The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 341: Fire Tripod
Liu Mingzhang scolded, “If this muscle realignment technique is mastered, it could benefit countless patients. How can a mere million even compare!”
The young man stewed in frustration.
Li Yang gently flipped through a few pages of the book.
‘This book really is ancient,’ he thought. ‘It looks like it’s been around for ages.’
‘But the information inside is quite clear… however…’
As he was pondering, Li Yang’s eyes suddenly lit up.
Instantly, he closed the book and said to Liu Mingzhang, “Senior, in that case, it’s a deal.”
“Really!” Liu Mingzhang hadn’t actually held out much hope. After all, this was a unique skill—the kind of technique someone relied on for their livelihood. He never expected Li Yang would agree so easily.
“Of course,” Li Yang said with a smile. “I’ve never taught this to anyone before, but you’re right. If one more person knows it, it’s a good thing for patients. Come, I’ll teach you properly…”
Both were top-tier traditional Chinese medicine doctors, so Li Yang first verbally explained the general principles.
Although he only spoke of acupoints and methods, they both understood the intricacies.
After a brief explanation, Li Yang spoke again, “Now, have your apprentice lie face down, and we’ll try it out.”
“Alright!” Liu Mingzhang had already grasped about seventy or eighty percent of what Li Yang explained, but the opportunity for hands-on practice was even better, so he immediately nodded in agreement.
Soon, Liu Mingzhang had his apprentice lie down.
The young man was still a bit resentful, but since his master had spoken, he had no choice but to obediently lie down.
Once he was lying there, Li Yang began to apply the technique.
The young man wore a defiant expression, but as the treatment continued, an incredible comfort washed over him, bringing his muscles to a whole new level of relaxation.
At that, the young man was completely convinced.
Next, Li Yang had Liu Mingzhang give it a try.
Soon, Liu Mingzhang had mastered the basic points.
By the time their train was arriving at the station, he had more or less taught them the entire technique.
“Thank you!” Liu Mingzhang was overjoyed. He cupped his fist to Li Yang and said, “Divine Doctor, you are truly generous.”
Li Yang smiled and shook his head.
“How about this, let’s exchange numbers,” Liu Mingzhang said. “If I run into any difficult problems in the future, I hope I can consult with you.”
Li Yang considered it for a moment, and they exchanged numbers.
Just then, the train pulled into the station.
“Let’s get off together.” Greatly pleased, Liu Mingzhang got off the train with Li Yang.
Once outside the station, Liu Mingzhang asked, “Divine Doctor Li, where are you headed? Perhaps we could go together?”
Li Yang smiled and shook his head. “Dr. Liu, I won’t be joining you. I have a friend waiting for me here, so I’ll be on my way.”
“Alright!”
Watching Li Yang’s departing figure, Liu Mingzhang sighed. “You see? True masters walk among us. And you… don’t be so resentful.”
The young man thought for a moment and said, “Master, I’m convinced.”
Liu Mingzhang smiled. “Good!”
After leaving the station, Li Yang called Zhong Lin and then went to the hotel.
“You’re really something else…” In the hotel, Zhong Lin looked at Li Yang with a helpless expression. “I haven’t seen hide nor hair of you these past few days. I was wondering what you got up to.”
Li Yang said apologetically, “Sorry about that. I really had some things to take care of, but it’s all settled now. By the way, have you found the ginseng seeds?”
“I did find a supplier with pretty good quality…” Zhong Lin immediately broke into a smile. “The price is decent, too. How about this, we’ll go take a look tomorrow.”
“Sounds good!” Li Yang was overjoyed. “I’ve also been busy these last few days. I’m going to rest at the hotel for a bit.”
“Alright. I have to go see some old friends myself.”
Back in his hotel room, Li Yang took a shower and then pulled out the ancient book.
He flipped to the page he had been looking at earlier.
“Fire Tripod!” Li Yang looked at the term, then at the description. It was a perfect match for Xiao Zhen’s condition.
“Fire Tripod: using a human body as a tripod to refine a fire. It can cure strange illnesses and also allow one to change their constitution. However, the person who becomes a Fire Tripod will bleed from all seven orifices and die after losing it, their entire life essence completely drained.” Li Yang read the description, and his blood ran cold.
‘This is a very obscure evil art from the southwest region.’ This confirmed his suspicions.
‘My medical codex has the formula for a cure, but it doesn’t describe what this thing is used for. So *that’s* what’s going on.’ It all suddenly made sense to Li Yang.
‘That medical codex really is something else,’ he mused. ‘It has the method to resolve the Fire Tripod, but no description of its purpose. If I hadn’t stumbled upon this ancient book, I still wouldn’t have understood the cause and effect behind it all.’
‘I wonder if the Xia Family has an illness they need to cure, or if they want to change someone’s constitution, or something else entirely…’ After reading, Li Yang was left completely bewildered.
After thinking for a moment, he called Zhao Xuechu.
“Have you seen Zhenzhen?” Zhao Xuechu asked directly.
“I have…” Li Yang didn’t hide anything. “Not only did I see Xiao Zhen, I also saw Uncle Chai…”
He then told her what happened when they met.
On the other end of the line, Zhao Xuechu shuddered.
