Chapter 32: Chapter 33: The Dog Went Berserk

"What’s it to you!" Qin Susu said defiantly. "You heartless jerk! Just look at how badly these dogs have been abused!"

"Susu, don’t let them go!" But just then, Han Qiuyue said in a trembling voice from her spot by the main gate.

"Huh?" Qin Susu didn’t understand yet.

But then they saw the twenty-odd dogs charge like mad toward the five dog thieves, who were just trying to flee.

Li Yang had injured all five of them, and they no longer had their weapons.

And the dogs clearly hated the men to the bone, chasing after them with a vengeance.

"AHH!" One of the men was too slow. A dog quickly caught up and took a vicious bite.

He immediately fell to the ground, unable to run any further.

Several large dogs swarmed forward, surrounding him and mauling him relentlessly.

"Help me!" the man screamed, his face a mask of terror.

Holy crap!

Just then, the police cars arrived. The officers’ faces paled when they saw the scene.

"Captain, what should we do?" one of the sharp-looking female officers asked anxiously.

"Quick... drive the dogs away!" The captain’s heart skipped a beat.

’We’re so far away. I don’t know if we’ll make it in time!’

But just then, Li Yang sprinted out from inside. Facing the dogs, he let out a powerful, resonant roar, "Stop!"

Instantly, the dogs seemed stunned by his voice. They all froze in place, not moving a muscle.

This was the second time Han Qiuyue and Qin Susu had witnessed Li Yang’s incredible power. They just stood there, dumbfounded.

"Cousin, isn’t he a monster? This is insane, the dogs actually listen to him! The Dog King!" Qin Susu rattled on.

"Ah..." Having narrowly escaped death, the five men scrambled over to the police, no longer even thinking of escape. "Officers, I’m a dog thief! I confess! Please, arrest me! These dogs are insane!"

The police stared at Li Yang, dumbfounded. They looked at him in disbelief, their eyes practically popping out of their heads.

’He can command this many dogs? And make them obey him even when they’re in a frenzy?’

Li Yang walked up and said, "Officers, these five are dog thieves. There are at least a hundred dogs inside..."

Li Yang quickly explained what had happened.

The police were stunned after hearing his account.

"Are you the Dog King or something?" the tall, long-legged, and stunning policewoman couldn’t help but ask.

’Dog bastard?’

’Who is she calling a bastard?’

’Hey, don’t be shy. If you’re going to insult someone, have the decency to say the whole thing! It’s just common courtesy!’

Li Yang was speechless.

"No, no, no! I was just asking how you managed to stop all those dogs. It’s not easy to calm down dogs once they’re in a frenzy," the policewoman said, realizing her poor choice of words and quickly clarifying.

"I don’t really know either. Maybe the dogs just trust me!" Li Yang said, pulling an explanation out of thin air.

"Alright, we’ll take care of these dogs. By the way, you were all involved. How about you come back to the station with me to give a statement?" the captain asked.

"Sure!" Li Yang had no problem with that.

"Mister Officer, Ma’am Officer, hurry up and arrest these dog thieves! They’re horrible!" Qin Susu chimed in, eager to file her complaint.

The male officers didn’t have much of a reaction, but the beautiful policewoman’s face twitched.

’Little brat. Who are you calling "Ma’am"? Open those colored-contact-wearing eyes of yours and take a good look at me! I’m not some old lady; I’m only a few years older than you!’

「Inside the police station.」

Li Yang and the others were giving their statements.

Li Yang finished first, followed by Han Qiuyue. Qin Susu was last, and she really laid into the five dog thieves, embellishing her account with some very colorful language.

With nothing better to do, Li Yang went outside to play with one of the dogs.

"Dahuang, sit!"

Dahuang immediately sat down, not daring to move.

"Go on, knock that tree down for me!" Li Yang ordered, pointing to a large tree nearby.

BAM!

Without a second thought, Dahuang took a running start and slammed into the tree with all his might.

YELP...

Dahuang was knocked silly, but it scrambled back up and charged the tree again.

Li Yang was amused. ’What a silly dog.’

The beautiful policewoman watched this unfold, the corner of her mouth twitching.

’That’s one loyal dog, but you’re a real piece of work, bullying it like that!’

The policewoman approached him and asked curiously, "You seem to know a lot about dogs?"

"I’m not a ’dog bastard,’ so how could I possibly know anything about dogs?" Li Yang retorted sullenly.

The policewoman was speechless. ’He’s so petty.’

"It just seems like this dog understands what you’re saying..." the policewoman said, trying to be patient. "Back there, if it hadn’t been for you, those dogs probably would have mauled the five thieves to death."

"’Dog thieves.’ I like that," Li Yang said approvingly. "It’s fitting."

The policewoman felt a flash of pride, but then it hit her. ’Wait a minute... is this guy calling me a dog thief?’

"You... You’re a grown man! How can you be so petty!" The policewoman glared with her alluring eyes, wanting nothing more than to punch him right in the face.

"Don’t look at me like that. Now we’re even," Li Yang said with a sly grin.

’Finally got her back.’

The policewoman was left speechless again.

"My name is Shen Xu," the policewoman said with a sigh. "Do you mind if I get your contact information?"

"What for?" Li Yang asked, looking at her warily.

"I have a kitten at home. Since you seem to be so good with animals, I thought I might need to ask for your advice someday," Shen Xu said, feeling a bit awkward and exasperated.

’When I’m not in uniform, guys are always asking for my WeChat on the street.’

’But you? You’re acting like I’m going to do something to you.’

Li Yang grunted in acknowledgment. "Alright, then."

Just as he was giving her his contact information, he heard Qin Susu cry out, "Dahuang, what’s wrong with you?! Why are you ramming the tree?!"
