The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 335: The Antidote
“Haha!” Maitreya shot to his feet, pointing at Wen Ru. “You, some little broad, dare to tell me to get out? Who the hell do you think you are? Let me make one thing clear. I’ve given you two conditions. If you don’t agree to at least one of them, I’ll make your company disappear completely by the end of the day.”
“Maitreya, who do you really think you are?” the Little Gangster Girl demanded furiously.
Maitreya sneered. “I’ve been putting up with this company of yours for a long time. Now that Lu Da is dead… do you lot really think you’re a match for me? Oh, right, allow me to introduce this gentleman…”
As he spoke, he pointed to the old man beside him, whose eyes were closed. “This gentleman’s name is Mo Qi,” he said lightly. “I’m sure you’re all curious who administered the poison. Well, it was him.”
Mo Qi!
Li Yang couldn’t help but glance at the old man. The person who had poisoned He Tianba was named Mo Jiang, and now this one was Mo Qi… ‘Could they be from the same place?’
Mo Qi finally opened his eyes and glanced at them. His eyes were almost triangular, filled with a sinister viciousness.
But he quickly closed them again, saying no more.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you…” Maitreya let out a loud laugh. “When Master Mo walked in earlier, he already poisoned all of you. You probably just didn’t notice. Why don’t you check?”
“Nonsense! Are you trying to scare us?” The Little Gangster Girl was startled, but she immediately roared, “Everyone, don’t listen to his bullshit! That’s impossible!”
“You say it’s impossible?” Mo Qi opened his eyes, a sharp glint flashing within them. “You ignorant little girl, how could you possibly comprehend the subtleties of my poisons?”
To be honest, Wen Ru was shaken.
She knew that the Jianghu was full of extraordinary individuals with peculiar skills.
It wasn’t at all surprising that this man, Mo, possessed such an ability.
If he had truly poisoned them, then they were in dire straits.
“Roll up your sleeve and look at your veins. See if a red line has appeared…” Mo Qi said coldly.
The Little Gangster Girl rolled up her sleeve and looked. Sure enough, she saw a red line that looked like a blood vessel stretching up her arm.
A chill ran down the Little Gangster Girl’s spine.
The others quickly rolled up their sleeves and found that they all had the same mark.
“Haha…” Maitreya was even more delighted. “Master Mo, you truly are an expert with poisons! You got them all without anyone even noticing. It’s a shame I didn’t meet you a few years earlier. Otherwise, I would have wiped them all out long ago.”
Wen Ru also saw the thin red line on her hand, and her expression changed.
“May I ask a question…?” Just then, Li Yang spoke up.
Maitreya looked at Li Yang. “You look like you’re with them. What do you want to ask? Thinking of switching to our side, are you…?”
Now that he held all the cards, Maitreya didn’t mind exchanging a few words with Li Yang.
“I’d like to know,” Li Yang asked, “if you found out who cured the poison, how would you deal with that person?”
“Kill them!” Maitreya’s eyes glinted with murderous intent.
Mo Qi nodded faintly. “That’s right. Kill them.”
The young man toying with a knife smiled. “I’ll do it. I can make their death excruciatingly painful, to the point they’ll regret ever being born.”
Hearing their answers, Wen Ru suddenly let out a sigh of relief.
Just as she expected, Li Yang’s expression darkened. “Well then, congratulations. You’ve given me the absolute wrong answer.”
Maitreya glared at Li Yang. “And who the hell are you?”
“I’m nobody special,” Li Yang said calmly, stepping forward. “It’s just a coincidence, but I happen to be the one who cured Lu Da’s poison. Funny how that works out, isn’t it?”
It was you!
Mo Qi and Maitreya stared at Li Yang in unison.
So young!
Their initial, gut reaction was disbelief.
‘Someone this young was the one who neutralized the poison?’
‘Impossible. At his age, he shouldn’t possess that kind of skill.’
But Li Yang’s eyes were completely sincere, as if to say, ‘That’s right, I did it.’
“It was you?” Maitreya said coldly. “Well, that’s too bad. You won’t be living much longer.”
“Is that so?” Li Yang rolled up his own sleeve, smiling at Mo Qi. “Master Mo, your poison doesn’t seem so potent after all. I’m not poisoned in the slightest.”
Mo Qi stared at Li Yang’s clean, unblemished arm, momentarily stunned.
He had released the poison the moment he’d walked through the door. It was colorless and odorless, impossible to detect. ‘So how did this guy manage to avoid it?’
“Surprising, isn’t it?” Li Yang laughed at his expression. “There’s really nothing to be shocked about. Forget a petty little poison like this; you could use any other poison you have, and it still wouldn’t affect me… Oh, right. You probably don’t know, do you? Well, allow me to inform you.”
With that, Li Yang pointed at him. “You’ve already been poisoned.”
Mo Qi sneered. “Who do you think you’re scaring?”
“Why don’t you check your own veins, then…” Li Yang said with a smile.
Mo Qi instinctively glanced at his own veins, and his expression changed dramatically. He immediately fumbled for his bag, trying to grab the antidote.
But Li Yang moved like a flash of lightning, snatching the medicine and casually tossing it to Wen Ru.
Overjoyed, Wen Ru and the others quickly took the antidote.
