The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 344: Li Yang’s Counterattack
Mr. Han did as Li Yang said and took a closer look.
He saw that it was exactly as Li Yang had described.
He was only a customer and nowhere near as knowledgeable as an expert, but from Li Yang’s confident explanation, he knew it was most likely true.
“You actually dare to sell fakes!” Mr. Han roared. “I bought this ginseng for my father to recover his strength after surgery! This is supposed to be life-saving medicine! I warned you over and over not to give me a fake, and you give me this piece of garbage? I want a refund!”
Mr. Han’s shouting quickly drew the attention of others. Coupled with the fact that the herbs on the large truck outside were being exchanged, other customers soon came forward.
“My god, that’s two items in a row with problems. Maybe I should have a look at what I bought, too.”
“But we don’t know how to tell!”
“This young man does! Let’s ask him…”
…
Soon, they had all crowded around Li Yang.
“Young man, can you take a look for me? I bought some prepared rehmannia root. See if this is the genuine article.”
“Nope, this is no good,” Li Yang said. “This stuff is extremely low-grade. It’s not worth what you paid!”
“Son of a bitch! And this shop always claims they’re honest. They’re total crooks!”
…
They all had Li Yang inspect their purchases one by one. Li Yang was very patient, but after examining everything, even he was stunned.
‘This shop is so damn crooked.’
They were passing off inferior goods as premium ones, even substituting Forest Ginseng for wild mountain ginseng.
They were preying on people who didn’t know any better!
“Refunds!”
“And we want compensation!”
…
The crowd was soon clamoring for refunds.
The manager was aghast. He pointed at Li Yang and stammered, “You… you dare incite them to cause a scene? You’ll be held responsible for this!”
“Responsible?” Li Yang laughed. “You call this ‘inciting’? Are you not clear on what kind of garbage you’re selling? Everyone, listen up! Look what their sign says: ‘For any fake item, compensation is ten times the price.’ Don’t go easy on them! Gather your evidence, and let’s go get the money you’re owed!”
The manager nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood. The situation was now completely out of his control. His only option was to go inside and call the boss.
Zhong Lin was already dumbstruck. ‘Fucking hell…’ he thought. ‘Of all the people to piss off, you had to pick Li Yang. The guy’s a born shit-stirrer.’
Soon, several cars pulled up outside.
A middle-aged man stepped out and swept a vicious glare over the people demanding refunds.
“Boss!” The manager scrambled over to the middle-aged man. “He’s the one making trouble! It’s all his doing!”
he said, pointing at Li Yang.
Li Yang stood his ground, looking completely unfazed and showing no intention of leaving.
“I see!” The boss growled, glaring at Li Yang. “He’s dead meat!”
With that, he strode up to Li Yang, his face dark. “Kid, you came looking for trouble, didn’t you?”
“That’s right,” Li Yang sneered. “I just didn’t realize your establishment was so fragile. It’s so rotten, it shatters at the slightest touch.”
“You!” The boss’s face twisted with fury. “I’m telling you, you’re going to take full responsibility for everything that happened here today.”
“On what grounds?” Li Yang laughed. “You’re the one selling fakes, but you want me to take the blame? You’ve got a lot of nerve.”
“On what grounds?” the boss sneered. “On the grounds that I have all these men with me. If you don’t take responsibility today, I’ll make sure you never walk out of here!”
SLAP!
But Li Yang simply responded with a slap across his face.
It was a clean, crisp strike that left the boss completely stunned.
“What now? Trying to threaten me?” Li Yang yelled. “So you think you’re in the right for selling fakes? I’m not allowed to expose you, is that it? You’ve got some fucking nerve. You’re asking for a beating, aren’t you!”
Li Yang slapped him again and again as he spoke.
He slapped the boss into a stupor.
The manager could only watch, his face a mask of horror.
“Quick… get him!” the boss sputtered to the henchmen he had brought along.
The henchmen immediately rushed forward.
But they were no match for Li Yang. In moments, they were all on the ground.
SLAP!
Li Yang unceremoniously slapped the boss again.
The boss was terrified now, looking at Li Yang with pure dread.
“Should I call the police for you?” Li Yang asked coldly.
“No…” The boss’s face went pale. “I’ll pay! I’ll pay for everything…”
Li Yang let out a cold smirk.
“You…” The boss turned and pointed at the manager, roaring, “How the hell did you manage to piss him off?”
“Boss, you can’t blame me…” The manager was on the verge of tears. “It was all Boss Zhang’s idea! He tried to pass off Forest Ginseng seeds as wild ginseng seeds, but this young man saw right through it. Then he told all of us not to sell anything to him. You know how it is—all the shops here stick together against troublemakers…”
The boss lowered his head. It was true; they had pulled this kind of stunt many times before.
This time, however, they had run into someone they shouldn’t have messed with.
“So it really was you,” Li Yang said. Though he had already guessed as much, a flash of killing intent still glinted in his eyes upon hearing the confirmation.
‘These people are utterly shameless!’
“I’ll sell them! I’ll sell them…” The boss was now drowning in regret. “I’ll sell the seeds to you, sir…”
Li Yang said coldly, “Then sell them. Don’t let me catch you doing this again, or I’ll destroy you.”
“Yes, yes, of course…” The boss was filled with immense regret.
