, his face a mask of misery. “It was my son… he was being immature, he offended you. How about this? He’s gotten what he deserved. Let’s just end things between us. We can say neither of us came out ahead and just stop here. What do you say?”
