The Supreme Village Doctor

Chapter 339: Treating a Patient on the Train

Li Yang came out, his expression extremely grim.

He could now confirm one thing: the Xia Family was still plotting something against Xiao Zhen.

Moreover, the great fire at the Xiao Family estate back then was definitely their doing.

It was just that there was no evidence at the time, so no one could do anything about it. Besides, the Xia Family was very hypocritical, and their actions over the years had been impossible to trace.

As for that “medical team” around Xiao Zhen… if Li Yang’s guess was correct, they weren’t there to treat Xiao Zhen at all. They were cultivating the evil fire within her.

Thinking of this, a chill ran down Li Yang’s spine.

Having reached this point, Li Yang honestly didn’t know how to proceed.

The only remaining mystery was Xiao Zhen’s condition, but he still didn’t have a single clue.

There were no records of anything like this in the Medical Canon, either.

After some thought, Li Yang gave a wry smile. ‘I should stop overthinking this. I’ll just find a chance to talk to Zhao Xuechu and remove the evil fire from Xiao Zhen myself. As for how they handle the fallout, that’s none of my business.’

With that thought, Li Yang arrived at the train station, ready to catch a ride to Chaling.

The train ride from here to Chaling was a little over two hours, almost three.

Li Yang bought a ticket and boarded the train.

For a more comfortable journey, Li Yang had even bought a sleeper ticket.

He had just gotten on the train and found his berth when he saw that two young people and an old man were already inside the compartment.

The old man looked to be around sixty, but he was in high spirits and seemed very healthy.

As for the other two, they both looked to be in their early twenties, a young man and a young woman.

When Li Yang entered, the two young people glanced at him.

Li Yang smiled at them and pointed to the middle bunk.

Then, Li Yang climbed up and lay down on it.

From below, he soon heard the trio chatting.

Li Yang didn’t want to eavesdrop, but they were speaking so loudly it was impossible not to overhear. He vaguely caught them mentioning something about medicinal herbs.

Li Yang immediately understood. These people were most likely also heading to Chaling, probably to buy medicinal herbs as well.

Soon, Li Yang was drifting off, ready to sleep.

But he hadn’t been asleep for long when someone suddenly screamed, “My son is having a seizure! A doctor, is there a doctor here?!”

Then, the train attendant was already making an announcement over the PA system, “Excuse me, is there a doctor on the train? A child is having convulsions in car number 16. If there is a doctor, please come to car 16 to help as soon as possible. Thank you…”

Li Yang shot up. ‘Car 16, isn’t that my car?’

He immediately got up and climbed down from his bunk.

At that moment, the old man and the two young people from below were gone, having apparently gone to see the child as well.

Soon, Li Yang arrived at the spot where the child was convulsing. A small crowd had already gathered.

If the train police hadn’t been there holding people back, the crowd would have been even larger.

“What’s happening?” a mother asked the old man, her eyes welling with tears.

The old man and his two disciples were there, observing.

“Master, it looks like epilepsy!” the young man said.

“That’s impossible!” The mother quickly shook her head. “My son is perfectly fine, it can’t be epilepsy.”

The old man frowned, also somewhat unsure.

“Ma’am, this is epilepsy.” Seeing his master remain silent, the young man grew more certain and said, “The best thing to do now is to administer a sedative, but I’m guessing you don’t have any here, right?”

“That’s right, we don’t!” someone else chimed in.

“Then there’s nothing to be done.” Feeling everyone’s eyes on him, the young man became a little smug. He spread his hands and said, “Now all we can do is let him calm down on his own.”

“But… won’t something happen to him?” the mother asked, trembling.

“Normally, there shouldn’t be any problem, but…” The young man thought for a moment and added, “I can’t make any absolute guarantees.”

“It’s not epilepsy!” Just then, Li Yang spoke up. “Let me through. I can fix this with some massage.”

‘Not epilepsy?’

The young man was basking in the crowd’s admiring gazes when he suddenly heard this and became displeased. Seeing it was Li Yang, he said with some disdain, “You say it’s not epilepsy?”

“It’s heatstroke!” Li Yang said calmly. “Heatstroke can also cause convulsions and foaming at the mouth, which is what’s happening to him now.”

“What a joke. This car is air-conditioned. How could he possibly have heatstroke!”

“Ma’am, you just boarded the train, didn’t you?” Li Yang ignored the young man and instead asked the mother.

“Yes, we just got on. We… we were out in the sun for a long time…”

“Exactly!” Li Yang said seriously. “You were out in the sun for a long time. The heatstroke set in outside, but the symptoms are only showing up now. Here, let me give him a massage. He’ll be fine in a moment. Oh, and get some water ready.”

“Wait a minute!” The young man’s expression changed. It seemed like what Li Yang said made sense, but he still felt unconvinced. “Just because you say it’s heatstroke, that makes it heatstroke? And you can fix it with a massage? How come I’ve never heard of such a thing?”
